You know what's funny.... I actually refused to watch his content many times when UA-cam would suggest it, precisely because of how handsome he is. I totally discriminated against him being of any genuine spiritual value if "he's that hot" ...
How crazy is our programming, honestly! This happens to women ALL the time, we all know this, but here goes proof that it happens to men too. I'm SO HAPPY that I got schooled on this topic and I hope the lesson goes deep into my programming and sticks for ever :)
Ultimately what I realized is that I wasn't quite ready for the content and my instincts were making me click away, but on the surface my ego was totally taking credit for the decision even though it was judgemental, hahahahah.....

Simply being the "awareness" of our thoughts, rather then unconsciously attaching to them, is the end of ego. This will align you internally to the present moment, where your dreams will naturally manifest on the outer level. Your videos have been inspiring me to continue posting every single day and following my life purpose / dreams. Thank you Aaron! Much love. 🙏

Francis Trach : I'm not sure I understand you two guys? Aron is basically saying that all my actions find their causes in past conditioning and That I am not responsible for any of it. You Francis is saying that me being aware is the end of my Ego. Then thus would imply that by Ego assassination I suddenly gain the control I didn't have because the Ego is now gone. Which implies I am getting in control, doesn't it? So, after all, it is possible to be in control, no? Now, here is my take on the situation: As babies we are born with an evolutionary mechanism called the brain, which exhibit extraordinary survival abilities, but it is born completely empty and ready to be automatically programmed by it's surrounding events. On top if this I (my eternal aware spiritual being ) am completely neutral about what's happening down here in this physical world. I am here to live a whole experience, but I am not aware of the whole situation. It is only with time, during my life that this truth will slowly reveal itself, at one condition, if Me, I have , right from the start, this fundamental desire for love and compassion. Only then, will I , during my whole life, have a tendency to see live events and situations differently from the other human who's basic (Me, I) is not interested in peace, love, justice and compassion. And so, with the help of my intellect I will slowly realize that I am not alone, that I must not only help myself to survive but also contribute to the survival and wellbeing of all others. And this is the dead of the Ego. And this means that I must take a profoundly scary responsibility, that I am responsible for contributing to everyone's survival and wellbeing. That state of being is Illumination. This is the true dead of Ego. It hit you with a bombshell, or never will... I'd be really interested to get feedback on this from you guys.

@@jimviau327 I am not sure exactly what the question is, but I will share my thoughts / comments.
True control is when you become conscious of the unconscious. When you are unconscious, you're not necessarily in "true control", because the unconscious conditioning of the past is controlling you. This means that there is something happening that is driving your decisions, that you do not realize is controlling you in that moment.
When you can become conscious of the ego (unconscious thoughts that we're absorbed into, now it's not the ego anymore. Now you are just simply the observer of thoughts. This is true "control".
The more conscious you become the more control you have in your life.
Ego implies a lack of consciousness. It implies a false identification with thoughts, where there is no awareness that the awareness is attached to the thinking.
When you become conscious of the ego, and bring your awareness to it, that breaks the unconscious conditioning of the past, where it is no longer ego, but it's simply thoughts patterns / emotional patterns that you are aware of, and in the awareness IS the letting go.
This is true control, and freedom.
I hope this helps. My channel speaks more on this, much love.🙏

@@jimviau327 Some call it liberation. Some call it enlightenment.
What you said about genetic and environmental conditioning is correct, but only for the mind-body. There's something much deeper that's always been there, unchanging and unchangeable. Simply put it's awareness.
The path to liberation I'm familiar with is a combination of a firm intellectual grasp of separation between awareness and mind-body and direct experience through meditation.
Ask yourself this question: Who am I? If you identify 'I' with any aspect of the mind-body you haven't yet arrived.
Another way to think of it is the Buddhist analogy to space. It's always there, always has been there and always will be there. Clouds appear in space, linger in space for a time and then dissipate. Space exists with or without clouds. Clouds cannot change the nature of space, nor can they exist without space.
Now replace space with awareness and clouds with all physicality, including mind-body. At the deepest level of being you are space and at the surface level of being you are a cloud.

    • @jimviau327
      @jimviau327 5 років тому +1

JustASimpleGuy : Great analogy. I connect to that. I wanted to point out that when one attain "liberation" or "illumination" the fact that this new awareness is now separate from mind body, it imply that your mind and or body is no longer controlling you because you are now aware of it hence it's no longer a subconscious affect. Hence the concept of responsibility and determination . Which bring back the idea that your actions could then become determined by you, the I, the Me.

    • @justasimpleguy7211
      @justasimpleguy7211 5 років тому +4

@@jimviau327 Precisely! Here are two more analogies that resonate for me.
Soap Bubble - Blowing a soap bubble manifests it in space, enclosing a minuscule portion of that space. The space within and without always existed and always will exist. The nature of both spaces is one in the same. The soap bubble comes into space, is in space for a time and then dissipates. Again think of space as awareness and the soap bubble as mind-body and its connection to physicality and subjectivity.
For much of our lives we are mostly unaware of even the space within the bubble, engrossed wholly in the thin film of soap and water. Contemplative practices begin to connect us to the space within and a breakthrough occurs when we begin to connect with the space without.
We are not expanding awareness but simply connecting with more and more of awareness. We cannot expand something that is already boundless and timeless.
River - When you are in the river you cannot see that it is a river. When you are out of the river you can clearly see it is a river.
Consider the river as all physicality, all subjectivity both external and internal including mind-body.
Contemplative practices begin to slowly raise one out of and above the river.

