- This is my favourite opener for Germany. Quick, easy and a great setup for a world conquest. You should be able to replicate it easily! If you try to use it, let me know how it worked out for you.

mefo bills must be worth to keep. it costs so little pp to worry about
Maybe, but they go away when you go to war and I wanted the PP early. And I think that if you let them disappear by going to war, there is a PP penalty or something like that.
The penalty is for consumer goods I think, so after you stop being at war you have increased consumer goods ratio for a few months. The event is something along the lines of ‘MEFO companies demand repayment’ or something similar

What actually mefo bills means should it be canceled or not?
I wouldn’t cancel them, you get so much PP as it is and you can use Austrian, Czech, Doanish AND Yugoslavian gold to reduce the cost of
@@knockout3780Mefo Bills HELLA speeds your military factory construction speed, but drains a small fraction of your political power as a consequence.
If you’re rushing military factories, certainly keep Mefo. Get rid of it after if you want,
for less of a political power drain.
@@knockout3780 In most plays you shouldn't cancel then since you need that buff to rush your industry, you can get all the political power you want after it since Germany doesn't have as many options that drain your power like other nations. When the war is over you get a pretty bad industry penalty but it lasts like 70 days only

I'd love an opener for the Soviets since they have the paranoia mechanic to juggle with.
The only thing I can say regarding the paranoia... rush down to end that as fast as you can, as you'll either start losing valuable generals and advisors or suffer extremely with regards to PP though the Moscow trials will still rob you of a good many generals and advisors.
But in spite of this, Stalin himself more than makes up for what is lost due to his bonuses he eventually gets but needlessly losing people is never worth it.
Justify Turkey and rush Southern Thrust then go after japan to bypass yearly economic plans and get comecon super early with juiced up puppet industries
@@thegreatestdane8978 I think you can just tell him to not kill but then the paranoia spikes at its max and he's basically everyday telling you about a traitor, you can keep telling him to not worry but there are some events where you are forced to choose who to kill. Once I got forces to choose between Zhukov and other good general 💀💀
It takes less pp if you justify for 3 states on Indonesia and 1 on Poland. There'll be just a 25 day difference in between they finishing
A bit more world tension though, danger of guarantees. But maybe still under the treshold? If there are no guarantees with this change, then it is a good one.
Here is another opener that I usually do:
-Fall back line and abandon Bavaria
-Declare war on france
-Use the motorized and tanks to rush the maginot
-Encircle most of the french army in Bavaria
-Full annex, take ships
-Justify on luxembourg
-Declare war, UK should also be called in the war
-Invade UK
-Take everything except London VP
-Now u can go ham and have 25 day war goals
-After that just take a bit of the Canadian provinces in the East so you can have a border with USA
-Conquer USA
The rest is up to you

I have over 250 hours in hoi4 and I have never been able to win the war as Germany. I spent so many games going through the focus tree and slowly building up what I thought was perfect division templates only to be stopped by Belgium.
This video has led me my very first victory over the Allies and I did it before the Spanish civil war ended. Thank you for sharing your strategy! Early justifications, especially on the Netherlands, is a game changer and leaves Germany in a much better position than following the focus tree.
Don't worry, people with 1000+ hours still cheese to win with Germany. There's even an achievement based around Germany cheesing WW2, don't die for your country.
Speaking of which, if you want to improve your gameplay significantly, try to go for medium/hard achievements on ironman. It'll teach you how to play better when you do certain things with countries you'd never do otherwise.
Just build solid armour divisions width 34-35 like 5-10 of them and make encirclements following the railroads and supply hubs

Wonderful opener. I personally like throwing tanks at people so I would probably invest a bit in tank research etc., but I really enjoy the wargoal juggling because that is something I forget to do most of the time

But I'll give it a try.
Just a small correction for this great opener: Spy networks rise faster if you stack them in one province. Spreading them out is only good if you want the buffs while you invade

It's great, but i do this a bit different. Because of the faction war mechanics, if you are in war with at least one major nation you can justify very fast (10-25 days), justify on european minors and if it's ready declare war on them. Through the whole process you must be in war with England or France by delaying their capitulation. If you declared on all minors that you wanted you can end the war and all of the countries will capitulate even if you don't touch their lands.
For example: you do what you did in this video, but you don't finish england, you just encircle London. That way England will stay in the war and it won't trigger the peace conference. Then you justify on Portugal, Lithuania, Bulgaria, Greece, Yugoslavia etc...Once you are in war with whole Europe you just have to march into London and capitulate the half of the world.
This is a good strategy and I have used it before. But it's risky and more advanced. I wanted to make an opener that is reliable and easy for everyone. Your method is good, but can easily backfire on a less experienced player. If another country, like the Raj or Sweden, becomes a major power, then you have to capitulate them too and the whole plan falls apart. Or if USA join before you annex Canada.
I prefer to take out the allies completely first, get their economy and fleets. Then I do the quick justifications later, while fighting either USA or USSR.

