As a 28 year Chevron employee, I can tell you the diesels are exactly the same. When the tanker goes to wherever he gets fuel, he selects diesel and for ag/off road red diesel he pushes an additional Red button. This injects the red dye into the “on road” diesel. They dyed the diesel so the IRS could catch truckers not paying the federal road taxes.
Diesel engineer, I'd agree. You're fine using offroad diesel. On road is just easier to find. Here in Indiana you can usually find offroad diesel at co-ops.
Finally someone that gives off good chill vibes and explains everything and understand it’s for light duty work and not for big construction jobs…We need a video when changing the oil, what size grease fittings, Pos and Cons you have come across…Thank You
Red diesel and road diesel are one in the same. The only difference occurs at the bulk plant when the delivery driver puts a packet of red dye in it. I operate a bushhog-light clearing business and use the red-off road diesel in my Kubota L 4701 all of the time and have had zero problems due to fuel.
Yep yep,and back up until the turn of the century off road fuel prices were about 50% of on road fuel prices but thanks to gubmint overtaxation there isn't much cost difference... 😠 😡
The boys are getting so big!!!!🥰 The older boy looks like Mom, youngest looks like Dad! What great kids they are!!!! Thanks for sharing them with us! I think I want a mini excavator, because it's adorable!!!😂😂
If it's a traditional set up, the tracks can be tightened via pumping greasing into the track adjusters. It looks like you also have mounting points for a mechanical thumb on the bucket to help pick up debris/brush.
The needle grease fittings are standard on some 4WD driveshafts and axles. They are used in situations where extra clearance is needed and where a regular zert would easily be knocked off. They have been around in the US for years. Congrats on the new equipment. It will come in handy on the homestead.
Seeing that big wooden crate brought back memories of when I was a child spent the summer at my grandparents and my grandpa had a big crate like that we played in all summer long as our playhouse
I just love your family and the way you teach your boys everything as they want to be involved. I think it's adorable that one takes after you and the other Angela ❤
What a fun and useful piece of equipment! I would love to see some cooking videos on good ol' country cooking Angela! Hope y'all have an awesomely blessed week!💖🙏💖
The sound of the diesel engine purr. That is SWEET. You are going to get a bunch of stuff done this summer. In ground pool, Cattle, Sheep, Meat Chickens and Emo's! Can't wait for all the videos. 🤣
You might want to add a thumb to your bucket. Looks like you have the Mountain brackets already on the boom arm. It would only be three pieces. The two arms and the piece that fits in front of the bucket
That's awesome. It's good that you are teaching your sons to work on it and operate it also. I would have been in so much trouble as a kid, digging holes everywhere. I would love to have one now.
Look how handsome those boys are and have growled so much I enjoy seeing them too I’m so happy how much moma and daddy show them how to put equipment together they are going to be smart beyond years the Hollars show there boys too I love seeing parents teaching them how to work tyfs much love and prayers ❤
That thing is awesome. I think it's a little bigger than the one you rented. Would be nice to have a few different buckets. Can you get an auger that would work with that? I know it's not a skid steer, but folks can dream.
Take a white paint marker and write down the belt and hose numbers under the seat panel that way there's no guessing and a quick glance will tell what part number to get..
That’s looks like waaaaay more fun than a whole wall full of shovels! Mini/micro excavator for the win! Looking forward to hearing your opinion on it over the long haul. 👍🏼
HOW MUCH FUN IS that! Glad you involved the kids and of course Angie. Should be a hoot using that thing. Half way through so assuming you will address cost but the chinese definitely have the ''Wal Mart' for big tools down. Thanks Sam and enjoy your new toy, not many folk get that chance.
Love it and the out takes at the end were hilarious. Your boys will be very helpful assisting with the new mini X. Loved the workshop build but love the family involved videos.
Congratulations on the new "digger". I looked into one of these but then went with a "towable" excavator. Our homestead is much to steep for a small tracked excavator. Turnover would be high risk. Looks like a great machine! Look forward to watching ya'll use it.
