I'm moving over to Northern Ireland in the summer and I have been meaning to run along this coastal path - so this video has been a pleasure to watch but also really useful for me thanks!
I love this path! A bit of advice for anyone trying it for the first time with our current weather. There's a stretch between Seahill and Cultra that's only a metre from the water at high tide and it gets a lot of sea spray or even waves washing over it in windy weather.
I am really enjoying your mix of camera shots from handheld to drone and mixed with the music. Really creating some nice videos. I hope Northern Ireland is employing you as a Goodwill travel advocate. Makes me want to make the trip. The good part is I do not have the feel that freezing winter wind coming off the water... Great for a 1 man operation.
I was looking forward to a new running video. I envy the opportunity to run along the coast. I have about 350 miles to the sea, so I look at it very rarely. Thanks for the nice video, running back was worth it in that awful weather. But as the saying goes: experiences don't just have to be pleasant, they have to be powerful!
@@StephenJReid tbh i'm not entirely sure what the actual proposal is,there is much opposition against it so i don't know how it will end up..also grey point fort is still closed as far as i know
My regular route. If you get a chance or looking to add some hills, take a turn into crawfordsburn country Park and add the 5k running loop. The hills are a killer
@@StephenJReid I’m not fully sure if it’s the parkrun loop but I’d guess so. I’ll send you the map on Instagram. Been my regular route for years and it saved me over the lockdowns.
Great video, watch out for those pesky seagulls around the drone. I’ve done Holywood to bangor and got the train back a few times, it’s a lovely route, especially on a sunny day.
The weather always goes against the UA-cam plans... Always. Although it got better in the end! New headphones? Bought some Aftershockz after you recommended some. They fantastic and the built in mic is amazing too! So thanks for that...
😂 coldest I’ve seen here was -12C, but typically doesn’t get much below -3C in most areas over winter. Definitely can’t farm all year, it’s too wet and cold. Fields are waterlogged and too cold for growth. The grass is green most of the year which is why it looks green. But other plants don’t come back to life until around April
Brought back old memories 😀, was '96 when I last rode the coastal path to Bangor and back. An old haunt. Lovely to see it again.
You're welcome! Dunno what I was doing in '96, might have been the year I got hit on the head with a brick 🤣
@@StephenJReid that explains a lot 🤣

You’re welcome! Hopefully the weather is better on summer, but no promises 😂😂

Good advice! Would have been fun this week 😬😬
Going to be cycling this route very soon !
Great share and loving the drone shots 🙂👍
Thanks! 🙂

Thanks very much! 🙂 Glad you enjoyed the video. Currently working on some things for the tourist board.
Beautiful!😍
I Enjoyed the Journey Run😊

Yikes! 350miles is nearly the entire length of Ireland! Glad you enjoyed the video though. That’s a great saying! 🙂
Nice looking route that one. Must give that a try. 👌
Well worth it!
There are big plans to integrate a cycling path there for that stretch so its nice to chronicle that route before it is forever changed..nice video
Interesting! so guessing the rougher bits will end up being turned into tarmac paths and widened?

Great vid. Yes please revisit
Thanks Andrew, I’ll be back 😁
Cheers Arny.

Thanks Gareth, I’m sure I’ll be back at some stage. Is that the Parkrun loop?

So far I’ve managed to avoid serious gull attack. Don’t trust em though!

Love my Aftershokz! Think new version on the way
You deserve a million views!
Thank you!
Hi Stephen I meant to ask you what happened to the red Aeropex. I have the blue ones and love them. I bought them based on your video many moons ago.
Still have the red ones. Watch this space though.... new model on the way.
Lisburn to Groomsport next Stephen! 🤔😎
That’s 25miles one way!
Great work Stephen, I always hello to the birds. Beautiful place for a run. What is that app again that shows your run?
Thanks Michael 😁 The app is called Relive
Looks lovely, definitely adding it to the list!
What shoes do you currently have in rotation Stephen/are your favourites?
For Road I’m running in Nike Zoom fly 3. My favourite road shoes to date.
@@StephenJReid Nice one, and trail ones of choice??
@@BBSRFC Hoka Speedgoats for longer distance, Salomon Wildcross for shorter muddier boggy runs
"everything's so f***ing green!" What's the coldest it gets where you live? Can you guys farm all year relatively easily?

Toogood, what's in a (last) name hey? :-)
Great name!
Eat the dulce 😋
Think that was kelp I was trying to eat!
How's the war going for you?
The war? Which war?
@@StephenJReid Sorry, I thought your country was close to Russia
@@WMaste Ah, no I'm technically in Europe, but about 3500km away from Russia. I'm from Ireland, so very far west. Still very concerning!
