You could add to the video that the waitlist for JSV appointment is different for different regions in India. For example, the waiting time for the region served by Kolkata is only 1 to 2 weeks. However, the waiting time for North India region served by New Delhi is ~9 months. Yes, 9 months. It’s even longer for Chennai embassy. I have experienced this first hand.
Sure, thanks for the suggestion.

HI, Great thanks or all of your informative videos, exceptional work. I got job seeker visa appointment in chennai on 18th June (after one year waiting time, got it). You said 90 days max time they will give to reach Germany, does it means 90 days from 18th June (appointment date)? Is it fine I say I want to travel from Oct 1 (so that I will get atleast 3 months next year to mitigate risk of year end holidays). I hope in the appointment date itself we have to give hotel stays and insurance dates to specify exact dates of travel
Hello, congratulations on getting the appointment.
Well the travel date should be within next 3 months of the appointment date, if you are choosing a later date then they will wait to stamp the visa, as the stamping can only happen if the travel date is in next 3 months.
I hope that helps!
All the best!
Regards,
Gurpreet
Yes, it's informative content. Thanks. And shall I take PCC also before moving to Germany?
Not required
Thanks for the detailed video.
In the VIDEX form
1. I don't have a surname/family name, what do I fill in the "Family Name" field as it is a mandatory field.
2. Under 'Subsistence and residence details', should we select the checkbox 'Will you maintain your permanent place of residence outside the Federal Republic of Germany?'
3. In the Additional Contact information form, what should I fill in the "Barcode" field?
Thanks in advance!
1. Use one as per passport
2.Yes
3. Nothing keep it blank
All the best

@etinGermany
Thanks for the reply, I have another question
Is it mandatory to fly to Germany once we have JSV stamped? What rules apply?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I plan to take the German JSV interview(scheduled for next week), submit my passport and continue applying for jobs from India, once I get some positive responses and get calls for further interview rounds, I would quit from the current employer and travel to Germany on JSV.
I'm afraid to quit the current job and land in Germany without having any interview calls.
Please add your suggestion.
Thank u sis

Hello Gurpreet, Great video and amazing information which I didn't find anywhere else (atleast so far). Thank you very much.
I have question, if my spouse and kid travel with me, I believe I need to get Schengen visa for them. Are you aware of it?
I was discussing with Swiss friend and he told me that Berlin has lot of Govt offices and related jobs, so it would be bit more difficult to get job there without German language.
He recommended that I should start with Munich or Frankfurt areas. Did you feel the same while you were in Berlin?
Hi Ankit,
Thank you so much for your feedback!
Here are the responses to your queries.
1.Spouse and Kids are not allowed to travel with the job seeker visa, it is only for you. Yes, they can apply for Schengen tourist visa and accompany you in the period of 6 months.
2. Regarding the location, it totally depends on what role are you looking for. Berlin has lot of IT jobs and start ups, Frankfurt has more finance related jobs. However, I would say if you come on a job seeker visa do not restrict yourself to one city, you can be in one city ( preferably which has low of cost of living for example Berlin) and apply for jobs all over Germany.
We can look into your role and create a plan of action on how to help you get a job in Germany. If you are interested then do let me know.
I wish you all the best!
Regards,
Gurpreet

I have a question regarding the job seeker visa. I completed my Master's in 2011 and began my career as an assistant professor in the field of mechanical engineering. Recently, I changed my profession, and I have been working as a software engineer for the past year. Am I eligible to apply for a job seeker visa? Please clarify this for me.
Hello Ma'am
Do I need to provide Proof of Accommodation if I am already having Declaration Of Commitment from my Native German Friend. And do I need to Provide Sufficient Funds ? Cause in JSV Check List its mentioned that we either need Block Account or Declaration Of Commitment (verpflichtungserklärung).
Nice
Thanks
Very informative. Please tell ho did you show your work experience letters as well as current employer's job? Have you left your Indian job before moving to Germany?

Hi Gurpreet can you explain a bit more on Accommodation ? how do we show proofs for 6 months as booking a bnb or hotel is gonna be too costly to even show as proofs ? also is letter of recommendation from university required ???
Hi Sonal,
Well you can book a refundable hotel which you can cancel later on if needed. However, we need to show the accomodation for 6 months for JSV. In case you are applying for a student visa then yes the letter of recommendation from the university is required.

Great video! very informative. I was wondering what is the processing time for a job seeker's visa by embassy after the appointment is done and documents are submitted? If I have an appointment on 1st feb, when will i get the visa in hand by post.
Hi, you can get the visa between 1 to 2 weeks, it also depends on the location but u can consider maximum within 3 weeks u should hear back from them. You have to submit your passport and then you get the visa via post. All the best! Regards, Gurpreet
What is the processing time for visa slot appointments in Bangalore pls. If the waiting list is from Apr 1st 2024? Let me know please?
Hello Gurpreet,
I have visa appointment on this 20th but I am confused from which date accommodation I have to book, the day from the appointment or after one month. Please provide me this information.
Hi,
Please provide the accommodation from the date of travel. For example if your visa appointment is on 30th march then u can take between 1 to 3 months of buffer and provide the travel date from either 1st May or 1st June or 1St July. Basically u can choose any preferred date of travel. However keep at least 2 to 3 weeks of buffer from the visa appointment date as getting visa can get delayed. I hope it helps.

Gurpreet