Usually want to do digging or other work with the blade facing the work, and pushed down as far as possible. This takes some load off the drive motors and will help them last longer. It also adds stability, which is needed on a small machine. But otherwise looks like a pretty good machine.
I’m glad your getting to work with companies like this, it’s fantastic and the amount of projects with this machinery will make things so much easier, honestly not a bad price too I was expecting it to cost more, I think it could be a fantastic piece of equipment for anyone with land who loves to do projects ❤️🇬🇧🇬🇧❤️
I've seen reviews on machines like this. The biggest thing about it is the tracks are narrow. Be careful and stay off slopes going sideways. Kubota diesel you can't go wrong.👍👍 Oh yes like me you don't need a counter weight. 🤣🤣👍👍
I does look like a well built machine. It is nice to have new toys to play with and good to have the boys involved. My wife watches all the time but when I saw "Mini excavator" I had to watch!! good stuff guys. Like you said, your just a little backwards on the controls. It did look a little weak trying to dig but was that just how you were operating it? Anyhow, for sure show us anything you do to it or with it. It will be awesome! Cheers Earl
Hi guys, wow what a wonderful little machine deal around a small farm to dig trenches, Gully pits etc etc keep up the good work looks like a lot of fun Cliff from Logan City Queensland Australia ❤❤❤🇦🇺😁
You can swap the controls by moving 4 hydraulic connections on the valve. Tracks adjust with a wrench behind the plate on the side of the tracks. The needle grease fittings work pretty well, but it's also cheap and easy to swap to Zerks.
Oh boy, Sam &Angela have a new toy. To bad you couldn't have rolled it out and used the crate as a small shed or for the boys to play with😊 Doug, @Diyfferent has one and he loves it Excited to see what you do with it.
you need to go over every bolt and test each of them for tightness, those machines are renowned for loose bolts on and around the turntable, you will probably put anything from 1/4 to a full turn and theres hundreds of bolts on the damn things, still better than a pick and shovel.
I have a 2 ton excavator Kabota Diesel- love it!! Water Lines, digging my pond, auger for post holes ( not going to miss post hole diggers!), ripper tooth for rocks, grapples for wood logs, 8” trenching bucket, tilt bucket/ I’m dreaming up jobs. Of course neighbors want to borrow it.
Awesome!! This will quickly be put to work on some trenches for electrical and water lines too. We have a pond in our woods that needs cleaned out I'm sure, too. :)
Thanks for sharing, yep the boys are catching on pretty quickly. Look forward to watching up coming videos on this machine. Went to their website to check them out!!
Get an extra bucket if a 6in is not available and cut it to your wanted width. Most steel on these mini is thin and weld the sides back on in your garage. These machines like you said are a lite duty flat ground use. I'd say a landscaper dream.
I feel like I’m watching a variation of Christmas Story and you won the special award and received the “ Fragile” box!! But didn’t get the leg lamp you got a “ Mini Excavator “ instead!!
In the sunny season attach the canopy- orange should have been the box color for heavy chain, weatherman and basics. And a sweet tea cup holder. Read a charts
Not to small, not to big, just right for home use, treat it with respect and it will last for years, Andrew Camarata who is on UA-cam and is a very skilled multi type machine operator has just bought a mini excavator to see what they were like, he was very impressed with it if fact he said for small jobs it was going to be his first go too choice, and believe Me he has many excavators to choose from.
I am so proud of y'all. Sam, you remind me of my little brother. He has gone home to with Jesus, but I watch y'all, and when you broke that cart down, it was like watching Mark. Your size, your tall, red beard is the same color. You, Angela, and boys are so awesome. May God bless y'all and keep y'all safe in his loving arms.
9:39 That thing with alloy fins on it (bottom left corner, in front of that reservoir), I have one on my kubota diesel engine for my log splitter which failed about a year or 2 after owning it. It killed the electric start and I now just hand pull it so long as the compression button is depressed. Not saying this is what you need to do but more a heads up if you smell the magic smoke or lucky enough to see it, that piece is more than likely the culprit..
Do they have the option to add a thumb? A lot of people I watch that have excavators, spend more time lifting and moving stuff and seem to use a thumb more than digging. Seems it would be a lot more versatile. Cool machine though. Have fun!

