You may not believe what I am about to tell you.
I recently heard about Manila's South Cemetery, where a community of ~100 families are living literally in between tombs of dead bodies.
Today, we ventured out there with only our iPhones and an Osmo pocket, and here is what I witnessed.
What are your thoughts on this? Do you think these people should be allowed to settle in this cemetery?
If you're on Instagram, that's where I upload my best behind-the-scenes stories @drewbinsky

It is actually a saying in the philippines. They are very superstitious. They say that to lessen the fear of ghost. Been there multiple times
@@helmuthvonmoltke858 Yes, HAHAHAHA my Mother always say that to me to lessen my fear to ghost.
Ever seen the movie Night of the Living Dead?

@@ander4842 boy i think you havent seen filipino dota 2 players xD (Im filipino if yout think im racist im saying the truth)
I specifically remember being in church when I was 8 (I'm 24 now) and the priest was saying how he was in that graveyard a week before this and he said that he couldn't walk through the whole place because he felt so bad for these people and he didn't want them to see him crying.
Ik no-one cares but I thought I'd let the world know☺
Fun fact: The Manila’s South Cemetery is actually an enclave of City of Manila (a separate city inside Metro Manila) which means that we have a mini-Manila outside of the City of Manila
So this cemetery is under the jurisdiction of Manila instead of the more developed Makati. Now I see why there is a square border inside Makati in maps
Drew mentioned that this is the biggest in the metro. But isn't Manila North Cemetery the biggest one? Just curious 🙂
Where I’m born in the Philippines 🇵🇭 I worked at the age 10
I'm 10 and a Filipino and right now I'm in a bed watching this.
@@johnlorenpelayo So what kiddo?
No matter the conditions they live, there still happy, and appreciate life, it's one of the things I love about the Philippines, the people
I was expecting them to live happily, but then 0:43: "We have happy, because we have money"
They are happy because they have money to buy food
He meant by we are happy to have money to buy food
Drew: *talks about and films mounds of trash*
Also drew: “It’s actually somewhat clean”
The bigger one is in the real Manila which is Manila North Cemetery. You can find more than 150 families living there. You can also find bones in open graves.
Love watching your vids lately and I was surprised that you were here at Philippines, good luck on your journey!
Seems interesting people would live in that kind of environment. I hope they find a better place to live!🙏
TheSoloLife They love living there so they can stay if they want.
@@nickboi7270 omfg its you nick bo8 remeber me ? Lets play pubg sometimes just msg what time or fortnite

While visiting my great grandmother there, I found out later that some boys were staring at me.
I shared my candies with them!
Never felt so warmed to share something ever!
You are the best! Awesome! Good luck!❤️🇷🇴
That public cemetery will soon be developed into a nature/memorial park. ( i wish)
Great video 👏👏👏 So lovely people 🙏🙏
Didn't he make a video about this before?
Edit: ohh, it was Nas daily
And in many horror stories, ghosts come from cemeteries.

