Literally that same night he had ambushed the trio in the room of requirement and had proclaimed his loyalty to the dark side aswell saying “I’m Draco Malfoy, I’m Draco, I’m on your side” to a masked death eater so why only like an hour later would he completely defy his parents and Lord Voldemort by helping Harry like that? It makes zero sense. Not to mention the fact that throughout the entire series Malfoy is consistently shown to be a coward and act with self preservation as his main motivation…so again for this reason it would make no sense for his character to suddenly do the opposite

Here's a question I have: Did Marge ever actually meet Lily and James? If Lily wasn't in the bridal party at Petunia's wedding, and if Petunia and Vernon didn't even attend the Potters' wedding, the opportunities for them to meet and interact with Marge seem minimal to non-existent. Was she basing her hate entirely on her brother's descriptions?
@@joshsims9642 well one can assume from her presumtions and stature, the way she spoke about them haveing no idea what they had for occupations etc in the third book right before she balloon'd up that they had never met. What's the two things people talk about when they meet for the first time? 1, the weather and 2, what they do for a living.
There is no doubt that Harry reminded Petunia of Lily. Remember that Harry was described as looking like James but having Lily's eyes. Those eyes reminded Petunia every day that her own prejudices (as well as Vernon's) were the cause of her estrangement from her sister and that there was no way for her to undo what happened.
In late 1977, James met Lily's parents for the first time. Lily's father was initially wary and reluctant about meeting James because his meetings with Petunia's fiancee Vernon were not the best and he was wondering what if this one (Lily's boyfriend) is worse, but by the end of the meeting Lily's father's worries evaporated completely. *Mr and Mrs Evans found James (who had a great sense of humour) to be very charming and amusing.* James and Lily's father were both passionate about sports and they spoke non-stop about Quidditch and football. James would also low-key flirt with Lily's mother by calling her madame and he and Sirius (who arrived later on during the date) were singing to her "Happy Birthday you don't look your age" (it was Lily's mother's birthday and she looked quite young for her age), something which flattered Lily's mother. Lily's father (in a joking manner) warns them off: "Boys I appreciate your sweet gesture but don't forget, that's my wife your talking to." Both of Lily's parents (especially her father) really loved James as if he were their son. *Mr and Mrs Evans preferred James a lot more than they did Vernon and they got along a lot well with James than they ever did with Vernon, something which exacerbated Petunia's resentment and jealousy of her sister Lily even more.* Petunia was sick of her parents talking non-stop about Lily's boyfriend and what really broke the line for Petunia was when she overheard her mother saying this to their father: "To be honest, he (James) is a far better bloke than Petunia's boyfriend." What are your thoughts on all of this?
Don't remember if this is book, but in the movies when Marge said the problem was bad blood because of Harry's mother then Marge was also insulting Petunia too who had the same blood.
Petunia is laughing along politely as Marge speaks badly about James but when she speaks badly of Lily, Petunias smile disappears. Despite her jealousy of Lily she still didn’t enjoy having to hear someone speak ill of her. I always quite liked that moment
I think it would be lovely and Justice if one or more of Dudley’s kids had magical powers and those powers became evident before Dudley’s mother died and she knew,of it.
Something I remember reading somewhere: JK did concider Dudley having a magical child, and him being at Platform 9 3/4 in the epilogue. She decided against it in the end, because Vernon's DNA would've made it impossible for the magic to come out.
That's honestly my headcanon despite what JKR said. If she wanted that to be canon then she should have put it in the books. I have a whole scenario where Dudley has a magical kid. Dudley refuses to let his parents see them unless they can accept their grandchild for what they are, magical. Petunia actually does come to terms with it, love for her son and grandchild overriding her jelousy and resentment and she even starts going to therapy and deals with her jealousy issues over her sister. She realizes she probably would have gotten over them naturally, had Lily not died when she did, and that actually leads to a divorce with Vernon who won't budge.
