I love his answers! He’s very easy to talk to. He had a challenging technical race!! He’s driven and talented! Can wait to see him put together the perfect race in Paris!!
I appreciate Michael Norman's comments on accountability for his performance and his commitment to improving it. His issue stemmed from not being challenged in previous meets, and he needs to make some adjustments, which I hope will work. His competitors in Paris will be much more challenging than what he experienced on Monday, but as long as he runs each heat as if it were a final-like Grant Holloway, Sydney McLaughlin, and Levrone-he will be just fine. Bring home the gold, Michael!
That first sentence from Norman lets me know that he a gold medal contender . He isn’t afraid of being honest and himself , that’s important to being a champion. A few years ago , he would have answered like an ai robot with a generic response. I think he is a real shot this Olympics
Go pedal to the medal like Wade Van Niekerk. Thats the only way to run the 400m in record time. Fuck holding back until the end. Wade Van Niekerk is the blueprint to sprint 400m.
Michael should have had more races to deal with the kinks but it sends a clear message to athletes that one or two races before major events will not cut it...the big 3 women in Jamaica are about to get a reality check this weekend about resting on their laurels....
I think that Michael is just not race sharp yet, but I believe that he will fine tune his race strategy by Paris. I believe that he was thinking about dropping a sub 44 race, and he may not be quite ready to hit that mark yet. This could be a blessing in disguise.... because he will be hungry and focused in Paris.
SRR got 3rd in 2008 Olympics because she went out fast and had nothing left. 2012 she let others pass and then she ran them down for gold. Norman better clean up and focus on the medal and not the tîme. Good Luck in Paris!!!!!🎉🎉🎉
Quincy may have been better, but it IS about racing strategy to a large degree. Michael Norman has run 43.45, so his PB is way faster than everybody else's. If you go out too hard in a 400m, you'll tank down the home stretch. Ask Matthew Boling, who wrote the book on it. You have to plan the race and then execute it to maximize performance.
@@blainenewton7188 as a former 400m runner, you hit the nail on the head. Michael ran his first 200 in 20.9. With the backstretch in 10.0 flat. Way too fast!
He talks like a country club golfer. Bro lacka any fight. Not willing to put ont the work, and now hes dead last and didnt even try in Olympics final. Dozens of other runner woudl have at least fought to make u some ground. Norman ran like he was just collecting a paycheck
What are you talking about? Norman has run 9.86/19.70/43.45. Those PBs are WAY faster than everybody else's here, so where are you getting this idea that he can't beat Quincy Hall? This is the Olympic trials, dude, not the Olympics. Get a clue. SMH

He ran that backstretch faster than a lot of peoples open 100M.
Yes but it's a flying 100m split, a lot faster than an actual 100m

Proof that at the elite level, performance matters more than reputation...
@@JappaKneads Those aren’t mutually exclusive tho
I was half listening to this half cursing about just seeing the Athing final only to see Michael react to that 800m race in real time 😔

Actually he talks like a used car salesman. Nothing he said matches the work it takes. And now hes last in 400 Olympics and didnt even try.
@@Texascudaguy he deceived me bad bro
Sad af that he perfiles like that. I thought this was his year to prove himself
im excited for him, i feel like he can run faster in paris. He seems humble and pretty nice man!
As a fan, it's frustrating to watch his sporadic performances since 2018. The way Quincy Hall ran him down in the final straight away was disturbing.
Go get that GOLD my dear Michael Norman xx
His reaction to Athing 💔
I don't think Michael's opponents fear him, which is something important that is missing.

He's so articulate and so self-aware? Also he's cute??
He said she was out early on
She literally got tripped you bozo.

He definitely wanted to run 43. "Do you feel comfortable being a 400 meter runner" as he splits 10 flat on the back stretch. Stupid questions

It’s awful what happened to Athing Mu…. even Michael Norman was surprised and wondering what happened to her.
He supposed to be a 200/400 double he is settling for less!
He needs to be tougher and grow some balls if he wants to win gold!
💯
My favorite athlete
Salty 😂😂😂😂
It wasn't really about race strategy. Quincy was just better.

Michael is one of the most disappointing athletes. He had so much talent and potential but under performs in almost every major championship.
You won't medal in Paris either
He’s so arrogant and overrated the same thing happened last Olympics 🙄
How is he arrogant? Just saying anything now 😂

He can't beat that dude. That's all it is to it. Even if he trains he can't beat Quincy Hall. Give it up dude! You lost. He can't accept defeat.
He beat him at worlds in Eugene?? Hahahah
Agreed. The better man won.
Quincy DOG Hall best American 400 meter sprinter 2 years in a row.
How is examining what needs to be improved and what went wrong not accepting defeat? Stupid comment
