lol!! I don’t throw anything away these days! It’s actually a 5 gallon bucket lid I’m using but same with any lid. Just different diameters. Thanks for watching!!!
Wow man! I never even heard of a disposable Tree stand before...I seriously thought it was part of a hubcap from the instagram pics. But that really came out awesome!
Thanks Dave!!! Haha, my wife bought a small pencil style evergreen for our porch. After the holidays I was taking it away and noticed the stand it came in and decided to keep it. lol
I'm wondering how that would look if you used some reflective tape to black out most of the inside of the cover so that light was only coming through all of the vents etc, but that excess light was bounced back.
That center hub needs a filler. A piece that contains an LED with small solar cells (like from a cheap calculator) to provide 2.5- 3 volts. When the light is on it activates the solar cell which powers the LED. Maybe they can charge up a capacitor bank or small Li battery to continue powering the LED when the overhead light is off. Also a fake (or real) security camera in that center housing would be cool. Oorrr...make the whole thing a holographic projector for whatever contrived purpose you can think of.
I mean, it's no egg slicer... but still very cool. Honestly great work and very cool way to take a pretty bland light and really add a lot of interest. How well does it light up your area? I've considered adding things to the recessed lights in my space, but I'm concerned with how much light stuff like this can block.
Thanks so much!! The light was actually too bright for my room and washed out a lot of my other lighting. I fixed that with a dimmer switch but it does block some of the light which is what I wanted. It gives just enough ambient light!
My wife bought it at Kroger of all places… I don’t have the manufacturer but one of the members on the Facebook SW room builders group found them. You can search there.
@@DockingBay327Build Great. Thank you. I'll check it out and look at my local King Soopers store (owned by kroger), when they start getting their Christmas merchandise in, which should be tomorrow. 😉
Great question!! It came with a live Christmas tree that my wife displayed on our porch. When the holidays were over I noticed the cool shape of it and decided to keep it. It was made to be temporary and thrown away once the tree dried up. Thanks for watching!!!
I’ll never throw another paint can lid away again. That came out awesome. Great job.

2022 will be the year of the Star Wars light covers/fixtures! lol
Yes!! lol
What a fantastically simple yet affective way to greeblify an existing light fixture fantastic idea and even better execution!!!!
Thank you Dennis!!! I’m really enjoying working with foam right now!! Lightweight, easy to cut and so much cleaner without all the saw dust!
I use the containers that hold the replacement ink cartridges, found those to be pretty interesting. Along with the toilet flange minus wax ring.
We’ll done sir! Wonderful
Thanks Brian!! Your suggestion for the beams will be incorporated soon!
Wicked cool, Tony!!! Thank you for sharing this light build with us, brother!!

I love how the paint and weathering bring this all together. Awesome build!
Thanks so much Ron!!
Do you remember where you got the tree stand from or the manufacturer's name?

What does "disposable " mean? Lol. Nice light transformation.

Nothing is "disposable" to a prop builder.
You’re right about that!!!
