I have a yorkie, passed last May 2021 but he is a ball of fun very active, playful, always ready to go on a walk and play.oves to play catch and fetch. He is very smart and loving . He is always there at the door to greet me when I come home fr work. I miss him.

Hi Ella is so adorable and cute, I love watching her run around and play. I had a Yorkie for 14 years called Maisie she was such good fun and we loved her so much. Towards the end was very hard as her quality of life wasn’t there and was advised by the vets to have her put too sleep, she lost her sight and arthritis in her leg towards the end she got an infection. It was a hard decision but on the day we was told ,we took her home to spend the day with her lots of cuddles photos and she could eat anything she liked we was with her right to the end in my arms. It’s been 6 weeks now and the house just doesn’t feel the same. I hope I can get another Yorkie as they are so loving

Just great to hear you say " The energy is constant," My little one can keep up with most dogs, including whippets. She is hilarious and yes loves to play with her squeeky toys re ratting. She's very clever as you say, and we spent hours training her. she has great recall thank fully ( most of the time) I worry she gets bored on her own, so I send her to my friend who dog sits maybe twice a month for a few days I want the best for her.. She gets to socialise with many other dogs which is great and gets 2 fantastic runs through fields and woodland twice a day in a pack just being a dog!.Then home and straight into our quieter routine. I miss her when she's away but she's so happy with other dogs. So.. I am so glad you mentioned this. This is great thanks Jenny and Daisy. Ps she's my 3rd. over the years. x

She certainly does. I showed the items like that so the camera knows where to focus, but yes Ella isn’t a fan of being brushed and gets super excited for her toys! 🐕💕
What a cutie pie! I became a Yorkie mom when I started dating my now husband. Bentley was in my life for almost 7 years. He lived to be almost 17 years old. We had to let him go on June 2021 because of inoperable bladder cancer. I grew up with dogs all my life but they were all large breeds, so Bentley was my first small dog. He was the most loving, loyal, funny, most frustrating, unpredictable, sassy dog I've ever had. I wouldn't change it for anything. His passing has been the toughest and most painful thing we have ever experienced. When we are ready for another pup, we may consider a Yorkie. Thank you for sharing your beautiful Ella with us.

Yorkies rule ! I have had three Yorkies in my lifetime. Still have a female who is 15 years old. Yorkies have the cutest personalities. I enjoyed your video because it is very accurate. I see other videos here on YT about Yorkies and can tell these folks have never owned a Yorkie. They love people and attention. Your tip about socialization is very important for any breed of dog. Take your puppy in public to see people and other animals on a frequent basis. It will make them a more friendly and less anxious pet. My first Yorkie was small like Ella. His coat was unique. It was blackish gray and and soft white. He was a beautiful boy and everyone wanted to pet him. Unfortunately, we did not get him until he was a year old and he was never socialized. Every time someone would try to pet him, he would snap at them but not bite them. he lived to be 17 years old and was the love of my life.
Some folks say Yorkies are hard to house train. I have not found that to be the case. You do have to spend time training them to do their business outside. You are also correct about their teeth. So if you are able you should have their teeth cleaned every 2-3 years. Also give them treats and rawhide chews that are designed to clean their teeth. If you love animals, you will never be disappointed in owning a Yorkie.

@@PemDanis I totally agree! We have had a German Shepard before, but not for that long. This is the first dog that all of the little ones get to enjoy. The oldest kids were the only ones to enjoy the German Shepard.
@@thegrahamsway2120 Wow, a German Shepard was probably a very different dog experience I am guessing. Ella is my 1st dog, as I started off with a fish, then a hamster, then a cat now finally a dog, she's my little bestie. How lovely your whole family can enjoy your new puppy together 🐶💕

She is a nice pup.. My pup is about 2 kilos (4.4lbs) .. I have given my pup bones since she was a pup so she has strong teeth . She was a surprise and I raised her on chicken, eggs, bacon , beef , venison, pork , blueberries, pumpkin.. my pup was raised like we raise our working dogs so she is like a steal brick.. I have a couple videos of Dessii.. I agree these Yorkies give so much love .. Dessii is 3 now .. the little tennis balls are her favorite. Cool video ..

