I honestly do not care if Hudson stays. He was given everything, showed up injured, didn’t learn the playbook, got injured again. Got NIL, got the Patrick NIL deal, we supported him publicly and in the stadium. And then he says he’s leaving? Then leave. Fully agreed with Chris. If this was an OL/DO I would be upset. But we just had the best receiving group in 6 years while Hudson had 8 catches and 120 yards with 0 TDs. Would it be nice to have him? Yeah… are we doomed without him? Absolutely not.
Same, I don't put much stock in a players star rating, Crabtree was only a 4 star recruit, Mahomes a 3 star. And we added several WRs in this recruiting class, we should be fine in that area.
@aerosmithfanatik especially because 5 star only means you're ready to play out of high school. 3 and 4 star players eventually catch up. Most do anyways.
Taj not making the All Conference team shows how dumb these are. Throw in the rankings with it. It's all too subjective. It's disgraceful Taj didn't get it.
What a difference a year makes imo. Last year at this time we were still licking our wounds after the Texas blowout. Now a chance to fix the defense with a well-regarded DC and get a ninth win fingers crossed. Not there yet but definitely looking up I must say.
Regarding pace/tempo, typically sitting on the ball is good when you’re not that talented. (More possessions is like flipping a coin more times- it makes the expected score more likely.) Looks like we’re going to be on the higher end of talent in the conference the next couple seasons. Not a place we’ve ever been before, but when you’re there, I think it’s good to run 90 plays and force opponents to punch up for 16 possessions instead of 10
I wonder how much the fans craziness of him not playing got into his own head. When they constantly see that every day, you start to believe it yourself. Fans need to stfu and just support the team.
I am concerned about the offense though Chris, the new OC needs to figure out what the team looks like without Tahj Brooks. We saw what that can look like at WSU. OL help from the portal would help but we’ve done that two years in a row without much success. Even Colorado spent a ton of money on O Line last year and Shedeur was still getting destroyed. He just happens to be one of the physically toughest QBs in the country. Our greatest strength as offense was the balanced rushing and passing attacks. So to summarize, the new OC needs to replace our greatest rb of all time, our leading receiver, and needs to revamp the O Line so that we don’t lose our strength as a team. It’ll be awesome if our defense goes from 120 to top 40 but will the win loss record improve if the offense also drops from top 10 to top 40? Edit: I made this comment before I listened to Chris answer this exact question lol. I just will always worry about this team.
What the hell? Taj Brooks is not first team All Big 12. Shame on the coaches. There was no big 12 team that held him under 100 yards in any game this season. He was better than both of the first team honorees. I don't understand why he got snubbed both nationally and in the big 12. We've even had a better season so there can't be an argument that Tech was terrible and he was good. I would hope next year the entire team will play with the chip on their shoulder for Taj and our program. I believe that the other big 12 coaches do that to Tech because they understand that we are gaining ground in the recruiting wars, as a potential championship team and they want to keep us down as long as they can. No more. Wreck'Em

this guy gets it

Well said.
Tech avg ppg without Tahj: 16
Tech avg ppg with Tahj: 40.6
Wish we could have gotten one more year out of Conyers.
The fact that Wells didn’t follow up and get him as a freshman is painful. Life long red raider and don’t get that inked!?!

I agree
Maybe if he played a 6th yr, you’d learn how to spell his name.
Thanks for answering the question I had. Insightful answer from Chris that I didn’t realize. Thx
11:17 yep!! But funny as hell 🙂
I agree with CL. The worst hit we will take from a Hudson departure is the PR hit. We have excellent WRs now and coming in from HS.
I wish we would do a throwback to matadors, red raiders is awesome, but I’d love a throw back every once in a while.
Ahhh Casey, the king of turning a phrase. Please keep and utilize the tight ends. Elite ones create the best mismatches you can get on the field.

The answer to most of these questions is "A definite Maybe"
Ty Haywood a possible late add!?!?😂🤪
5* OL who didn't sign with Bama???
That would be nuts 🥜
great bowl info
Do y’all have any information on Ty Haywood?

Wish Micah wasn’t a quitter
No to playing Rutgers

Fans supported him. Shouldn’t that be enough?
I saw jason is going to transfer, Is that correct chris?
