- In this class, we explore the profound influence of women in biblical history by focusing on two contrasting examples: Delilah and the wives of Solomon, as well as Abigail and Michal, the wife of David. We examine how these women’s actions impacted the strongest and wisest men of their time, ultimately leading to their downfall or redemption. The discussion highlights Delilah’s betrayal of Samson and how Solomon’s many foreign wives turned his heart away from God, emphasizing the strength of influence over both intellect and physical might.
We then shift focus to two women from David’s life: Michal, who despised David for his joy in worshiping God, and Abigail, who wisely intervened to prevent David from shedding innocent blood. Through this comparison, we see two roads of influence-one leading to blessing and peace, and the other to bitterness and destruction. The class draws powerful lessons about the impact of our choices and influence on others, especially in matters of faith and obedience to God.
