The number of people mad I made this video is hilarious. Don't worry, if VRchat was gonna take down these worlds, this tiny video isn't gonna be the reason.
There's a reason VRChat has to have the untrusted urls setting: to protect themselves from any issues from copyright holders. Your favorite worlds aren't going anywhere, even though they're technically illegal.
Spoiler, you've been able to watch movies and shows illegally online forever. This is just a cool new way to do it.
Well you see no matter what, if the feds wanna shut it down they will as soon as it becomes big enough or draws enough attention, has nothing to do with vr chat being liable or not. Itll get taken down because theyll demand it one way or another, probably "stop the pirating or shut vrchat down"...... And i say this because its happened without vr a ton.... Putlocker, pirate bay many times, napster, and so on. If you cant understand or comprehend why someone would be mad about this and not want attention brought to it, then idk what to say
@@thestonedzone284 sure they can try to shut it down. But that's not as easy as it sounds. Even if they took down these two popular worlds, other worlds would pop up using different links, achieving the same goal. Maybe eventually VRChat will be forced to never allow "untrusted urls" but that's inevitable. It's not gonna happen tomorrow because of this video. Quit gatekeeping, it's gross

Well watching movies like that is technically fine, the person providing the movies aka, the one who put them on the illegal website will get in trouble, but you can't get in trouble for watching that stuff. At least by U.S. law, idk about any other country

VR chat could just ad a "download for quest" button next to the PC download button on their website. The headsets run on android and the quest browser supports user level control scripts.

That first World is actually my home world I have set love chilling out watching movies and anime after editing vids, good stuff keep it up man!

I think you should edit out any audio mentioning the world names your went to.
I've been using these two worlds a lot lately watching anime with my partner. They're not flawless, though. There are often sync issues, especially with Movie & Chill where only the host can see the video but not anyone else and you have to rejoin or make a new instance to fix it. I only wish the posters of people in ERP avatars weren't there, it gives me an uncomfortable vibe.

@@saikislams They are both Quest-compatible worlds so no, you don't need a PC to go to them. I like to leave my PC off and go to these worlds in Quest mode actually, because that's one less thing in my room producing heat and noise, and the experience is basically the same.

first thing I did when booting up vr chat and after finding an avi was pop in to LS Media and watched some movies. Just the concept caught me off guard so much that I proceeded to spend 15 of my current 57 hours in VR chat just in the cinema worlds watching shows and movies.
I admit, I'd love to watch the northman in VR with my friends. thanks for showing us these worlds.
I've used Movies and Chill to watch movies more than I use my Disney+ account at this point lol. I did not know about the other world, it seems more minimalistic and nicer looking than Movies and Chill. Is it Quest Standalone supported?

Still looking for shared 360 and 180 3D video players. One that has synced local playback at 4K+ 3D 360 videos aren't going to stream over most wifi connections.
Niiice. I haven't tried this yet and only done Bigscreen VR so far. And to be honest some movies with quality downloads looks almost better in VR than at my local cinema, even with a Quest 2. At least certain aspects of it

Hey despite having untrusted URLs allowed, I always get a message in LS media where the video fails to load. I have 1400+ hours in VRC and still can't figure out how to get this world to work. Does anyone know potential fixes?
Have you tried the other world to see if you have the same issue?
I believe the update may have broken it? The karaoke world I use said that the update broke their coding for the world, so it will be broken until they find a fix

I am a quest user and anytime I try to boot up Ls media or any video player, I always wind up crashing and I’m wondering if there are any fixes. I’ve tried deleting vrchat and other apps on my oculus quest and reinstalled them, I’ve started world in my own instance and I don’t know what to do. Does anyone know how to fix this?
If u still haven't been able to fix check if your headset in display settings is on 120 hz it's a bit nauseating to change back to the 90 hz but it maybe your best course of action in getting to run also may get more fps in games if you lag alot normally

If it were you, and you had a PS5, would you bother getting a Quest 2 (with no PC) or just hold out for whatever their next standalone model is and get the VR2?

I think that a standalone quest has many benefits, due to oculus/meta buying out lots of the best vr developers there is a great collection of games that are standalone and not available on psvr, titles such as contractors which has become one of the platforms best shooters, walkabout mini golf which sounds worse than it is, and so many more, quest is really worth the price point too
@@MrJagermeister PSVR2 is coming out first quarter 2023. Now as far as whether to get that or Quest... Personally I don't like any ecosystem stores. I own a Quest 2 but I have a computer and almost exclusively use Steam for my VR games because Steam games will work regardless of headset I buy. Ecosystem stores are beholden to their one ecosystem. That being said, Quest by far has the best ecosystem library so I definitely think it's the better buy if you have to go the PC-less route.

Why would it be illegal? UA-cam and other streaming sites allow you to embed videos in other websites as part of their sharing functionality. If it's a subscription service, the sites may allow you to watch a show with guests over. It might be a problem if it's a commercial enterprise, like a bar that draws in customers with public TVs explicitly set up to watch in public. VRC is more like a hotel where you rent a room and can then watch whatever movies you want on their TV or projector as long as you bring them in yourself.