I always thought it would be fun to write a sequel about one or more of Dudley’s children ending up being magically inclined and attending Hogwarts alongside their cousins. If JKR won’t write it, maybe someone else should! 🤣
I like the head cannons that have Dudley having a magical kid, and having a fairly civil relationship, occasionally communicating with each other; "Christmas card" terms, Harry offering assistance and guidance to Dudley, his wife, and their magical child. I've also read of a certain amount of the Dursley's vile attitude towards Harry was from him being a Horcrux, similar to when the trio took turns wearing the locket of Slytherin, and it negatively affected each them while wearing it, apparently Ron the most. Once Harry was no longer a Horcrux, the Dursley's might have grudgingly felt less animosity towards Harry, but a complete reversal of animosity wasn't ever going to happen.
I'm actually in the process of writing a "what if" fanfic about Dudley being a wizard. It doesn't really change the overall plot of cannon. But just changes certain scenes. Though there will be a change in the Dursley family dynamics.
To this day I truly believe Petunia is the worst character in the entire franchise. She couldn’t grow up and take care of her own nephew after her sister died. Her utter selfishness is baffling
I’ve long felt the same way about Snape. Yes, he loved Lily and he served as spy behind the scenes, but….he couldn’t grow up out of school boy grudge and took it out, not only an innocent 11-year old boy, but also pretty much every Hogwarts student who wasn’t in Slytherin. His bullying tactics made him a dismal teacher of potions. Harry usually did better without Snape looking over his shoulder and making snide remarks and taking points. Not to mention what he did to Neville on a weekly basis. Oh…and Hermoine. A model student. If any of his own house always had the right answer, he would be awarding points left and right, but he treated Hermoine with nothing more than disdain. And when her teeth were enlarged by Malloy, he said he saw no difference. What kind of a “teacher” says such a hurtful thing to a 14yo girl? Yes, Snape may have been the hero behind the scenes, but he too, did it for selfish purposes….because he loved Lily. But….he was still a total asshole.
She's not a great character at all, however Petunia does have some redeeming moments. For example when Vernon was going to kick out Harry following the dementor attack after she received the Howler from Dumbledore reminding her of the letter he sent her she insisted Harry stayed. Snape is complex, he's basically the definition of when Sirius points out that the world isn't split into good people and death eaters. Snape was on the right side, at least eventually but that didn't make him a good person, he was a victim of abuse and neglect and bullying and took it out on children, but he did ultimately give his life for the greater good. The worst character is Umbridge without a doubt, she's just evil to her core without any major reasons behind it. Even Voldemort has reason for some of his behavior, such as being stuck in a very depressing orphanage, being abandoned by his father, he was born of a love potion too. Doesn't excuse his actions but it does help understand them. Umbridge meanwhile wasn't born into particular hardship, and she became a spiteful, bigoted psychopath who wasn't just mean to kids like Snape but actively tortured them.
@@halfassfashion How do you come to that conclusion? Petunia was simply jealous. I rather doubt that their parents doted only on Lily. but Petunia was jealous and turned that animosity into open dislike and hatred of everything associated with Lily…up to and including their parents’ attention.
A lot of people overlook that both Vernon and Dudley were quite intelligent, and that Dudley was also athletically gifted despite his stature. Vernon had a rather successful career, and Dudley was accepted into a very prestigious school and performed well in boxing tournaments. Both were insufferable, but far from untalented.
According to Rowling, Harry and Dudley are friends, and thier kids get on great. Vernon forces Harry to pay back every penny they have spent on him and Petunia? Well, she has become somewhat nicer now, since they are on speaking terms and revealing some family secrets. I must say, some of this has surprised me a little.
Was Vernon Dursley Petunia’s TRUE love? Because to me, it seems they only “fell in love” because of their narrow-minded views on the world. Petunia’s narrow-mindedness stemmed from jealousy. If Petunia had NOT become overly jealous, I think she would’ve married some other Muggle. Or perhaps even a wizard.
This one was fun to watch and listen to. I have been out of the loop recently due to health issues but this one was a good one to come back to. Thanks and keep them coming. I enjoyed the longer video format.
