Chicken BBQ Taste Test | JUMBOEats

Chicken BBQ is a staple Filipino street food and Cebu is definitely one of the best places to sample it in the country! In this video, we will be making four different stops at some of the city's popular alternatives to well-beloved Matias, Trillis and Manang Fe which have proven themselves to be Cebuano institutions for BBQ.
We'll be checking out these spots today:
1) DICKONG - A southern Cebuano favourite, Dickong specializes in BBQ and Filipino dessert halo-halo. They are known to serve a free bowl of pochero soup to go with your BBQ! Delicious marinade and sauce poured over perfectly grilled chicken.
2) YAKSKI - This place is not only very popular as a drinking spot on weekends but also as a lunch spot for students and Capitol staffers. The delicious umami aroma coming out of their store is enough to pull anyone in! Their chicken skin BBQ is heaven on a stick.
3) BARBIX - I had heard lots of great things about this place but was a little disappointed with my visit. I went during a quiet late lunch when the place was empty so maybe it's better to go during the evening? The sauce might have been better had I paired my meat with some rice but the worst offense for me was the undercooked Hungarian sausage.
4) NED NANAY'S - Also heard great things about this place so I went in with some big expectations but was also disappointed. The chicken breast was the driest out of the four and the sauce was extremely sweet almost like it was just made of ketchup and a little bit of soy sauce. Finally tried some chicken hearts here though! Can't say I'm a fan of those either though.
