There is a big 1 I miss that isn't covered. When creating a playbook you use to be able to create formations and actual plays. If you wanted to create a Full House based offense or a wing T you could. Pretty sure it was in the game year before Reggie Bush. I had Bush and Jamaal Lewis as my 2 RB's on the Jets. It could have been the year he was a rookie but in that version it was hard to trade for Bush. I ran all type of legal but weird formations. You could pick blocking scheme(straight block, pull, trap etc) where the RB ran to, WR route trees(which was my favorite. Its hard to find plays where I love all 3 WR's routes. Usually have to settle for 2 routes I am comfortable with) This was my all time favorite feature. I stopped playing Madden from 14(when NCAA ended) to about 19. So not sure when they got rid of it.

I understand that the NFL wants to be separated from concussions but I fully believe that by hard removing them, it makes them seem LESS serious, and the same applies to career-ending injuries. I knew how bad concussions and career ending injuries were because of how they effected franchise in the PS2 era. Seeing a lack of actual concussions and career-ending injuries just makes me think that the NFL wants to act like a brutal sport is a lot safer than it actually is.

Tell EA to add back the feature where you can assign corners to receivers by their NAMES. The "By Speed, Height, Overall" options do not always give you what you want. The feature was perfect and shouldn't have been removed. Removed over 10 years ago

Madden doesn't want to give players the defensive tools to play defense because they want everyone to have a chance to win.
How do you release a football Game that doesn't have real defensive match-ups option, Double coverage/bracket coverage on a receiver, no real 4 man pass rush, I really believe this is done on purpose, THIS IS NOT A REAL SIMULATION FOOTBALL GAME, NOT EVEN CLOSE, SPECIALLY FROM A DEFENSIVE PROSPECTIVE.
The "bruised sternum" injury represents the concussion in game.

When EA have these things in the game, it made the game so much fun to play. I Miss the helmet's poppin off and the ambulance coming out there player injury reports.

I just realized that concussions weren't an injury anymore, I've never noticed that
I dont know if this is exactly true, but its been said that concussions were replaced with "bruised sternum."

The lack of customization doesn’t excuse the ability to put different team color ways on cleats or gloves like we see in the game. The NFL also promotes “My Cause My Cleats” and they’re missing an opportunity to use this in a way that can promote these causes and the game. EA can use a micro transaction, that if someone wants to use a particular player’s cleats or package a bundle deal that uses all the players cleats involved, and send proceeds to these players causes. The lack of innovation or trying to immerse the user is what kills me. Meanwhile, I’m seeing videos of PC modders do what they say “they can’t do” or “it’s on their list.” We still have the same cleats from the last three or so years. They messed up the team color spats (still don’t have secondary colors) that they had in last year’s game. This game is incomplete! There’s promise, but this was nowhere close to being ready! They’re constantly giving us gimmicky features that aren’t that important and really mess the game up time and time again. There’s no aesthetic polish to the game, which in my opinion, should be a given. When College Football comes out I’m done with Madden until they can give us what we see on Sundays! Hopefully they don’t mess CFB up too!

That's like saying why fight crime b/c it won't stop. You can't stop it from being dangerous but you can do things to help. Which they should do.
@@imsumelse294the reality is that it's optics. Anyone who has played 5 years worth of football has had dozens of concussions that had no dramatic symptoms. After 10 years you've had hundreds. After an entire 12 season NFL career, possibly thousands. And everyone of those counts and negatively affects mental and physical health.
The excessive rules and corporate propaganda are just to strengthen their case in court and public opinion.
They're sweeping under the rug the fact that the only safe way to play football is to not play it at all levels. It's actually that dangerous.

the dynamic attendance goes back to the ps2 madden, when they introduced owners mode if your team wasnt playing well you'd have low turn out and at the end of the game if it was a blowout in going into the 4th q the audience would have less ppl. i think it was in ncaa as well
the helmet popping off tackling was in madden 06. it was so fun, i used to use a running back hitting the db while running the ball and knocked off the helmet of the db.
Cant remember which one, but I forgot to sign a medical team during the offseason. No warnings. Lost half my team to career ending injuries.
So, if the NFL has banned this in this game, let's be honest with ourselves here, if the new 2k football game ever does come out, it is not going to be exempt from the No fun league curse and is likely doomed to be completely ruined of everything by these awful creative restrictions of the league. and 10 years from now there is a gonna be a boom of indie devs will be creating football videogames that truly gives what players want from the small gritty details to the full customization of teams and players, maybe going nuts with the physics engine with a destructible interactive sideline, maybe strong modding support like nba2k. and the game just being fun in general. and not rely on a big corporate sport league that uses ulterior motives to keep its brand successful as a business.
I mean most of those indie games already exist
Problem is is getting the base gameplay and number of features up to par, we kinda take for granted just how much Stuff there is in these games lol
A feature I'm not sure ever existed but I wish would exist is having the ability to run the clock out and have realistic reactions where both teams know the game/ half is over and walk to the locker room. And another one would be where if there's less than 40 seconds on the clock left with the clock running and the teams come to the middle for their post game handshakes and jersey swaps etc
??? There’s only two or three kickers in the NFL that can make a 65 yard field goal (and only one that has).