Ive heard this before. Good info to share. Thanks!
Tyfs that it’s greatly appreciated because I didn’t know that
Gday
we dont have on or off road diesel the farmers or companys just get a different price for it
cheers
Off road fuel is the same as highway fuel except the dye. In some states like Iowa the fuel that you buy for auto diesel is pure crap it's bio diesel.
Finally someone that gives off good chill vibes and explains everything and understand it’s for light duty work and not for big construction jobs…We need a video when changing the oil, what size grease fittings, Pos and Cons you have come across…Thank You
That you have your family helping you makes this so wholesome to me. Well done dad! Your one of the good ones
It's so awesome to see the whole family involved in a project. And Angela is certainly getting more comfortable in front of the camera!

It was my understanding that red dyed "off road diesel " has a higher sulfur content.
I love it when the little kid helps. He lights up when his dad lets him use tools
The boys are getting so big!!!!🥰 The older boy looks like Mom, youngest looks like Dad! What great kids they are!!!! Thanks for sharing them with us! I think I want a mini excavator, because it's adorable!!!😂😂
Mudd on tracks and dirt in the bucket sounds like a country song 😂
If it's a traditional set up, the tracks can be tightened via pumping greasing into the track adjusters. It looks like you also have mounting points for a mechanical thumb on the bucket to help pick up debris/brush.
These have a screw type track adjust. Take off the plate on the side of the tracks and adjust with a wrench
The needle grease fittings are standard on some 4WD driveshafts and axles. They are used in situations where extra clearance is needed and where a regular zert would easily be knocked off. I just love your family and the way you teach your boys everything as they want to be involved. I think it's adorable that one takes after you and the other Angela ❤

Maybe some of those... but not all of them! :P Hahaha All kidding aside... meat chickens would be fun & a root cellar too!
You might want to add a thumb to your bucket. Looks like you have the Mountain brackets already on the boom arm. It would only be three pieces. The two arms and the piece that fits in front of the bucket
I LOVE how far this homestead has come and watching you grow as a family. How fun to get a mini X. GOD bless
That's awesome. It's good that you are teaching your sons to work on it and operate it also. I would have been in so much trouble as a kid, digging holes everywhere. I would love to have one now.

Hi Sam and Angela, that’s an awesome machine! It would definitely be handy on the Homestead.
That engine you got is bullet proof. IMO they are the best. I own one no issues at all!
Love your videos and enjoy watching them. May the lord bless and protect you and your family
Congratulations on the new mini excavator. It's going to help a lot. Great that Issac and Elijah can use it fairly easily.
That thing is awesome. I think it's a little bigger than the one you rented. Would be nice to have a few different buckets.
Can you get an auger that would work with that? I know it's not a skid steer, but folks can dream.
The manufacturer shows an 8" auger attachment, and it has the extra hydraulics already there, so I would think so!
That would sure come in handy if available.@@sam-and-angela

A mini is a game changer....it's so versatile and so FUN! Tractor Hard! 🚜💪!
Cool that you have the whole family involved. You have a great channel.
😊 well, I am not surprised. You talked about wanting one a few videos ago. I am sure you all will enjoy this machine.
Nice video guys, I like the machine.
Cool machine. Great video. Love to see the whole family working on the unpacking ansld assembly. Your lads are great helpers.

