N53 has a 3.0 but not sure about other volumes, it uses direct injection compared to the n52's port injection

There is also a 530i version,natural aspirated but with 272HP.Basically is the engine from the previous gereneration E60

On e60 was n52b30 with 272hp, on f10 is only n53b30 258hp
no the F10 has also 272 HP but it is the N53 indeed
No, 528i had the n53 first and then was replaced by the 4 cylinder turbo 1997 cc n20, and the 530i kept the n53 until end of production, the only e60 that used the n53 were the 525i and the 530i from 2007 to 2010

528i 258HP
530i 272HP
All of them are N53
In 2012 they swap to that piece of shit - N20

In the City give or take 11-13 liters, depending on the flow of traffic and constant deceleration and acceleration

Which one do you recommend?
Well, 528i with 8speed automatic seems to be the best choice. 6speed Manual transmission isn't good compared to the luxurious character of BMW F10.
535i costs much more on service, but the dynamic point of view is honestly on the next level. It's up to you, if you prefer atmospherical character of 528i or pure acceleration of 535i.

Be sure the injectors are good. Very expensive and you must change them all 6 if older versions are fitted.
And oil consumption is high by design.
n53 is a piece of shit. Whole injection system is a one big failure. Injectors, fuel pumps, Nox system. Even fuel return pipes could give frustrating sounds.

@@zhila5958 Cat converters, oil consumption, DISa, Vanos, integrated oil vent into valve cover, timing chain, ev water pump. I wouldn't wish my worst enemy to buy this engine. Did you choose N52 or another?

Average Bro hello, 528i is great, but I would recommend you to buy much more interesting 535i which is also more reliable due to issues with injector in N53

what is the real fuel economy on this car in the city center ? .. im looking into it but i drive only in the city center all the time and i dont know what to expect since i only owned diesels up to now
I have a software tuned 523i, with the same n53 3.0 litre engine, with 265 hp. In town it's 10-11 L/100km. On longer trips i managed to get 6.7L/100km. Combined around 8-9L

i recon around 250 even without limited, fastest i have had ours up to was 235, and i don't think there was more than another 15kphs in it. Its not really all that powerful of an engine, just beautifully smooth

No. It's an N52
Sababa Hummus this is in Europe, so it's the N53. Only markets with high sulphur level fuel has N52. North America is one of them.
