There are 2 big differences from 2024- social media and the electorate demographics. In 20 years, the social media has taken up information dissemination as opposed to MSM in 2004. The MSM is full of these liberal elite journos who used to control agenda. Now that role is taken up by social media.
Secondly, the older generation who were adicted to congress and caste politics and giveaways has been slowly replaced by a younger aspirational ambitious rational and informed voter. And this replacement will continue for some more time, and congress and regional family parties will disappear. I see bjp and maybe aap surviving.
Entire media in 2004 gave NDA 275+ seats in Opinion polls. Media again gave hung Parliament in 2009.
No election is won till votes are counted.
However, BJP has grown in UP, Bengal & Assam in last 10 years. In other words, BJP has gained 50 seats extra compared to Vajpayee/Advani era.
