Australian politician is playing around with Aussie tax payers. I own properties in Hong Kong for several decades and never thought any property market in the world can be as crazy as in Australia and manipulated by politicians !
@jack12343 not bashing anyone except pointing out that this is a conflict of interest and anyone with any basic understanding in ethics will appreciate that this is not approprriate for someone in that position.
We need to look at the flow of money and the imbalances. Follow the money? Who’s making record profits, who’s going broke? Corporates are using the term ‘ inflation’ as an excuse to price gouge and then report record profits! That’s where the focus needs to be.
Oh I totally agree with you, and there needs to be an investigation into all these interest rises, cost of living etc. I really feel that there is so much corruption going on up high at the expense of the Australian people. I think that there needs to be forensic accountants and auditors sent in to the RBA and Canberra, and everything made transparent to us. Something very bent and screwy is going on at the top of the hierarchies.
Saw some rich guy on tv once talking about the differences between rich and poor when things got bad...what happens is in tough times the poor are desperate and need to sell to stay afloat...businesses/property etc. for the rich though they actually see this like a black friday sale and it becomes their "shopping" time. So good times for all, the rich stay afloat slowly making profit...then bad times hit they buy up all the stuff that will make them richer when things get good again.
Absolutely, I lost my job for not getting jabbed. I know some of my local politicians didn’t get jabbed they kept working. So sick of big government even more sick that they don’t have to abide by their own rules.
Comm Bank and RBA Have Great Housing Deals for Staff. Interest at like 2%. My friend in Sydney paid off their house in 10 yrs. This was a Few yrs ago now.
Essential workers had no benefits during the pandemic. In most cases they worked harder, had mandatory jabs and have burnout. Now unable to pay for their homes. The RBA is clueless. A lot of people had no handouts and now needing foodbanks.
What’s next council employees get half price rates, ato employees get half price tax rates. Prime minister get a pension for life despite how good or bad they are.
These beaurocrats are in another world and living the Australian dream at the expense of the hard working taxpayers ,,,,i wonder if the new Governor General gets a special deal on her portfolios,,,,,this stinks of entitlement,,,,,
When you work for a normal bank you also get lower rates. Not that low but every bit helps. Also, if you pay more off your mortgage asap you can easily negotiate a lower rate. I was on the same rate the bank employees got. Now if the people suffering from the interest rate hikes pulled their head in while rates were low and paid off as much as they could then well they would not be in the hole they are now. I bet they just paid off minimum amount. They can also drop back to interest only and still pay extra that they can afford. Also you get a monthly figure to pay and divide it by 4 then pay weekly that way you pay an extra month off each year. But a lot of these fools bought a house then went out with a credit card and bought new furniture and cars. They dug their own hole. If you have a home loan and have a car worth more than $10,000 you are a complete idiot. You pay off your biggest debt first before splurging on a $30,000 car. I have seen idiots with $90.000 cars and $30,000 boats and they were still renting living their high life showing off. Then they complain they will never have a house. One prick i worked with has had 8 cars 2 of them brand new over 10 years and i have had 5 cars over 40 years and none of them brand new.
Couldn't agree more as I know a couple that have rented the same house for about 28yrs had plenty of opportunities to buy one but once they would save enough for a good deposit would go and buy a jetski or a new boat or that new motorbike or car , when money started to get tight about 10 years ago didn't stop them as then they started covering themselves in tattoo's " Art Apparently " . They now find themselves in the position of struggling week to week paying rent and sky high power bills which as I tried to explain was probably high because of the huge tropical salt water fish tank that they obviously had to have . I have come to the realisation that no matter how hard you try you can't fix stupid .
The Reserve Bank is there to keep inflation under control with interest rate increases, it's the Government's responsibility to keep inflation down so that the Reserve Bank doesn't need to increase interest rates.
I think if you've been loyal and working for the same company for 30 odd years, a few perk's/discounts are fair enough and more than likely, deserved..
You said it right - who wouldn't want a half price mortgage deal. So are you saying that if you were offered a half fare mortgage deal you'd say no ??? Is that right ?? If YOU were Michelle, you'd say NO ??? No thanks - others are doing it tough, I want to do it tough too ?? Get real. Bank employees used to get discount mortgages just because they worked for that particular bank - this was very common. Would you say, no thanks boss, my neighbor has to pay the full rate and so will I ????? You might want to let that sink in before shooting off again.
What gets me about interest rates is the idea being that the economy is a cycle and if inflation goes up it's generally a $ outflow problem...the money's potential still exists but it's going somewhere else so increasing interest rates works by convincing people to invest and keep inflation in check. Problem is the years of lockdowns etc. have burned up resources...not in a way that puts the money/potential back in to circulation, but in a way that just goes 'poof' and it's gone. AAND being a WORLDWIDE pandemic everyones in a similar situation, so the banks are trying to get blood from a stone at this point, it's not that the money/value went elsewhere...it's just no longer there full stop.
This kinda sounds like a huge problem worthy of investigation. With RBA employees not having to worry about interest rates personally, how can they possibly be focussed on what is best for the island nation of Australia? 😢😢😢. Oh deary me, the poor old battlers never get help, whilst the rich get so much help you could not wipe the smiles off their smug faces if you tried.
Oh that's right, she told us that inflation is being caused by people spending to much money on haircuts....Does this mean she is getting half price haircuts too?

Why are the RBA allowed to offer loans to employees?
RBA chief is an empowered woman. You go lady! I got to laugh at all this. How can any worker in Australia compare to this?

Why do they get half price??? How does that even work? Does the government subsidy their home payment?
That RBA mortgage deal for employees has been around for at least 60 years that I know of.