I'd like to point out that Harry was unknowingly a Horcrux the ENTIRE TIME, so that might have influenced their behavior towards him if you consider how him, Ron, and Hermione all reacted when they were wearing the Locket in the majority of Deathly Hallows (Part 1 in the movies)
The peace of Voldemort's soul in Harry didn't affect any other people that lived with him in Hogwarts. It was only the abusive nature of the Dursleys in action.
@@harrysonaraujo9995exactly, if you wanna use the excuse that Harry being a Horcrux is the reason why the Dursleys were so awful then you have to apply the same rule everywhere else too. Why were Ron and Hermione not affected all those years? Or the other Gryffindors that shared the dorm room? The Dursleys were just mean, spiteful, narrow minded people, they would have been that way regardless. Harry being there just gave them a target Plus JKR actively discredited this theory anyway 🤷♀️
A theory of mine. If it was so that Dudley went to Petunias things after she died then isnt it save to assume that Vernon died befor her. Otherwise he would be the one going trough her things as her late husband and not their son.
Though Harry may have become a bit spoiled if he was raised by anyone else but his Aunt & Uncle, I have to believe like his dad James who was spoiled due to being an only child Would have matured and be much like his parents. Also, I believe he would have developed his mom's kindness and sacrificial devotion to those he cared about, as surely he would have still been repeatedly reminded of his mom's sacrifice to save and protect him and his dad doing his best to at least give Lily time to try to escape with baby Harry, as James did not have his wand with him when Voldermort arrived at their home.
If magic is a gene or whatever. What if Petunia had a dormant gene or something and Dudley had become a wizard? I wonder how they would have treated him.
Judging by the fact that they followed every rule in “Raising a Narcissist for Dummies,” he would have developed an obscurial. The harm Dumbledore spoke of was genuine, as there’s only one version of Dudley that could be “loved” by his parents. It’s to his credit that he overcomes the narcissistic abuse inflicted on him as the golden child. A lot of golden children don’t understand and grow up into narcissists themselves.
Thank you for this great video, I really enjoyed this one. I like to think that they retired abroad too. Here are some video ideas: 1 what is the difference between the titles of madam and professor e.g. madam pomfrey vs professor mcgonagoll 2 what is the biography of mrs Norris 3 does the education of students in maths, English and science cease as soon as they enter hogwarts 4 do any of the professors or staff have husbands or wives or relationships e.g. filch and madam pince. Thank you so much 😊
I believe the title of Professor is reserved for the witches at Hogwarts who teach (like Professor Trelawney and Professor McGonnagall) where Madam is for the ones who do not teach (Like Madam Pomfrey).
Something came to mind, I would like to believe that Dudley never apologized to Harry for the bulling before Harry saved him... That's why they always say in silence during visits
No. Tons of people were around Harry without morphing into abusive asshats. Also, chapter one of the Philosopher’s Stone is from Vernon’s POV. This is before Harry was left on the doorstep, and he’s just that hateful. Additionally, the negative effects of the horcruxes are a result of curses Voldy placed on them to protect them. That’s why Dumbledore died from the ring, but Ginny didn’t die from the diary. That’s why the locket was so burdensome to whoever wore it. It’s not the presence of Voldy’s soul, but the fact it’s cursed.
I've read of that possibility as one or more head cannons. If true, I don't think the Dursley's would experience a complete reversal of animosity toward Harry, especially Vernon, but I like to think that Petunia and Dudley might grudgingly feel less animosity toward Harry, especially after Vernon's death (which could be years before Petunia's death). As put in the video, on "Christmas card" terms.
With Dumbledore's famous comment about the Dursley's ruining Dudley, I have often wondered if Dudley might have become a wizard if his parents were not so negative. Dudley did actually see the dementors when they attacked him and Harry. I remember somewhere that ordinary muggles cannot see dementors though they could feel them. Am I crazy? I hope so.
I love backstories, so when I wrote This Peculiar Magic, I delved into what life was like for the main character before heading to the academy to study and live with others like himself. We get to understand the feeling of being the only person, it seemed, with his "affliction."