Awe she's gorgeous. Lovely little video. Sadly I had to have my beautiful pug put to sleep at the beginning of the month. She had liver cancer and unfortunately from biopsy to surgery (3 week time frame) another tumour had formed and it had spread to her spleen and kidneys.
Yesterday I went to see Yorkie pups. They were gorgeous and for my sins, I bought 2. I have the land and a big house to accommodate 2 bundles of tasmanian devil. As a teenager I have a yorkie so I know what I'm letting myself in for......I cannot wait.

My Yorkies name is Chloe. She’s 7 and the greatest friend . I can’t wait to get home every day from work just to be with her. She learned early to go on a pad which is great when there is snow outside. I still walk her everyday just to exercise her. She goes for her “ pedi pedi “ every 6 weeks at Petco and will only let Cheri groom her. 👍

She is bigger than mine. I lost him 2 years ago at 15 years old. Healthy til the last year. He was 2 & 1/2 lbs his entire life.

Ella's absolutely precious. I have a 6lb yorkie girl with the most amazing personality. She can be very independent and stubborn but she is absolutely loving. She is a service dog for me but she thinks she is a Doberman as she is always right there with her big brother "guarding" the property.

You are so good with all the experience and knowledge about loving and taking care of a dog, particularly a Yorkshire Terrier! It helped me to think about whether I should get one or not. I think I will get a Bichon as I did before!

I will do better this time and apply what I learned! I need to spend more time with them and train and play with them to keep them occupied. There are some things that make it hard for me to get them but I am praying for the perfect sogs forme as my first dog Rollie was. Grace and peace to you and your family and friends!
@@annikakim9563 We definitely learn along the way. I find walks really help keep Ella happy and a lot of playtime. I like what Ceaser Millan says "we don't get the dog we want, we get the dog we need", our dogs come into our lives and teach us what we needed to learn. Happy holidays to you and yours 🎄

Thinking about adopting but I'm not feeling well & I will see. But I miss Elvis & my 2 other Yorkies. @@PemDanis Yes Noodles already had her name, her hair was very long when we got her and she did look like a pile of wet noodles lol, after that I kept her short same as my others

@@PemDanis Mine came with the name Bentley , I decided to keep it .He makes friends wherever we go , he just loves all people and he lets them know it . Even people stopped next to us in traffic are laughing and pointing at him because he is looking out the open window and wiggling he is so excited to see people . Nothing like my rescue dogs ! They could care less about other people . Yes he brings me joy and laughter every day , and other people too !

Ella is so cute, Great video there was lots of handy tips. There defiantly a lot of research you need to do before getting a dog. We have to get our dogs the strong toys as they destroy everything else 😅

. My yorkie is very hyper and will easily chew through soft toys, especially the squeeky ones. She loves the squeak but she will get at the bottom of the squeaky tool to get to to break the sound kill the squeak and go to next squeaky toys. They are terriers so feel squeaky toy is another animal to destroy.

But when my son was two, she got hit by a car and died within a few minutes. I am a dog lover, but my son is enough responsibility for me right now. @@PemDanis Yes he did. He was the best grumpy little dude ever, and I miss him everyday since he's been gone. His name was Thumper. He loved to sniff out mice & found a mice hole in my home. He only lived till about 12. I wasn't ready for him to go :'( Never ready. He is irreplaceable. It's been 9 months and my heart still aches. I only met him after he had lost most of his teeth. He was around 4yo. I wasn't ever sure if he was purebred, but I think he was because of his features & characteristics. Please spoil your fur baby with tons of fun everyday & never have any regrets of not spending all your time and energy with her. Take her out to places, beach, park, everything. Their time with us is so short. :'( Please make the best of it.