Kryptonite is so much more interesting!

The ego having hijacked the biological fight or flight response, that's a good observation. For example, when we worry about say a personal financial problem, then the body reacts with stress similar to how to prepare for physical fight or flight. That's totally irrational because making the muscles in the body temporary stronger will hardly solve the financial problem.

TubeMeUpp : your sadness is just the product of you empathy towards others. Many simply seeks eternal pleasure, forgetting or absolutely have never been aware of the prison they live in, their own mind-body. Down here you either wake up ( perhaps by chance or desire) or you don't. And the real sadness lies right there. You don't wake up, it's sad, for you live in total ignorance of the prison. You wake up, it's sad, for now you realize suddenly in what mess you got yourself into, and from there start the slow and painful interminable journey toward , perhaps inattainable, liberation.

This is the first time I saw Aaron, I am impressed! I learned about forgiveness a couple of years ago from Louise Hay, it's a very difficult thing to do! You don't necessarily have tell people you forgive them as long as you feel it inside that you have, sometimes it's not possible as in my case my parents had died, but i forgave them and all people who I felt resentments to and I forgave myself for the things I did. I'm 57 now. I have never felt so content, happy and grateful, forgiveness is not condoning!! but it really does set you free! ❤x

I learned during shadow work that when I separated myself from people who we're betraying me and bullying me....i was still experiencing episodes of extreme worthlessness and hopelessness so I understood it better. I am currently recovering neglect and abuse and learning to recognize when and how I become the abuser. I got stuck in the idea that dark or negativity must be removed and only have light, but the idea is to realize the dark helps us see the light. If we new no evil, we wouldn't know the greatness of light thus creating gratitude

I loved this whole video especially the graphics showing how the Ego uses the body's flight or flight response to attach judgments, blame, guilt etc. and make it personal when it is totally impersonal. It just shows how cunning and adaptive the Ego has become over the centuries. I am doing my best to stay in awareness and observe the mind/body and clean up my own consciousness restoring it back to its original purified state. I have had my taste of who I am not (contrast), so I want to get back to who I really am - pure Divine Love. :-)

This is the best explanation of how trauma effects us as humans. I work with a lot of people with PTSD and substance use and I have never been able to put it so eloquently - the idea of guilt. Like I had removed a big fat blob of negativity from my self... I spent days in shock.. wondering what i would do with myself after this.... Cool message . I totally agree, especially about the projection of pain. My ex partner started doing this and I understand where it is coming from, but forgiveness doesnt mean you must stay around and be an emotional punching bag for them to project all their pain onto you. If you allow this it just means that you are not whole and that you need the drama to fuel your own pathologies. Having grace with someone may mean not allowing them to abuse you. Walking away can create a space for them to continue on their own path of healing. I am sad that she is gone, but I am not sad that I refused to reamain at the receiving end of the projections.

Today at certain point the forgiveness to the person just happened naturally without thinking I want to forgive them after I’ve been dedicating to inner work, learning the spiritual intelligence from Arron and building up myself mentally and physically for 3 months. I have deep compassion for them and feel sorry for their childhood. I feel I’m a beginner on this spiritual journey after I started watching Aaron’s videos. I am so grateful for your content. Thank you. 🙏 ❤

I've got to say, after watching hundreds of hours of vids like this, the explanation of ego "flinching" like the body avoiding past trauma is truly excellent.
I am far from a you-groupie, but good work fella!

Many moons ago I set my motivation to forgive others. It took time but eventually, I found myself choosing forgiveness with every thought of accusation on another. It became second nature for me to notice and reject accusations of others. And, I could feel the weight of holding someone's guilt over them. In fact, I started to see that I was actually holding someone else's guilt - inside of me - when I dealt with it.
But since that major epiphany and the subsequent breakthrough in my personal reality, I have come to understand something else which is just as profound for me.
When I literally stopped seeing others as the cause of evil in this world - "I" turned out to be the only cause left.
Maybe that's not the best analogy but somehow when others became innocent by default "I" seemed to be the focus of my ego's ire. It is like my ego finally gave in and allowed that others were innocent, on some higher level, but then it focused its attack on ME, The Self, That It, apparently, HATES.
I saw that, in reality, we focus on the guilt we perceive in others because that frees us (distracts us) of the guilt we believe of ourselves. That, it seems, is why true forgiveness is so unthinkable, at first. Because in practice forgiving others is easy, by comparison to forgiving yourself.
Forgiveness of self is the challenge of my life. And I'm still unsure that it is even possible or reasonable to do. My upbringing (I think) drove guilt and unworthiness so deeply into my psyche, at a level so basic, that it has proven seriously resistant to reprogramming. But Still, I know because I have seen beyond, where this world no longer rules, and the truth is - I am innocent, we all are.

I'd love to share what became clear on a new level while watching the video, the animal triggered this,
I recognise the egoic mind as a useful tool to realise the true nature of existence in oneness, union.
I, incarnated consciousness in this body in this present life time, have the capacity to realise the Self as such, as consciousness itself, experiencing through this body.
    Love 💖✨

This had to be the most concise examination of TRUE forgiveness. I've heard many people throuout my life say "just forgive them", but it wasn't that simple without a deeper introspection of the mind/behavior relationship. The ways you illustrated it aligns to the deeper truth of what it really is to forgive, not just bs lip-service.
