Girl, I adore your videos, have been subbed to you for years. I love your decluttering videos and deep cleaning...as much as I love your quilting and learning to sew series. I even love the videos where you visit France and mom. So, it should go without saying, I'm one of your subs that love love love it when you talk to us. It's personal, like friends discussing their day, their lives and their world and sharing no-nonsense wisdom. I love ya, girl. Keep going, you're doing wonderfully!

    Hello Sophia,
I had to pause the video to give you a piece of my mind, because when I was turning 50 I thought just like you. Well dear I was wrong and so are you! Please lose that mentality that you are old. I am 69 years old and I have friends who range from 50-86 and they don’t consider or act old. One of my friend at 72 got braces on her teeth, another at 66 started a self awareness class, my 86 year old friend goes swimming, takes art classes and in the summer loves to go to the beach, another 74 at 70 met a nice partner and they travel the world. I also had a very dear friend Margaret who was much older the me and I was always admiring the way she approach life with such gusto. Margaret always looked and smelled pretty and even at 86 she never considered herself to be old. Margaret was killed crossing the street on her way back from the florist. Margaret was buying flowers for the church. She did not died from illness even though she had her share of illness. Margaret is gone but, left beautiful legacy and one of the many things she taught me was never, never have a complex about my age. As for my self I learn to drive and brought a car at 66. I hope you take my advice and don’t waste these precious years thinking you are old because you are not.

I think you did a good job and you said it, different place now and your make up routine reflects that. I retired this year and did the same thing except I kept my large lighted mirror since my eyes don't see as well as they used to. I find that I don't need to spend time getting gussied up (as my hubby calls it) and would rather spend my time doing all the things I didn't do while working full time. Proud of you!

I've watched you for years and you should be so proud of the progress you've made!!
The last time you did your makeup I thought, "She's making "It can go" decisions so much faster...except for those pallets!" LOL And look at you go now!
So now I just have to wait patiently for the makeup brush revelations! hehehe
Love that you're able to donate and help others feel better too!

Yes we do go through different phases. We have to adjust our routines during these changes, the things we keep and don’t keep and general life. Sticking to one way, same routine, same items all our life, we’ll it’s not realistic. Change is good, we can’t do the same thing all our life, we become complacent. Change & refresh!! Kudos Sophia! 💜👍🌸 I think it’s called evolving 🥴🥴😬😬 I’m constantly changing things up! I like it!

Girl, you don't need to justify to us what you're keeping ! There's no makeup police that says you must pare down to one blush! Or that everything needs to be hidden. I love what you've done and am always amazed at how everything does come together . I agree that keeping things out will motivate you to use what you have and there isn't an overwhelming amount so it's pleasant to look at.

Yes, we reach different stages in our lives about make up. I'm down to 3 lipsticks, face makeup, powder, blush and eyebrow powder and I love it!! I even kinda make my own loose face powder by buying a shade or so darker and adding corn starch until I get the color I want.

Sophia please don’t be sad about the makeup. You loved it while you had it and that’s what matters. It’s like clothes that stop fitting or that go out of style. It’s never wasting money. Seasons of life change and so do the things you need or want. 🙂🌸

I haven't worn make up in years but had it in my side table ..just in case. I finally just bagged it up and threw it out. It was not easy ..I cringed and hesitated for so long. Now I have moisturizer, one mascara, and a couple light colored lipsticks. I love it.
You will feel so much lighter once you let go of stuff you really do not use. Feel good about it.
    Awesome sort.

Great job Sophia! I am inspired to declutter my makeup, because like you, I want simplicity. 😊 I have kept things thinking I will use it and I have my favorites that I reach for instead, so clutter grows. Really like the cart & how it fits beside the vanity. You are doing a fantastic job, keep up the great work, please continue to chit chat with us. Pay no attention to the naysayers please. The phases of our life really do bring about change. Putting all that extra makeup in quarantine and realizing you didn’t reach for it made the process go so fast. 15 pallets gone and keeping only 12 lipsticks! I like the little rolling drawer cart. Perfect for that space and out of the way.