They were horrible, very hard to like. Petunia was jealous of Lily and she never did anything to overcome it. Vernon was just a real jerk. Dudley was a complete sod. They played their part in the books for us fans to hate. Great video.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I always had this fanfic idea that Dudley had a daughter that was neither witch nor muggle, but a third group, a witch hunter, a group that's immune to all magic an can cancel it out if they get to close to something magical. She has her father's prejudice but throughout the series she overcomes them by protecting her magical cousins. I even had a funny thought they become mini criminals where she disarms all magical security and her cousins uses his powers to steal stuff. Ron finds the humorous, reminding him of Fred and George and Hermione thinks they are a menace, in which they get her kid to join in the escapes, who is a squib, making a new trio.
I thought jkr wrote on pottermore the last time petunia and lily saw eachother was right after they were both married and vernon tried talking to james asking him what kind of car he drove and james made fun of him by describing his broom in detail. Amd that was the basis for vernon dispising him.
The first meeting between Lily, her boyfriend James Potter, and the engaged couple, went badly, and the relationship nose-dived from there. James was amused by Vernon, and made the mistake of showing it. Vernon tried to patronise James, asking what car he drove. James described his racing broom. Vernon supposed out loud that wizards had to live on unemployment benefit. James explained about Gringotts, and the fortune his parents had saved there, in solid gold. Vernon could not tell whether he was being made fun of or not, and grew angry. The evening ended with Vernon and Petunia storming out of the restaurant, while Lily burst into tears and James (a little ashamed of himself) promised to make things up with Vernon at the earliest opportunity. This never happened. Petunia did not want Lily as a bridesmaid, because she was tired of being overshadowed; Lily was hurt. Vernon refused to speak to James (who was trying to make up with Vernon) at the reception, but described him, within James’ earshot, as ‘some kind of amateur magician’.
My guess is that #4 would have been one of the first places the DEs scoped out and most likely put traps on the house if they didn't burn it down just out of spite. It would have been far too dangerous for anyone to go back. Unless someone took the time and the risk to break all the curses that might have been put on the house, it would have been better to burn it down and rebuild it.
I wonder if things would've changed if petunia was allowed to visit the wizarding world like how Hermione's parents were allowed to visit diagon alley in the chamber of secrets so petunia can at least experience the great things the wizarding world has to offer I think that would've been a great coping mechanism for her

A bit of trivia: Dursley is a surname that is derived from a place, and that town is called Dursley. There is a hill in that area, which Dursley sits at the northeast corner of, and that hill is called Stinchcombe Hill. Yes, and just around to the northwest of the hill is the little hamlet of Stinchcombe, the ancestral home of “the potterer,” Linfred of Stinchcombe. I believe that when JKR was creating Harry's backstory, she needed a place that was a pun about their hair, thus, she selected Stinchcombe. Next door was another place, conveniently, where she selected the surname of the Dursleys. On Petunia, she has the classic signs of a narcissist. Narcissism is rooted in pathological envy, and she did seem to envy anyone that had more, and she was jealous of her sister. Both Vernon and Petunia disliked James after finding out that he was independently wealthy when they met, which led to a huge argument. I would also say that she was jealous of Severus as well. My guess is that Vernon was the same way, though it didn't show through as much as it did with his wife. Both liked to put on airs, trying to show that they were wealthier and more connected than they were.
Keep in mind that someone would then have reported it or the police and social worked would have never knew about it. He always was hidden from visitors and I doube they had any friendships with the neighbours.
@@leto-nlI think some people would see them going to the store or like the zoo and notice the treatment Harry was getting by his family and call it in.
Knowing what we now know about Obscurials and whatnot, its frankly ASTONISHING that Harry didnt become one. I can only assume its because he didnt try to actively supress his magic. He didnt even know what he'd been doing was magic. Might make for an interesting What-If video. What if Harry became an Obscurus? You could even do a thing about him living past 18 (similar to Credence) and unleashing that power on Voldemort. Could be fun.
