The last part is absolutely ridiculous. So many women have been murdered because of that attitude. If a man knows that a woman is completely helpless (parents refuse to help or support her, listening to advise like what u gave), he WILL 100% take advantage and harass her mercilessly - force her to transfer all salary to him, thrash her up if he feels like (and claim she was being disrespectful to him bcoz she did not wear makeup), kill her and then make false claims that she was having an illicit affair - all these r real life incidents I have seen personally, except that it was an attempted murder and not a successful one. (And there r men who try to take weird pictures of their wife to sell them for money - still not common in India though). Ur advise is dangerous n parents will have their daughter's blood on their hands if they were capable of helping, and yet didn't help. And so will u who asked them to do so.
