It was my favourite game! Still, whoever asks, as a fierce gamer of the past, I call this game as my favourite game. Release of NuclearWar is 1989. Mega lo Mania is released at 1991. I think, this game is the main inspiration of Mega lo Mania, which is the predecessor of Civilizations -not only turn based ones, also real time strategies like Settlers or red alert or lately Age of series etc.- Hence , this game is the first specimen, the main ancestor of a huuuge genre. And definitely deserves to be called as a favourite game. Thanks much for sharing.
Agree with you talking about amiga scene but Dont you think m.u.l.e could be first per tour strategy based game or maybe some other obscure 8bits title of this genre ?
@@portnawak Honestly, I wasn't aware of M.U.L.E; have checked some videos and yes you're quite right. BIG RESPECT! Release date of MULE is 1983. What a crazy game considering the possibilities and resources of those days. Even generating a random number was a nightmare those days, MULE has an AI managing computer driven players. Amazing game in terms of that era.
Watching the shit kicking off in Iran reminded me of this game. While watching the intro, I could still hear the floppy disc drive buzzing and clicking.
Give this as a multiplayer players vs players and you really got a party game winner. Should be relatively easy even to make one. Yes I know defcon, but this is more simple and thus would work more easygoing manner.
One of my favourite Amiga games. The PC version doesn't have the animated intro and, the one I used, the graphics were slightly overrevved. The only addition I'd say is that, in this demo, he must have clicked as the high score screen loaded at the end. There's normally the 'winner' jumping gleefully in an apocalyptic landscape, and saying "I won. I won."
The "Winner" that you described is only for one of the AI's that you are up against. If you win, you will get no fanfare, no avatar character of you saying "I won, I won, I won."
I think I remember seeing a flash version of this on the internet. I'm not sure where I found it, but I do recall it being called NeclearWar, so... Just so you know.
@juggep80 No that's incorrect, you had to produce weapons two or more times in a row to have everyone turned against you (in fact once you clicked on Nuclear War after having chosen to build for the 2nd time, a warning message was displayed telling you that you were stockpiling). You could prop even all over the game, no penalty occured. That is, some of your city could take off towards the L5 space colony or get destroyed by the Big One, but that could happen any moment when prop... :D
Go and search the Play Store for Drop The Bomb: Nuclear War. I would hope anyone watching this vid would like it :-) It's not a direct remake, just very similar and overall less reliance on RNG. No characters added (yet), not sure they would be allowed these days is the problem.
Exist a game similar that improve the gameplay, is called "World Domination II", is a flash game, but is really good, is better than this and can run in any windows
This game is pretty easy, if you never get attacked in any way. Normally, at reasonable difficulties, at least two opponents try to roflstomp you throughout the game.
I remember my record was 225 milions with 1 city because I played a propaganda war with Gandhj (he never uses nukes only propaganda) with alines immigrants twice and one city gone into orbit, absolutely fun
What a disturbing game! Oh you had bomb shelters only 8 million killed! Ya that is a relief! I bet people in Japan appreciate the subtle attempt at humor the makers of this game give us when dealing with the subject of mass death and misery.
Used to play this for hours. Nice memories ☺️
One of the best games of all time, hands down. Super addictive, very comfy and all your friends want to have a round every time they're over.
Great game--brought back tons of memories. God--has it really been almost 30 years since the Amiga came out???
megatons of memories loal
The DEFCON of Amiga era :)
8:00 lol when you build the 100mt crowd pleaser "ooooohhhhhh "
Damn, that game passed me by at my hardcore Amiga time.. THX for playing!
Same here. Never heard of it. Maybe it wasn't cracked and pirated? lol
It was my favourite game!