There's some post game animations of players shaking hands and posing for pictures together and I'm usually mad that they're doing it when I'm way saltier about the game than my players are apparently lol

Removing career ending injuries may just have been a gameplay issue. The game has begun to focus more and more on advancement of the players on your team, so it's pretty crappy if you could lose all of the effort you've put into a player over years of in-game time just because of some RNG.
That's why like 2k they could just make an option to turn it off
I don't know also fun to see some backup come in and make his own name, that gets lost.
Though, not a fan of immediate career enders either. Nearly all the time that happens in sports the player spends years in rehab but can never make it back.

That's crazy, I've owned every Madden since 2000 until 2020 (even a few before 2000) and never knew about career ending injuries.

I miss being able to create a team, starting a new franchise and being able to fully customize the team uniform and colors was a blast.
I hate what they done with the cpu. I like that they made them smarter and work harder but I hate the bs they get catching in traffic between 3-4 defenders making diving catches with low ovr wideouts. The quick slant low point passes without gunslinger. And hit sticks are the worst it seems whenever you hit stick on all madden user or cpu they always bounce off the tackle and gain more yards. I don’t see any hit stick tackles anymore
I'll take the return of create a team if it's like with the 360 gen Maddens. No NFL logos can be used and no switching divisions. Though if they bring back create a team, I hope they finally get rid of those stadium options that have been around since Madden 25 (2013). The futuristic stadium still kinda holds up, but SoFi Stadium flipped the script in terms of domed stadiums.
Bruised sternum is code for concussion 💯. Never heard of a player getting knocked out a game with a bruised sternum.

The only problem with dynamic attendance is that the stadium would be half empty in the playoffs if it was raining
Hell, even the NHL games have dynamic attendance, to the point that x amount of sellouts is actually a season long goal for you franchise mode
Helmets popping off was taken out in Madden 2004, the Hit Stick didn't appear until Madden 2005.

I can see the player hold out being taken out. It could be like how some actors play a fictional role so well people start to call the actor by the name of the character they played.
Tbf Career Ending injuries has little to no place in Madden, or at LEAST it should be toggleable.
Iv had some injuries that went for 24 weeks 48 weeks and 52 weeks all in madden 24
All I want is a good franchise mode and less animated tackles as animated tackles ruin the game and QB’s they make them fumble way to much especially when someone like Josh Allen or Lamar Jackson run.
I remember playing Madden 2000 and have the ambulance come and taking players off the field if the injuries were bad enough.

I have Madden 13 on my PS vita and there is a few players who retire very young due to a career ending injury but they don't show during the injury report I don't think but after the season you can see some names of the injury for the players some have 9 experience or a little bit older but there is a few younger players and you are awesome EricRayweather and when I had my Xbox one the past version I saw some players getting concussions I don't know if you mentioned this but I feel like they should have sideline reporters after every injury this even goes for the none control player or after every halftime to tell people what the Head coach said to make their team better and during the super bowl and maybe the NFL players walking with the vice lombi the super bowl trophy to the potem like what happened before and I feel like you should be able to make people a offense conider like Josh McDaniels I know that the cpu can do that but you can't and I feel like players becoming a coach like in the past or maybe a scout can be a Head coach maybe

Back in the day probably madden 06 (not the crap 360 version) every once in a while you would get 'career ending' injuries. As the GM of those teams I don't miss the feature being gone but in real life shiiii happens.

This is proof that the NFL is responsible for the current state of Madden. They won't allow EA to have total control and make it the most realistic/best game possible. The NBA however could care less about what 2k does as long as the fans love it.
I mean NBA2K makes Madden monetization seem humble the NBA should probably come down harder on the 2k games lol

Why do gaming companies particularly ones who make sports games do anything in their power to take away the fun features gradually year after year
