Im glad to know that it's possible to replace the fuel pump in my 05 after reading in my Haynes service manual that you have to replace the whole unit! Thanks for going to the trouble of making the video, very helpful
My fuel pump was bad, i replaced it with the one you bought and it worked intermittently. The wire connector that runs to the tank was bad. I would wiggle it and the pump would work sometimes and then not work.
The thingys are. Big black thing is the main fuel filter. The silver round thing is the pump which draws fuel from the bottom through the strainer and out through the top. Dont forget the fat o-ring on the top with the plastic spacer either or the system will leak fuel internally and have low pressure and same symptoms as this video started with. The “silver thing” at the top of the main filter is the pressured regulator/relief which dumps back into the tank when the pressure reaches something over 35PSI I believe. Could be a little higher. This is important and should be replaced with the pump and main filter as the problem could be any one of the three. Do not just replace the pump. The positive leads are important as the heavy one goes to the fuel pump which then earths out via the frame. The light one goes to the fuel sender unit and if you mix these up then the pump will not receive enough current to perform under load and you will experience the same problems again. Could have diagnosed this by placing tee piece into the main injector rail feed hose and a long piece of hose with a pressure guage on the end. Zip tie it to the fairing and go for a ride. If it drops off or shows lower than required pressure then you have a problem with your pump, filter or regulator. And thats all I have to say about that. 🤣
Fuel pumps are actually pretty reliable on these bikes. I have a 2003 cbr600rr and mine hasent given me any trouble yet. Im at 37,000 miles and counting. The trick is you have to ride your bike at least a few times during the year, if it sits around you will get problems especially if the bike is older.
Yes, very true. I had a 2005 cbr1000 and I got up to 42k miles before letting it go. Had zero issues with fuel delivery. Was my daily driver. This thing was sitting for over 6 years without a single ride 😳
My bikes an 03 Cbr600rr, just replacing the fuel pump now at 145,000kms/90098.823miles😅. Is this a quantum fuel pump bro and can you reuse the rubber seal?
Fuel delivery is much better, however I'm beginning to think my problem lies with the engine timing. For this reason, I've got to explore other causes.
Hey I have a 2008 cbr 600rr I was wonder if the 06 or 05 fuel pump Would fit mine. I am trying to get pick up the fuel from a store don’t wait to wait a whole week to get new one if u could please answer that thanks your video was very helpful!!
With peace and love Quick question if i say have a fuel pump with same flow rates but the overall length of pump is 1/4" longer than original will it work?
My fuel pump kit came with a rubber grommet looking thingy but doesnt look like it fits anywhere. Optional extra? Only place it looks like it fits is on top of the new fuel pump but the old rubber was still in the strainer bit n the new pump slid on fine
Unfortunately not.. couple things you can check: 1) idle screw 2) air filter 3) spark plugs (check compression while you're in there) 4) ignition coils 5) fuel pump 6) Vacuum hoses 7) air pocket in coolant (google Honda hunting idle) 8) iat sensor 9) map sensor 10) IACV valve 11) clogged fuel injectors 12) carbon build up on throttle bodies I'm starting to look into what changes at operating temp. So far, I know valve clearance can affect atf ratio, and I'm reading the idle screw is hooked up to a wax unit which can go bad. I'll put out another video chasing this problem. So far "honda hunting idle" has been the best Google resource. It's common across all their vehicles, not just motorcycles. Since this is an inline 4 engine, im hoping to find a thread somewhere out there. If I do, I'll share it.

Thanks for posting this. Very helpful to know what's involved before dismantling my own bike..
And how to put it back together!

You are a legend man thank you so much for this video!!
That thing that you keep calling some kind of jet is the fuel pump pressure regulator....
Kudos to you for making such a good guide, now I know how to replace it if mine goes bad.
Did you leave the white nylon bit on your old pump ?
Is it running well now after sorting out the fuel pump issue?

@@Campers_Anonymous 6 years? Yeah thatll do it lol. Also grats on that many miles on your cbr1000rr, impressive.

Only thing worth replacing with those miles is the cct👍 even then
Did you ever solve bogging
Problem??
What is the yellow thing called you connected the metal piece to at 23:16
Mate thats the best vid I've seen. Same as cbr 1000 mine is sludged up and I was not sure how it came apart from the base.. Great job mate. 😂
Didnt fix it did it? Very good video thank you for taking the time to help others god bless you

Read this out loud then make corrections it's hard to understand thanks .

Im pretty sure itll work, but it may prevent you from sliding the fuel filter on (between the pump /copper base) 26:05
Mine bogs on cold start after it's warmed up it don't do it ?
The little plastic part on top of the old fuel pump. Did you put in onto the new pump?
19:35 if you're talking about the white plastic piece, yes, that will need to be swapped over
@@moreclips805 cheers mate looking at doing my fuel pump within the next couple weeks so trying to grt as much info as i can before then
@2wheelGamer good luck brother!

@@2wheelGameronly grommet i remember there being was this one @8:55
So is quantum fuel pump workong fine? Thinking of buying one cause i have problems with my oem
Yes works great and its way cheaper. Definitely recommend
what could be wrong, I have a Honda 2004 600rr, it does not take the gas to the end
Asome bike man ! Habinh the same issue bro soo how did it run with tje new fuel pump ?