Hi Sophia, you did a wonderful job, better than me. The 2 I am avoiding is makeup and jewelry. I’m proud of you letting go. “Out of sight, out of mind”! It’s so true. Actually now you see what you have and you will use it up. Save $$$. Don’t beat your self up. Don’t you watch some of these other video’s where these young woman are sooo spoiled!!! It blows my mind. Everything I purchase is such a treat to me. I’m financially limited and therefore better off in some ways. I always travel the Middle of the Road in life. Someone out there has it a lot worse off than me. Counting your blessings. P. S. I love when you talk. Your so genuine and I’ve learned a lot about life from you. I’m 74 yrs young and I put on my make up every day . Light. It helps me to get thru ea day of this depression. You do the same. Your beautiful❤️

No biggie Sophia, I don’t think it’s wasted money. You bought it you enjoyed it for awhile, you are done with it. People go out to dinner and spend $50 or more and enjoy it, you savored it and it’s done. We don’t try to save it because we spent so much money on it! Lol 💜👍🌸 Apparently I have a lot to say today 😬😬😬

From the beginning of watching you and your makeup to now is really refreshing. It used to feel like hoarding to me. The shadow you have now will last for years if you never get anymore. Those subscription makeup delivery things might have been fun to get and experiment with but you ended up with a lot you never wanted. Really great job keeping what you will use and easy to get ready in the morning. No shame in changing our likes and dislikes. The money was already spent so I let it go without guilt.

Great job dear Sophia. You have gotten rid of a ton of makeup over the years. Different things work for us over the years. We all have makeup that has not worked and we just have to get rid of it and move on. My daughter in law loves makeup and I think she said MAC lets you choose the colors for an eyeshadow palette. Saves a lot of space because a lot of palettes have colors we love and colors we never use. Four blushes are reasonable. You do not need to only have one blush. All your makeup fits nicely in your new organizer. Your Louis XV white chair sounds perfect for your bathroom. I also got the idea when you mentioned about the two white pieces you found to put a top on and use as a vanity with your lovely chair. Perfect for sitting and doing skincare and putting on makeup. Love when you talk to us. Can’t wait to see the new video of your bathroom makeover. Keep rocking Sophia!

Congratulations on your makeup decluttering. I was watching when you built the big vanity and couldn't believe all the stuff you had. Now you're down to one container. It's amazing. My only negative is the four drawer cart. Do you really need it? You're getting rid of the bureau but replacing it with two tables with flat tops, drawers and a shelf. What will go in those drawers? Rethink the cart and return it.

At 70 (and with chronic illnesses) my needs have changed also, like you. I so enjoy listening to you as you make so much sense and sound just like I "think". Put Scott's chest in the attic!! LOL. You need to change things until you find the way they work the best and sometimes that can take many changes! Also I get bored after a long time of looking at the same things, the same way. I donated it to a local Nursing Home they have an activity once a week called " Pretty Ladies" they paint some of the patients nails and put makeup on them. As I'm getting older too, I'm not as into makeup as I use to be either I have my basics and some favorites and that's it. You have been very inspiring to me and you keep it real :D

I decluttered my makeup in the new year. I divide my makeup into 4 weeks. Every Saturday I take out my new makeup and put the past weeks makeup away. I tend to get bored if I don't switch it up. I am 57 and still enjoy make up.

I have enjoyed this series! You are by far my favorite UA-camr. You are incredibly real and one of the only ones that I feel I can relate to on a personal level. So, bravo Sophia! Way to go for pushing through your tiredness from your busy work week and making your cozy, wonderful home that much more functional for you. Take care!

I’m so at the age where I don’t really want “stuff”. If I buy anything I want to buy quality but less items especially when it comes to clothes. I want to simplify my space and my life. I will keep the things that I absolutely love and of course necessities but everything else can go. I think it could be an age thing and honestly I’m just content and that’s a good thing. I’m definitely on board with the motto “Less is more”. I use to watch beauty gurus on UA-cam and thought I needed all these products. I’m a stay at home wife and mom and don’t go far so I really don’t have the need for so much. I need one foundation, one blush, one mascara, eyeliner and maybe two or three lipsticks but that’s it. I’m definitely on a journey to minimalism and I’m loving it.😊❤️

You did great. Don't feel guilty, you are giving to a good cause. Our priorities change so much over our lifetime and you only have to watch one of your early videos to see how far you have come! ❤

Loved this video, and yes Sophia, you have come a LOOOONG way! BUT, I have to ask everyone-does anyone else feel like they could watch and listen to Sophia move around the makeup containers in that acrylic holder forever!? So relaxing...

Sophia I am listening to you again. It is like I need to hear your sweet voice. You my dear are a very nice person and you do what is right most of the time. You did the right thing for your family with the siding for the house. That was what was needed. It is ok to make things easier for your self. The ladies will enjoy the makeup. You need not explain for making yourself comfortable . Life is good with you my friend.
