Footnote; If you don’t have access to a drill or are afraid of power tools, you can get a bradawl tool, approx £/$ 2, not expensive at all. It looks like a little spike with a handle that you can just push through any pvc / wood to get you pilot hole started, much easier than trying to use a screw alone.
