Just a heads up , the camera was still rolling at 4:30 A considerably better lock than it's older brother. Some very noticeable alterations, which I think has improved the security of the lock. Thanks for sharing😘😘😘👍👍🍺
Looks like just beefed up the outsides but maybe not the cylinder. Still a good improvement as most attacks are physical.👍🏻 I thought we were going to get a face reveal at the end or something. Lol
Now wasn't that interesting. Two locks stamped the same but one with a much better improvement. Loved the keep us all hanging at the end there. For a few seconds I thought you might do a reveal like at the cinema. You know when the credits scroll down the screen, you sir there watching then suddenly... an extra scene. Great picking as usual. Big thanks for sharing
Squire do actually still sell a version closer to the original No.39 stronglock with a hardened steel shackle and laminated body... the one featured here appears to be from the Squire Vulcan range which is an upgraded version of the stronglock with a die cast outer body which is meant to be tougher.
Very cool Squire my friend, looks very secure against physical attacks, and give you a cool fight, it´s a shame that don´t have a six pin core. Great vid, thanks for showing ;o))
The padlock you focused on is from Squire's Vulcan series (Vulcan P4 45CS), not Stronglock; I know the underside says No.39 but it looks like they re-use materials as there is no 39mm Vulcan but it is indeed a Vulcan nonetheless. The die cast satin chrome cover must add 6mm of thickness to the 39mm laminated body to make the 45mm I guess. The non-CS padlock is Stronglock. Judging from the key being the exact same dimensions as Stronglock's, I would hazard a guess that the pins used are the same crappy tiny pins they always used and are not security pins of any kind (their product range descriptions reflect this by not really mentioning any security pin features). Wouldn't mind betting it would snake rake open with ease like they always do. Would love to be proven wrong though ;)
@@LockNoob the Squire Vulcan P4 50 is marked Squire on the front "Stronglock steel construction" on the back and uses the No. 39 body. It's about 54mm wide, Boron shackle, etc.
The odd thing is that the design for the double locking shackle with roller/ball bearing system is from 1982 and is actually stamped on the top of the older version of the lock - despite it not being used in that lock. I've just done a breakdown video of it...might need to try and get one of the newer ones to cut up and breakdown. ua-cam.com/video/xgaC8d-u6yQ/v-deo.html
Stronger? With the shackle guard and ball bearing mechanism I’d say it holds up much better to bypass and shimming attacks. The lock body would hold out to an attack much the same though
I would say I strongly disagree, however mine just may be defective - I actually have more of a hard time getting this thing to close properly than anything else. When it can finally keep its legs closed long enough to be considered 'secure', mine just rakes open in less than about 10 seconds? SPP actually takes a lot more time it seems to me and even then its open in about 20 seconds.
Very cool lock and very nicely picked, it even looks Better then the other one, you have relly made a lot of videos lately, you usually don't relly make this many at such Short time do you? IT might just be me
Experience with different brands but when in doubt I use a shallow hook first then move to a medium hook or gem if it doesn’t pick it. If that doesn’t work, I have deeper and thinner and finer hooks to draw on :-)
Do you know how secure your padlock is? Do you want to know or stay in the dark, trusting the people marketing their locks to you? Since there are far, far, far easier and quicker low skill ways to ‘get past’ a locking mechanism, people don’t really pick locks for crime.
So, the Squire No.39 has put a fancy armoured vest on? Let’s investigate... :-)
Lets!
Good work, I've recently been practicing on a Squire LN4. A five-pin little sod.
Good choice (obviously !) that .018 gem . keyway willing i love using my .025 rub.han. , good vid. mate :)
Interesting!!
👍👍👍
So much for that! :)
Tense bit at the end ; thought you were going to do a jump-scare maybe.
Roger Goulder lol, sorry!
That would have been hilarious for sure
Drones are kinda like locks! They get better and better!
I guess, lol :-)

Pick Beard oh yeah... a rare and interesting insight to me tidying up after a video. You’re welcome 😉
That was a fight for a four pinner. Maybe tapered pins?
Possibly stepped standard pins. Sometimes see those in Squire locks
Gotta love the Peterson gem. Interesting padlock too, I'll have to find me one
I love the gem 💎
Awesome job Ash my friend the end freaked me out😂😂😂👍😊👍
Lol, sorry Leon:-)

@@LockNoob At least it was different and you didn't start singing to yourself 🤣
Very pretty new looking lock! Nicely picked. Want to know what is inside.. well... non-destructive.
I think stepped standard pins like you see in the SAL40 :-)
I could have sworn you said: "a night of heavy picking".
Picking and drinking probably 😉
Nice picking! The ending.....
Sorry, I clearly wasn’t paying attention in the edit!

Yes I agree
Like the lock, to bad it does not come apart so we can see the pins! Good vid. 👍👍👍👍🧡
And it would take quite a bit of grinding to crack that one too! :-)
I found the last 30 seconds very informative 😆
My best work, lol :-)

6 pins and spools and you’d have a pretty decent lock :-)
i like that squire as well, its for the working man and is very tuff but if only the core was better.
Yes, it’s the only really bad feature :-)
Thanks ash great tutorial as usual that does look like heavy duty lock
I like it :-)

I’m only going on the fact it says on the lock ‘stronglock’

great stuff buddy love the lock.
Thanks, me too :-)
Nice one.
Thanks :-)
Nice outro :D
Great picking Sir. as always
Yeah, sorry lol 😂
Thanks for the vid, keep em coming. I like that Peterson & Mad Bobs wrench. Gotta get one.
I’ve just ordered another set :-)
@@LockNoob , Of each?
Great video my friend. 😎
Thanks :-)
Well for someone who's trained in lock picking only being able to do it in 2 minutes in a vice I'd say that's well worth getting
Weelllll, it’s not terrible but I’m pretty sure I could pick most of these in hand in a couple of minutes too,
What difference!
:-)
I think it really good to see a company improving an existing product, & this one definitely sounds a lot better, 😎👍
I think it’s more of an optional upgrade - I believe you can still buy both locks :-)

lockmania some vids of your locks should be out in a few weeks :-)
Looking for a budget padlock
This or the Stanley 24/7 shrouded 50mm ?
I like the Stanley locks - usually nice and easy
@@LockNoob cheers,
are they both the same profile ?
Nice pick as always, how do you decide which pick to use on a certain lock?
I think it comes with experience. Different keyways dictate which pick. Sometimes it a case of "That didn't work so let's try this pick instead".

I very much doubt it. It would shrug off an attack like that :-)
great so lets show thiefs how to do it and steal. why on earth are you doing this?