So interesting that Thumper lost his teeth around the same age as well. Thumper from Bambi because when he was found, his hair was so long, his ears were so big & furry, everyone thought he was a bunny with the way he ran with that docked tail too that really resembled a cotton tail LOL. He's one of the best thing that ever happened to me. Hope your fur baby is the same for you. She is super smart and cute. :) Embrace her and make beautiful memories!

My Tink is 11 weeks old, what is the best advice for extending healthy teeth? I got her after my husband passed and she is such a blessing! I have her on tiny paws science diet for puppies. We are potty training and id never used a clicker method, she actually seems too little for the treats i have for her, cant chew them yet. Any other recommendations?
Hi Sissy, definitely speak with your vet. I would say get Tink used to toothpaste on the finger and progress from there, make it a fun positive experience regularly in there routine. I am so sorry to hear about your husband. I am sure little Tinks is such an amazing blessing in your life. Also go into the puppy section in the pet store for treats and ask the staff for help, they usually love dogs if they’re working in a pet store and would be more than happy to show you all the relevant products for sweet little Tinks xx
@@PemDanis Thank you, I will get her use to toothpaste, I've ordered her some puppy paste. Our out store employees were less than helpful but I did do some research and have ordered her some teaching chews.

Most small breed dogs need dental care in order to keep them healthy. It's common for them to loose their teeth if not regular cleaned by a vet. My 10 year old Havanese has had her teeth cleaned regularly and still had to have some teeth pulled.
Same here, my dog had her regular vet dental care and still they had to remove her teeth sadly. What is your Havanese called?

Yes they're very active and want to play all the time 24-hours if they can get away with it my Lucy was the runt of the litter as well she is the half size of her brothers and sisters but she's in perfect loves playing with children but not with other dogs she prefers human company than dogs and cats she's a bit selfish like she's over 3 years old but looks like you're doing a fantastic job with Ella keep up the amazing channel it's amazing

You clearly live your Ella. She is beautiful. They can be stubborn but love you amd follow you everywhere. They love playing all the time, going for walks. They have a lovely personality and so intelligent. Training is a wheez. Larger than all her siblings and loved her siblings. We saw it at the parting of the ways, aa if she knew she is going to her new home.

Depends who is selling, puppy mills are cheap but they are unethical & cruel to dogs, rescue shelters are not expensive & pedigree pups from the kennel club can be pricey but you know they are loved and cared for if you buy through the kennel club website, which has a list of approved breeders 🐕💕

Hi Angelin, Ella is a purebred Yorkshire Terrier. There's actually no such thing as a teacup Yorkie (its a marketing term), if they are bred too small on purpose they can get major health problems. My Yorkie was runt of the litter and that’s why she is so small

@@PemDanis She seems to have the same energy as my Yorkie. He could walk for hours. Besides, if you don't spend time with them outside, Yorkies get depressed. I once saw a couple give a Yorkie to the 80 year old father. I wanted to cry, because this Yorkie was doomed to spend the rest of his life in an apartment... People think they are doing the right thing, but they need to find out what kind of dog is compatible with their lifestyle.

My mother bought him for her in 2006, but he chose me as his "master". He always wanted to sleep with me and he followed me everywhere in the house. My mother understood... I took care of him until May 2022. It was the center of my universe, literally.

What everyone needs to know is that Yorkshire terriers are not lap dogs, they are hunters. They are also the most difficult dog to train.
Thats so true, My Ella does love a little lap time but she is a ratter and enjoys practicing her hunting skills with her toys, she is very stubborn but was easy to train when I realised she will do almost anything for a treat 🐶🍪

Tea cups are a cruel industry. Yorkies as far as I know were always small dogs that live longer than their large dog relatives.

Teacups are from an industry in which the runt of the litter is bred over and over to produce dogs merely for tiny size and no concern about health. Tea cups don't have much energy like a full sized dog and have major health issues. My Yorkie Anthony passed away recently and I am thinking about getting a girl Yorkie after seeing your Ella.
