Great video Lewis. Very informative content. I also really enjoyed your fantastic editing creativity. I have very limited knowledge of The Beatles. You have clearly done your research Buddy. I'm very much looking forward to Part 2. I've now subscribed to your channel and also hit the Bell. Keep up the good work Buddy 😎👍 .........Dave
I'm surprised you did not touch on "Silent Homecoming". I think it's the darkest tune he ever sang. Excellent story telling with a point and Ringo's delivery is perfect. Sad but not too melancholy. Mostly resigned. It's the odd duck on this country album but fits perfectly as the last track. Not surprisingly written by Sorrells Pickard who also wrote $15 Draw which is a favorite of mine.
I wish I had gone more in depth in regard to a track by track analysis rather than cherry picking, but I’ve learned the error of my ways and in part 2 I’ve taken the time to review every song so I leave no stone unturned! I completely agree with you though and I must also confess $15 draw is pure class
PART II IS NOW LIVE GUYS AND GALS!! This is dedicated to those of whom requested it and to those of whom enjoyed this instalment and stayed til the end! Due to copyright issues however it does inform me that it is blocked in some parts of the world but doesn’t tell me where sadly but I hope you can access it and learn/enjoy et Al. Here you go! ua-cam.com/video/67xMwwIMbGk/v-deo.html
I truly ADORE Bye Bye Blackbird from Sentimental Journey. Wonderful arrangement by Maurice Gibb. Paul McCartney's 2012 take on the song pales in comparison
Hi Lewis, have you read 'You Never Give Me Your Money' by Peter Doggett? It's about the financial/business aspects of the Beatle's breakup. He writes that in the same year, Ringo released Sentimental Journey and Beaucoups of Blues he planned to release a third album of electronic music. Ringo was quoted as saying something like "I wanted to confuse the people." Could you imagine a Ringo Starr electronic album in 1970? I like the point you made that Ringo had the opportunity to do any kind of music he wanted to whereas the other Beatles had to more or less continue doing what they were already doing. I had the same notion. Take good care.
Hey Darryl, I can’t say I have but I should be interested to check that out! Oh indeed Starr would’ve been well ahead of the curve jumping on the electro stuff, he could’ve done well to collaborate with Kraftwerk! Still he pioneered a few things nonetheless I feel. Glad to meet a like mind good buddy, i have part 2 now published and good to go should you wish to take a look in: ua-cam.com/video/67xMwwIMbGk/v-deo.html
John's last album was double fantasy and that was 1980 nothing was released after 1980 so 1984 is completely wrong this man needs to do more research if your gonna try to educate people on the solo careers of the beatles
Double Fantasy was the last to be released in his lifetime, Milk and Honey was released posthumously in 1984, with John Lennon’s material on the album being recorded between Oct to Nov 79 and Aug to Dec 80
@Lewis Samuels that's right but he didn't record anything after 1980 like the guy was implying just didn't want folks getting confused making folks think he was killed by that coward piece of trash not even gonna mention his name to give him the satisfaction of what he wanted
good job Lewis....hats off to you!
Love don’t last long is one my favourite song on Beaucoups Blues

I'd love to hear the All Starr Band do a live version of $15 Draw.
