Building Ben Eater's CPU ( Part 5 ) Finishing The Registers. Digital Logic Sim.

- Опубліковано 18 жов 2024
- This is part 5 of a video series where I replicate Ben Eater's 8-BIT CPU in Digital Logic Sim.
In this video, I make the Memory Address Register, the Instruction Register, the A Register, the B Register, and the Output Register.
I use the Registers and Buffers from part 3 to make them.

Awesome bro
@@GuitarCube-zc7wh Thank you!
Hello I'm duck from da discord
@@luckyagency4068 Hey.
Thanks for joining my server.
Really nice! Will you be building the physical version of the SAP-1 aswell or just simulated versions ?
I started a patreon to be able to fund stuff like that. Hopefully, I will be able to. But I don't have the money to be spending like that on a hobby.
Am I the only one who is using this series as tutorials? lol
I would hope other people are as well.
But I don't really have any way of knowing that.
Also, do you have an estimated time until the next video?
@GreenNotebookGaming Tomorrow after noon. Right now, it's 7pm for me, so it's like 20 to 22 hours from now.
@@ajax123z Oh, we are in the same time zone.
@GreenNotebookGaming Nice.
Hello Ajax can you please explain why we need as many as 2 signals CLOCK and other (Store,Reset)? I just use 1 signal for store and reset without clock signal.
What do you mean by 2 clock signal. It has a single clock, a single store, and a single reset.
Can you show me what you are talking about? I'm learning and still barely know what I'm doing. So just saying your way is better doesn't help me. I'd need to see it to understand it.
Can you post a video of your registers and how they work with your CPU.
Like I fully don't understand what you mean by 2 clock signals. The Clock just needs one high pulse to store or reset depending on which one is high when the clock goes high.
@@ajax123z Idk I haven't finished the processor yet, so I don't know.
And about the signals Well, for example, when you need store some data to register, you need to immediately activate the STORE signal and press the CLOCK, and only then the value be stored to register. Thk
@@ajax123z Thk u! Well okay, good luck with the project 👍🏿
Yeah. That is how Ben Eater's registers for his CPU work. And that is how the register works in Logisim Evolution as well. So that's how I made them.
And again I just don't know enough to understand how a different build would work without seeing it in action.
First.
Btw where do you live? It's like 8:30 and the vid is 1 hr old already
@CybernetonPL I am in the EST/EDT time zone. Right now, it's 2:35 am
I couldn't sleep and decided to make this.
@@ajax123z well good for me cuz I'm still struggling to make CPU inside Minecraft clone. I mean you won't but it's called mini world in case u wanna challenge yourself
@@ajax123z Oh
Oh?