Awesome! Mine is coming tomorrow! 😊
Wow!
Ok Sam this thing is really cool! And you can’t beat free! You guys can plant trees and all kinds of stuff with this thing!
A NEW TOY . I LOVE NEW TOYS. Have fun with it. Gods blessings your way today and everyday FROM NORTH CAROLINA
It was so cool watching you guys and the boys working on on and trying out the new equipment! Very nice kobota! 😊👍💕💕💕
Congratulations on the new "digger". I looked into one of these but then went with a "towable" excavator. Our homestead is much to steep for a small tracked excavator. Turnover would be high risk. Looks like a great machine! Look forward to watching ya'll use it.
I could totally see that. Our place before this was in the mountains where even a tractor would have been sketchy.
Get a thumb on that bucket and that thing will be mint! Congrats on the new tool!
Usually want to do digging or other work with the blade facing the work, and pushed down as far as possible. This takes some load off the drive motors and will help them last longer. It also adds stability, which is needed on a small machine. But otherwise looks like a pretty good machine.
Thanks for the advice ,im thinking about getting one
That can be a game changer for many projects and the Kubota is tough as nails
Smoothly and steady. He has this look out he will be driving it to town. Call it the CLAW as in Toy Story. Ha ha I love❤ it. Happy Valentine’s Day
😁
Congratulations Sam and Angela! Excited to see what you do with your new piece of machinery!
I like that you are having your boys help explain. GOOD practice for them. - A CHRISTmas greeting card family photo on the mini excavator.
Sam congratulations on the new toy. Looking forward to seeing all the projects for it. Stay safe and see you next time.
Wow!
That’s even smaller than the one “Diyfferent” bought for their place.
Good luck!
Nice! That should be very handy. I have seen several videos on these and would really like to get one someday. We'll see. 😁
I've seen reviews on machines like this. The biggest thing about it is the tracks are narrow. Be careful and stay off slopes going sideways. Kubota diesel you can't go wrong.👍👍
Oh yes like me you don't need a counter weight. 🤣🤣👍👍
That create box can make in a cool club house for the boys
cool lil mini X can't wait to see it in action the boys seem to love it 🙂 they are really getting big quick 💖
That’s so cute! 😂 I want to come and play with y’all’s cool toys! 🙋🏼♀️
I love that this is a Family Affair - You guys are doing well.
I does look like a well built machine. It is nice to have new toys to play with and good to have the boys involved. Glad see the family enjoying the new equipment. 😊 always informative.
Hi guys, wow what a wonderful little machine deal around a small farm to dig trenches, Gully pits etc etc keep up the good work looks like a lot of fun Cliff from Logan City Queensland Australia ❤❤❤🇦🇺😁
Very cool, that thing moves pretty fast! I think a 6 inch bucket for trenching is a good idea like you said
Nice to have is own toolbox, always with the machine.

Doug, @Diyfferent has one and he loves it

Hey Jim! I'm a watcher of Doug and Ashley's channel too! Sam and Angela are great friends with Doug and Ashley! Didn't know if you knew that.
@@tamistone7344What's the name of their channel please

That mini excavator is nice!
Wait did I see a pass through from your old work shed to your new workshop? That's awesome!
You did. :) It's still under construction, but will be shown on my Samcraft channel when it's done.
That's a bad ass little piece of equipment
Tracks are tightened by adding grease to fittings under top track
Looking forward to seeing more videos on the mini excavator!!
Congratulations! Amazing! Love watching your family!
Thank you so much!!
Cheers for the video. Getting mine delivered tomorrow and this video was helpful! Here in NSW Australia. Mines orange too yew!
Oh that looks like your sons will have fun growing up leaning to use this toy
I can see there will be hours of fun coming!

Nifty tool , I could use one of those !
Sweet! The perfect equipment for Y'all! Will definitely be an asset!❤❤❤❤
Really cool! By the way, Harbor Freight has Metric and SAE grease fittings on the cheap.
Congrations to Sam, Angela and the boy's
I see it’s already plumb for a thumb, that’s pretty cool and I like the fact it has a diesel in it! Nice!
I just put a hydraulic thumb on it the other day. :) That'll be in our next video. It makes a huge difference!
@@sam-and-angela that’s awesome Sam!
The crate wood will make good fort construction.

You are going to want a thumb and post hole attachment, and digging bucket. Also, there is a quick attach available.
Gooooooooooooood evening, Sam and Angela.
I am not sure how you will keep the boys off it. Incredible machine for the home owner.
I love y'all family ❤. The boys are so cute 🥰. They will be grown before you know it.
I have been looking at these for a while and everybody says they are definitely worth the price! Also you can never go wrong with a Japanese motor!