The word Salamat that they say for Thank you in Tagalog for thank you is actually an Arabic word and in Arabic it actually means greetings, but when they heard that word they got confused as they did not know it means greetings and they use it for thank you.
Loved the 🎶music❤️❤️
I used to live in Manila North Cemetery with my relatives.
I love being there it's more peaceful than outside lol
NOTIFICATION SQUAD WYA AND FIRST!
I liked this video! Ótimo apresentação
Sad reality of the side of urban life in the Philippines. at least Drew has the courage to share it the sad image of developing countries. Anyways good luck trip to Pakistan ahead to friend Drew....
I live in the phillipines it is so fun in the pilipinas can i please get like go pilipinas stay strong
*Cough cough* bad grammar *cough cough*
They must be getting hella nightmares.
Imagine walking outside to take a piss in the Middle of the night.
I would shit my pants.
I strongly recommend the government of Manela to creaup the grave yards and give same place for those people to live comfortably. This world is for people who are living not for the dead once. We should just burn the body when dead. Or give it to the medical use. Building tombs is waste of land while the population is growing..
*Brave guys !!*
#Drew
You should watch Martyna Wojciechowska series, she’s a very famous polish🇵🇱 traveler 🧳and been there serval times too, even made best friends with one of the families, the children recognized straight away her after she returned after years, even remembered her name !! 🇵🇱
Nice! Never thought of living with the ancestors
How much years are remaining for you to complete your travel
Am watching you from Ghana 🇬🇭
I like your videos drew
"but mostly...sad"
Same, bro, Same:(
I would like to see Drew make a video abot the Balkans
My husband a german every time we quarreled he said to me so simple that I live in a cementary then I replied Do you have evidences that I and my family live in a cementery and I am from Mindanao where no one dares living in a cementery. That is in Manila and these people came from Visayas mostly on the brink of Pacific ocean where they were always visited by typhon so they have no other choice but to migrate to Manila to enhance their living conditions. I have a friend before who was married to a man from Leyte and her man prefers to return back to his native town in Leyte together with my friend and her children but she found it is very diffucult to earn a living there the payment of wages to workers are very low than compared to Mindanao so she must return to Mindanao but she had no money to return back to Mindanao so she needed help from her close relatives so they send her money for their tranportation fees back to Mindanao.
I've never felt so bad by watching just a video.
Even in my city Bacolod City Negros Occidental Philippines the Burgos public cemetery Bacolod's public cemetery have people living
Wow,im early.😍
I went to Manila it was cool but I never seen this place when I went to the Philippines also 1 like your Filipino because I am🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭
So poor, yet not in any way trying to rip off the tourist... This is incredible!
this kinda reminds of the city of the dead in Cairo
I don't know... I couldn't live on a semetary... That's what my mom always said when I was little. Dead people can't hurt you.
Nice video
Visit Tacloban City and show how the city is recovering.
Hi mister drew can i know wher in the philippines or what part of manila do you live? Because im a citizen of makati almost near the cemetery
I believe there's also a cemitary in Cairo where people live
Oh hes on the Philippines right now :D 🇵🇭
that’s true. Makati has one of the most poorest population here in the Philippines (as a Native Filipino). That cemetery has actually two parts. One Public and Private. The south cemetery is where Public People go and The North is where the Government goes where president’s bodies are found
when I die..i'd rather be cremated or be send off somewhere other than in manila's cemeteries lol
in my country there have been a bunch of people partying drugs in the cemetery and they all end up dying 😂😂😂
OMGG YOU VISITED OUR COUNTRY!!!
Any place for them in future Clark city?
Can't believe it!
I was in makati last week didnt know about the grave thing
Filipinos are intelligent. They speak fluent english. They find ways to solve their problems but most importantly. They never forget to smile
For a cemetery, Its sure full of life

Literally great work 🔥
When are you coming to syria drew? I’m Syrian living in Dubai 🇸🇾🇸🇾🇸🇾🇸🇾🇸🇾🇸🇾🇸🇾🇸🇾🇸🇾🇸🇾🇸🇾🇸🇾
Syria is cool 😎
I think it’s pretty obvious why he hasn’t been there yet
because going to syria is just hopping on a plane and exploring. He even explained last video that syria is one of if not the hardest visa to get
@@captainalex1856
Well I believe US interference in Syrian war for (cough) "humanitarian rights" played a big factor in that
Hamza Baig
Yeah if the Us interference with Syria didn’t happen it would be a lot easier to get visas
*What is tarnation* ?

I was living near that place before
Aww hell naw, I could never
With all their conditions against them they are happier than most Americans that complain every single day about things that these people can’t even imagine complaining about! I don’t want to tell you how to live your life but please be thankful you have school, work, and a home. I wish to make enough money to donate and start cleaning up the Philippines with a large amount of people. Thanks for reading.
Kuya Armyr that's right, think of the present condition in Venezuela which is more tragic than the Philippines and the rest of the world. Gratitude among the best virtue to value...
Charles Diputado doesn’t matter who’s more “tragic” just be thankful for what you have.
Not a problem 😢
Manila North Cemetery is the largest, not South.
In Egypt people do this too come to Egypt
Hey drew can you make a video about jollibee
Graves only last 5 years there. Being removed afterwards.
It`s not 5 years more to 10 years.
We're ALL living in a graveyard...
Mahkatea sorry I’m Filipino :p love ur vids

1:06 Nice 🙏🏾♾⛈
That's true that dead people aren't dangerous, it's the ones that are alive that you gotta be careful with.🤣
omG the people there are so hilarious lmao i love them
I saw kopiko carton
Im proud to be a filipino!
Just like lolo.
Imagine trying to go visit your mom or dads grave and you see someone taking a nap on their tomb
