All of these streets are so incredibly wide and full of parked cars but hardly anyone is driving. Most people are walking, biking, or taking public transportation. Doesn't seem like the most efficient use of space.
@@mikaveekoo The majority of Helsinki households do not own cars. In Kallio especially, very few people do. Still the majority of the public space is given to the minority.
Nope. Finland is near the global top when it comes to road safety. And it's getting even better: Finland reduced road deaths by a substantial 29% over the decade to 2023, while the average decline in the EU was just 16%. When I was a kid in the 70s or a teen in the 80s, the situation was really bad (well, as in most countries): then had less traffic but more accidents.
Drug markets are in certain parks, just look for the African men or Romani women. Homeless are not in camps, but a nearby shelter in Hakaniemi. Kallio does have a food bank.
I'm sorry but with your logic everything in the world looks Russian? Are you a bot? Because how come you think that they don't like when someone says "looks russian" when nobody even says like that towards Finnish cities. It's like saying that New York looks VERY EGYPTIAN 😂
Thank you for the wonderful walk! Lovely to see such a walkable city.
can't wait for summer *sigh*
35:10 This small park reminds me of the parks I would walk by as a child in my neighborhood :)
Thanks for the video.

Um, that better be a joke.

I lived in Kallio for seven years in 80's. I had no car. I never felt that pavements there are too small.
is this safe place for hipsters?! but finally the autumn has begun and maybe we see more videos with rain and autumn colors!
Nice video

It's an old district and close by is a huge community garden.

There are many of them in everywhere, but Kallio is a small district and Finns are generally safe drivers.
.... and of course, real abandoned cars are usually transported away by the city.
Where are the homeless camps and the open air drug markets?
Weirdo.

It's full of junkies and lunatics.

What are you talking about?
Not true.