I guess because Harry didn’t know magic existed and therefore didn’t know he had magical capabilities then he also didn’t have the knowledge or choice to actively suppress those abilities Every Obscurus I remember hearing about knew they possessed magical powers but for whatever reason (scared of their powers, being judged for being magical etc) they chose to suppress it purposefully and that lead to the catastrophe
WHo is petunia witch wizards ancestors because muggle born are distant direct descendants from sqiub? Did dudley marry cho?and is it possible that dursley distant direct descendants from witch hunt?
I can never understand the nature of some people especially ones who can victimize children. All i know is that as a mother and a pediatrician my heart goes out to other children and i would take care of others. Some years ago my sister was going through medical issues and her daughters came into me and my family’s household. My Husband daughter and son stepped up and helped them adjust. We gave them love and was very happy to help them. My sister’s husband was deployed he like husband was in the military and he was so thankful we took care of his daughters and wife. My husband at the time completed his service in the military and was forming a security company but always had time for our children and his nieces. I can’t give cruelty to my sister or anyone for that matter. I’m a firm believer in karma!
If Mr. and Mrs Evans were more like Agustín and Julieta Madrigal then Petunia would've become a more empathetic and loving person. I've always believed that Petunia Dursley could learn some valuable life lessons from Mirabel Madrigal.

My mom's brother and his/their cousin married sisters in the late 50's, and one of those sisters, my Aunt Eileen, was Crazy just like Petunia! I went to stay with my Aunt and Uncle when I was about 20-year's old, my cousins were slightly younger than I was. She sat up at night monitoring who was home, and where they were...it was crazy! She totally made me feel uncomfortable, so much so I wanted to sleep in the Garage until I left! Years went by, and in my 40's my mom brought them by for a visit, she changed! She was no longer an uptight person, she gained weight, fought Cancer, and Retired! I actually thought she was cool, except the fact that she thought my dad was a good guy...then I knew she was Crazy! :)
always found it funny how durdley has an ark and it doesnt end with a redemption but it does end up with him being better than his parents which is not great but certanly better than he expected
I ignore EVERYTHING from that fan fic book/play as far as cannon goes. Petunia and Vernon were very young...just a couple years older than James and Lily. They would have been early 30s when the story begins...and late 40s when it ends. 19 years later....I could see Vernon passing on. He was a very large man, with poor temperament, so..a heart attack is possible....but not necessarily written in stone. Petunia, however disagreeable, should be still around 19 years later. Bitter, old, and alone...I don't see Petunia charging much for the good. Dudley, having seen what a git he is from the horrors he saw about himself, grew out of his selfish, bully ways....and away from his parents doting and entitlements, he would be OK. And, of course, his second child is destined to be Muggleborn. 😉
This is the one thing that really gets me, The Dursleys were never pu ished for there child abuse, and it was child abuse. If this had happened it would have been a satisfying conclusion
Petunia most likely died of cancer and hopefully it was a slow and exceedingly painful death. How she treated her orphaned nephew and allowed him to be treated can never be forgiven. I can guarantee that when the Dursleys went into hiding from the death eaters was the last time his aunt had uncle even saw Harry.
There is a theory the Dursleys were also so cruel to Harry because he was a Horcrux. Anyone who is around a horcrux for an extended period of time brings out the worst in them.
Vernun: Maybe a toxic autistic fella? We can go wrong it’s true. His power tools could be a special interest. So hard core on masking that he went full cray cray … total meltdown when those letters kept coming
While the Dursley's were awful to Harry, I'm glad they didn't treat him ss s son. The Dursley parents clearly don't know how to raise a well rounded child. Harry would be another horrible bully like his father was as a child. He'd be buddied up with Draco Malfoy on equal levels. Nope. This was meant to be for the benefit of him and others.