Paratroopers for operation sea lion, drop a couple on a couple port tiles and you are bound to get one and getting air supremacy is usually much easier than naval
My opener is 36 through Frances maginot. You lose about 7k soliders to take over france, get a big af navy and resources galore to build up
Why early justify on Poland? Poland is a pushover at any time...If you do 'Danzig or War', you get cores.
Economy mostly. You may as well do Netherlands and Belgium instead. Or Netherlands and Denmark - this might be even better with the navy.
Taureor your strat is great because it's simple and it doesn't require bothering with the navy.
However the thing about fighting the allies in hoi4, especially against ai britain is that they are just so bad at defending their home islands. It's not even about having a big navy or an op strat, I've had games where they just don't bring their navy out or do so for some time and then when I remove my fleet they vanish as well. It's arguably easier to take out england through the english channel than it is from the north sea

Could be. If people like it. The concept was to make an effective, but simple opening that anyone can replicate without being very experienced.

*this* is some good HOI content - though I personally would be more interested in how to do this as minor nations since I generally don't have problems winning against the AI as majors

you can also get enough naval supremacy in the English channel by simply putting all your ships over the channel. It works like a charm every time.

Demilitarization means you can't put troops there. They will not enter the area, even if you tell them to.

The reason you lack some infantry equipment is that you entirely unnecessary waste it when "deploying your divisions early" as untrained cav, and THEN exercise them to level 2. They would deploy perfectly fine as infantry and be level 1 already. Such "early deployment" is only usable when going for focuses that require army in the field. Otherwise it is a gimmick that helps you waste equipment.
I wouldn't say it's a waste. If I just trained infantry and let it deploy when ready, I wouldn't have everything deployed in time. I would save equipment, but at the cost of having a smaller army in the field. Which is a valid choice, but I prefer to deploy early.

Have you tried this with non-historical? It looked like a fun way to start Germany, but in non-historical
- at least two times the world tension spikes from ... was it from 10 to 30 or something and Poland just insta joins Allies (Thou Poland turning into a kingdom could cause it?
- Even with mefo bills down it seems the initial pp investment cripples any chance to help Spain, who in non-historical is much less likely to win civil war alone ( this one could be just my skills, but the 200 pp before starting any military advisor stuff and such seems to leave my 3 - 4 units in spain in weak condition.)
- Without Rheinland done there is a chance Anchluss gets bypassed or Hungary makes some wacky move, since it takes so long.
- All the sweet sweet oil from east is gone, if all targets in this attack joins Allies.
Have you or has anyone an idea, if this is at all applicable in non-historical path? Could there be other target like Sweden that will not join as easily as Poland? Does Rheinland cause so much tension, that it is instantly a fail to go to war without Allies?

Wouldn't a justification on the czechs and then paratroop france be more viable? that gives you a bigger fleet and the romanian oil for yourself for the british invasion
Another strat is to justify on DEI then justify on Yugo (sequential not parallel). The events that follow are a mid to late Oct 36 defeat of The Netherlands and a late Feb/Early March war with France, Czech, Romania & Yugo which is an easy win if you can Micro.
Paradrops are finecky. I wanted to make a simple one that everyone can use. Sure, you can paradrom France, then go after UK, but it's a more advanced strategy
No free trade early? Germany doesn't need the resources early and huge boost from limited exports. I also like to grind List in Spain, I know he's not a brilliant strategist, but he's level 2 so you can get Adaptable pretty easy.
Should do this for Soviet Union as well

As long as they are cancelled before the war it should be fine, so maybe cancel after the first tick then
Really excellent guide man. I feel like if I’m going to play brown party Germany, i prefer to keep to a historical-ish timeline. Just my personal preference, but if it’s “anything goes” it gets so easy, get rubber oil from DEI, etc. Germany is so damn easy it feels like cheating either way
Unsure of how this works. I've done four attempts so far, and either the UK or France sends a guarantee on either Poland or NL, sometimes both.
Did you justify later than I did? Did you justify in the netherlands, or the dutch east indies?
@@Taureor Yo thank you for the reply! I did justify around the time you did (first playthrough I did not tho). The issue for me became that by the time the declarations were ready, the UK had already placed its guarantees in the meantime. It may have been quirks in the playthroughs due to Japan or China, but I'll try again and see if I can get it more exact.

Side note, is it just me or does anyone else think that invading the Soviets is the easiest part of the game? All I need is one army group (5 Armies 99% infantry) and I can literally leave for an hour and come back to a peace deal lol
If you build the divisions right and assign air to the armies it’s an absolute joke

How necessary are collab governments? I don’t have the LR dlc
They help, but are not necessary. Without a collab government, you will have less compliance and it will take longer to capitulate UK. That's about it.
Man this method is bs, I got further with this than I ever got doing a mostly historical path (except I do sealion before the soviets). Thanks :)

How do you take a fleet after conquering? I feel like I’ve been missing out.
There are tabs on the left in the peace conference
you need the DLC By Blood Alone which allows you to take enemy ships in peace conference.
If you don't have BBA then you puppet 1 state and take everything else, the puppet keep the navy and you can later annex it and take everything (stockpile, navy, etc.) via the puppet system.

Annexing the Netherlands and especially their juicy resources and puppeting Poland is my favourite alongside prolonging the outbreak of WW2 unnecessarily long always was my favourite. It screws up the whole game but whatever.