I'd love a modern version with G.W. Ambush, Ben Lethaljahu, Wladimir Putler and Kim Jong-Boom
Xa Ven that would be awesome
exist a similar game, "world domination II" interested?
Yes! BloodyBama, Zelenboom and Porosucker
I played this game alot back in the days :-)
+Erol Alici Me too, but on a Tandy HX1000.
I used to thrash this game back when I was in high school, cheers for posting...
loved this game. having watched it again ive realised that the high score screen pic looks like Passchendaele battle aftermath
Omg, this video was put onto youtube before google bought out youtube, over 18 years ago! Amazing to see aiga history as well..
Really enjoyed this, back in the days!
Ahhhh, my first political education.
LOL!!!
The 'I win' ending was brilliant...
Also the cow cannon!
Love the Dr. Strangelove reference in the opening. This game makes nuclear holocaust bitingly funny... :D
1:27 And strangely - Ghadaffi has been the one to outlast them all. This was a superb game.
They got Gaddafi too, someone used propaganda too effectively against him
Ah the memories. I played this for hours

I haven't seen this game in so long I am really hoping there's an availability to play it.
This was so much fun, i didn't need to know English as a kid to play this

Your citizens made:
1 100MT Warhead
*ooooooohhhh*
:-D
This game is one I never owned on my Amiga 500, but it would have been one I played all the time.
that nuclear explosion is really impressive animation
How about a nice game of... chess?
Battle chess?
One of my favorite amiga games. :)
Awesome game, thanks for the clip.
I loved this game …

Hug me with nuclear arms!
Pliz, someone! Make a free remake for steam!
I would pay and soonest you to do so (if I had the money)
Grab Defcon if you haven't yet.
JCRichman Yes, I know that exists, I just don't have any of my own money
Was only making a statement.
Exist a game similar that improve the gameplay, is called "World Domination II", is a flash game, but is really good, is better than this and can run in any windows
You can change the smiley face in your opponent’s screen but I never understood what it was supposed to do. Anyone?
Difficulty level
Kookamamie... "I'm Batman." ..just wow. XD
Do you know the name of the game? I searched for "Nuclear war" ..Found nothing
Wow 15 years ago you are getting old...
@TheVoiceOfReason93 umm and how is called
Roses are red
Violets are blue
Last time something dropped that hard it ended World War 2
this game will be a hit on the iPad or iPhone ! :)
Can play it on the RG350 now.
The fact that you did not pick Not Ghandi in a game about nuking everything should be a warcrime in itself.
@SwedishDirector "Why dont they make these kind of games anymore?"
Because they want to do it for real.
This is exactly how it will play out.
What's with all the TWOK references!?
This game is pretty easy, if you never get attacked in any way. Normally, at reasonable difficulties, at least two opponents try to roflstomp you throughout the game.
Noone ever chooses to have a game of chess anymore.
Excellent stuff! Really
Oh man, I miss NWC. :(
A old prediction of a bad future realising nucler rage
We need a Remake of this Game ;) :D
I loved that game as I was a kid. You were bloody lucky, that the other one´s dosn´t look at you and destroyed them self. It was a easy game.
Probably recorded a bunch of matches before having this match handed to him
God- hmm I wonder what humans think of life
Sees game
God- what have I done.....to create such a beautiful generation 🤩

Castro's the only one who's still alive.
Where can i download this beautiful piece of retro game for free? Anyone?
30 years ago: "New World Computing" Next year: "New World Order"
Joshua:... Prof Falcon this is a strange Game, the only winning move is not to Play... Do you like to play a game of chess.?
We have a problem about ..
- ok nuke.
Victory screen you mention is only for AI Winners, that's also logic considering that you can't choose who are you as a leader.
@DorohnL Yeah! Moo missile ftw :D
Lucky one! The opponents did not attack you a long time in this match . ^^
Yeh the game never made any tactical sense.. he was bombing and using propaganda on old mate in the too left hand corner with no repercussions. 🤦♂️
they should remake this game like this
new graphics
more oponents
more strategic options (ex.spy)
more random events
exist already, u wanna?
Id like to play this on my phone
They renamed it, it's called World Domination 2
1 down - 3 to go...
the original dethcon
I remember my record was 225 milions with 1 city because I played a propaganda war with Gandhj (he never uses nukes only propaganda) with alines immigrants twice and one city gone into orbit, absolutely fun

With Infidel gone, only Jimi Farmer remains...
You're forgetting Gorbachef.
Yes, even three years later.
@@nicknumber1512 My God! How could I forget about him! I'm in the corner being ashamed if anybody needs me 😧