I can’t believe Harry excepted being raised by his mean Aunt and Uncle who are always grumpy, if I had the and Aunt and Uncle that I had to be raised by, that are mean, and always grumpy when I am around, I would not expect them and shoot them with a gun just to escape it, or if I ever met someone who is always grumpy, I would not expect it either and once I had enough i with throw a bunch of pies in there face
Uncle Vernon is definitely the type of bloke to move to Benidorm, have a full English every morning, refuse to learn a single word of Spanish and still vote Brexit
No she and lilly are descendants of a squib and one of they're parents carries the magic gene which Lilly got more of and Patuenia didn't squibs are the kids of one magical parent and one muggle parent you can also 23:19 be a perblood and have squib children the Black family has tons of squibs.
For me Vernon is beyond my understanding. If he liked "normal things" it's not normal to hit and humiliate Harry. If he just wanted him to disappear - just let him go to hogwarts. If you want him to stay to ensure safety from Voldemort - treat him well. If you don't want him to be a wizard - brainwash Harry into believing wizardry is a bad thing(tell him parents died purely because of magic). I mean i understand Petunia hating harry because she was jelous to her sister Lily. I understand Vernon disliking harry for looking like James. But to me Vernon looks like a consistent idiot incapable of finding any solution
THE SAME AS PETUNIA CONSIDERED LILY AS FREAK I COULD CONSIDER MYSELF OFTEN AS A FREAK BCAUSE I AM NOT AN ORDINARY PERSON FOR VARIOUS REASONS SADLY. PEOPLE USED TO SAY TO MY PARENTS I AM A WASTE OF SPACE,MONEY ,ENERGY NOT TO MENTION TIME SO THEY SHOULD HAVE GOT RID OF RIGHT AWAY.
I have to say I am disappointed I watched this to see what happens to the durley family after Voldemort I didn't watch to see what was plainly obvious from simply watching the movies
Harry was a great kid until he became an adult. The war had left a lasting scar on him, as it changed him completely. He turned into a very obnoxious angry young man who hated his own son. It is quite shocking considering what he grew up with, but war does a lot of bad things to people. s
You are completely wrong on the dynamic of this family, especially the dad. You think these people are striving to be normal just because they are wired or whatever. Your not taking into account that Harry is in wizard witness protection, blending in is 101 for this position and knowing your kid will become a wizard at one point would make that task all the harder. So what do you do ? You groom this little boy to be weird anyway in the community by making him sleep under the stairs and all that.

Not to mention the fact that throughout the entire series Malfoy is consistently shown to be a coward and act with self preservation as his main motivation…so again for this reason it would make no sense for his character to suddenly do the opposite
I think petunia became horrible because we all know petunia wanted to go to Hogwarts and because she was not aloud to petunia took it out on Lilly and on there parents and on Harry she started to call Harry a freak and consider him not normal I think after that she realized well I lost my sister Harry and you lost ur mother after the wizard war the dursleys seem to not be as bad even Dudley
No. Never met. All her opinions are based on what she's told.
Thnx. That just makes her even more loathsome@@SweetGoddess420
Great question 🤗
@MindyP421 how do you know
@@joshsims9642 well one can assume from her presumtions and stature, the way she spoke about them haveing no idea what they had for occupations etc in the third book right before she balloon'd up that they had never met.
Lily's father (in a joking manner) warns them off: "Boys I appreciate your sweet gesture but don't forget, that's my wife your talking to."
Both of Lily's parents (especially her father) really loved James as if he were their son. *Mr and Mrs Evans preferred James a lot more than they did Vernon and they got along a lot well with James than they ever did with Vernon, something which exacerbated Petunia's resentment and jealousy of her sister Lily even more.* Petunia was sick of her parents talking non-stop about Lily's boyfriend and what really broke the line for Petunia was when she overheard her mother saying this to their father: "To be honest, he (James) is a far better bloke than Petunia's boyfriend."
What are your thoughts on all of this?
Great fanfic stuff. I mean that as someone who writes fanfiction, not as an insult.
I've always appreciated the stealth pun that Vernon works for a company that makes drills, therefore his work is "boring".
Something I remember reading somewhere:
JK did concider Dudley having a magical child, and him being at Platform 9 3/4 in the epilogue. She decided against it in the end, because Vernon's DNA would've made it impossible for the magic to come out.
@@AnimalDreams86That doesn't wprk with the concept of muggleborn wizards IMO.
That would be hillariouse
It would have been so funny if Dudley had been born a wizard.
it was a possibility, his aunt was a witch so the gene was there, more likely his own children might be though
That’s ok, because Vernon would never have paid for some crackpot old fool to teach him magic tricks.
I’m sure Dudley might have a witch or wizard as a kid 😊
I think the Evanses must’ve been terrible parents
@@charlielynch3916 Snape DID torture the students….just not physically. And mental torture can be even worse than physical pain.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but either the books or the movie photographs also allude that Vernon was a boxer in his day.
@@curiotimetv I don't remember that, but it's possible.
I don't think so! You're on to something there
off course he wasnt her true love, isnt that obvious??😅
Snape
Holy crap that actually makes sense
I can see this Ina alternative timeline
This one was fun to watch and listen to. I have been out of the loop recently due to health issues but this one was a good one to come back to. Thanks and keep them coming. I enjoyed the longer video format.
The only thing I’m TRULY curious about is the contents of the letter Dumbledore left with Harry the night after Harry’s parents were killed.
Harry being there just gave them a target
Plus JKR actively discredited this theory anyway 🤷♀️
Here are some video ideas:
1 what is the difference between the titles of madam and professor e.g. madam pomfrey vs professor mcgonagoll
2 what is the biography of mrs Norris
3 does the education of students in maths, English and science cease as soon as they enter hogwarts
4 do any of the professors or staff have husbands or wives or relationships e.g. filch and madam pince.
Thank you so much 😊
I believe the title of Professor is reserved for the witches at Hogwarts who teach (like Professor Trelawney and Professor McGonnagall) where Madam is for the ones who do not teach (Like Madam Pomfrey).
Thank you. How about Madam Hooch who teaches flying and quidditch?@@stevegallo8483
Something came to mind, I would like to believe that Dudley never apologized to Harry for the bulling before Harry saved him... That's why they always say in silence during visits
I do wonder that because Harry was a Horcrux, if that affected the feelings of the Durseley's....
Interesting thought!
I'm pretty sure I read that somewhere...
I wondered that too, but they weren't nice to Harry when he returned home from school after being gone all year.
Am I crazy? I hope so.
In the books, Dudley couldn't see the Dementors
I think Rowling confirmed that Dudley's children were not magical, but I think it's every fans head canon that actually were
Just imagine that the dursleys moved to the same beach that fleur and bill lived at that would be funny
It would have been a fun twist if one of Dudley's kids turned out to be magical.
Thinking about it, how did Petunia mail that letter to Hogwarts?? Not like the post office goes out that far
That was talked about in the book…there are wizards working at the post offices
I love backstories, so when I wrote This Peculiar Magic, I delved into what life was like for the main character before heading to the academy to study and live with others like himself. We get to understand the feeling of being the only person, it seemed, with his "affliction."
They were horrible, very hard to like. Petunia was jealous of Lily and she never did anything to overcome it. Vernon was just a real jerk. Dudley was a complete sod. They played their part in the books for us fans to hate. Great video.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Hey bash his parents but Dudley did become a better person by the end
@@Direwolf181 true.
Dudley definitely did NOT go to college. He probably ended up working at his dads old company by way of connections.
I always hoped Dudley would have a little witch or wizard to go to Hogwarts with Harry's. That way we'd get maybe a redemption arc fr Dudley
I wonder if things would've changed if petunia was allowed to visit the wizarding world like how Hermione's parents were allowed to visit diagon alley in the chamber of secrets so petunia can at least experience the great things the wizarding world has to offer I think that would've been a great coping mechanism for her
Harry was not relocated to 12 Grimmauld Place - after Dursley's departure he was relocated to the Burrow (via the Tonkses)
Awesome as always thanks
I was saying in my mind "Mayorca, the Dursleys probably moved to Mayorca" 🤣 so I agree
Honestly powertools are quite interesting
I have a bunch of tools, including sets of drill bits from fractional, metric, numbers and letter drill bits.
I do wish the batteries would not die on me so fast. I had two of them and on both the batteries died after doing only a handfull of jobs. And offcouse sadly no warranty since I hardly have to drill things and warranty is based on time and not on how much you use them. I can only assume mine came from Vernons firm lol
@@leto-nl Sounds like they came from China. I don't have that issue as my battery operated drill and saw are made in Taiwan. Most are made in America and plug into the wall.
@@MountainFisher Yeah I go back to those again to. It never really bothered me to have them on wire.
He probably wouldn't have turned out bad either, so Dumbledore had no right to assume that Harry would grow up to be like his family
Truthfully, in real life they would’ve been jailed and Harry would’ve already been in foster care.
I guess because Harry didn’t know magic existed and therefore didn’t know he had magical capabilities then he also didn’t have the knowledge or choice to actively suppress those abilities
Every Obscurus I remember hearing about knew they possessed magical powers but for whatever reason (scared of their powers, being judged for being magical etc) they chose to suppress it purposefully and that lead to the catastrophe
@harrypottertheroy how about a short video on how awkward it was in girls dorm when Ron was with lavender and hermoine
Not a creepy request at all. 😂
WHo is petunia witch wizards ancestors because muggle born are distant direct descendants from sqiub? Did dudley marry cho?and is it possible that dursley distant direct descendants from witch hunt?
Why do so many people think that Dudley married Cho?? All that was said by JKR is Cho married a muggle…where did people get Dudley from? 😅
Richard Griffiths was always entertaining, check out “Withnail and I” if you haven’t.

always found it funny how durdley has an ark and it doesnt end with a redemption but it does end up with him being better than his parents which is not great but certanly better than he expected
dudley didnt acknowledge anything in the book.., neither did petunia. if its not in the books, its not cannon.
😉
James and Lily were both born in 1960, making them 21 at the time of their death, yet the photos that Harry has, and in flashbacks they are much older
This is the one thing that really gets me, The Dursleys were never pu ished for there child abuse, and it was child abuse. If this had happened it would have been a satisfying conclusion
Could Dumbledore have also saw this as a chance of Petunia redeeming herself?
The description of Petunia's attitude towards Lily in this... sounds a lot like Rowling's attitude towards transgender persons.
Then why weren’t Ron and Hermione affected by Harry?
Shame the actor who played Uncle Vern passed away. I think he would have played a Great Nero Wolfe.
In 2015, Vernon signed the BBC petition to get Jeremy Clarkson his job back.
Good man😅
There is a possibility you missed. Dudley could have possible had a magical child.

Yes, the directors butchered the books , leaving out important events just to make short movies 2hr. 20 minutes
I mean its a bit silly to call a "director" or a company an "average" job 😮
I can’t believe Harry excepted being raised by his mean Aunt and Uncle who are always grumpy, if I had the and Aunt and Uncle that I had to be raised by, that are mean, and always grumpy when I am around, I would not expect them and shoot them with a gun just to escape it, or if I ever met someone who is always grumpy, I would not expect it either and once I had enough i with throw a bunch of pies in there face
What ever happened to lily and petunias parents

Uncle Vernon is definitely the type of bloke to move to Benidorm, have a full English every morning, refuse to learn a single word of Spanish and still vote Brexit
Wasn't panunia a squib?
No way Dudley go into college.
Here is a drinking game: Take a shot every time he says boring, ordinary or normal looking

Are you really advocating for neglect snd abuse? harry would not have ended up compassionate and emphatic whiteout being neglected and abused?
I don't think you're a waist of space either, lol haha
You are completely wrong on the dynamic of this family, especially the dad. You think these people are striving to be normal just because they are wired or whatever. Your not taking into account that Harry is in wizard witness protection, blending in is 101 for this position and knowing your kid will become a wizard at one point would make that task all the harder. So what do you do ? You groom this little boy to be weird anyway in the community by making him sleep under the stairs and all that.

Vernon: Wants to be “normal”
Also Vernon: Sends son to a literal private school
