Wow Casas has a lot of promise! Feels like he could have gotten quite a bit faster if he had nailed the fly/back turn, possibly under world champ time!
@@stefanossalas3154 , one more fly stroke would have likely just messed up his flow and only cost more energy needed heading into his underwater work off the wall... it wasn't the most beautifully timed 1st 50 turn, but was of course on the superb pace being nailed to set the record as it was. It's all good ! Cheers, wherever you are 🏊🔛
@@donkoh5738 It’s always better to hit one more stroke rather than glide. You lose all momentum with a glide. You can hit a half stroke and crash into the wall and it’s better than gliding.
@@RatbyPlays - thanks for reply, but not necessarily. The crash stroke method might be most effective for a fly event finish, but for an I.M. turn , the aerobic system overall and various thresholds, including psychological, could potentially be enhanced with a slight nominal .2 second glide, gearing up all systems including psychological for a monstrous underwater leg and following 50 split to make up -- e.g., in this case showing a national best 100m split. 🏊🔛 it's all good bro!
@@stefanossalas3154 lets be honest neither a glide or half stroke are what he should or shouldnt have done, what he needs to do is add another fly kick to the start of his race so that he hits the wall on a full stroke
He really lost time from fly to back & his free split has been faster. He’s swam his ass off this year too. A lot of folks are going after that WR but now he’s on that list
lol, and a lot of arm chair critics out there too don't forget :D ! No, not 'a lot of time' was lost on 1st turn after completing such a powerful fly split, closing with a superb 100m split... and luckily he didn't swim his ass off because he definitely needed it to drive that monster closing 50 kick ! It's all good : ) cheers to this champion, Casas 🏊🔛
US record meaning a swim in a US Open (in the United States). American record is fastest by an American (Lochte) no matter where it happens (China), which also happens to be the WR.

Yeah. It looks like he could have taken one more stroke

You can tell in his eyes he's not satisfied. Crazy to think what he can do in the future.
Amazing. I’ve never watched this man. Does he regularly perform so well? Leon has a solid rival now
He's been lurking in this event for a while. I knew he was going to be good in this event when he almost chased down Lochte in this event in 2018
OMG the above water camera angle is AMAZING!!!!
Absolutely agree. Really adds a great dimension in being able to see their underwater stroke - especially the breastroke. Fantastic.
I was having an aneurysm during the last 50 because I thought Shaine was gonna break 55
US Record?
casas vs carson foster vs leon marchand
and potentially sates or chase
Such a smooth stroking style and technique with so much speed 🔥🔥
He did not set any record here. Even the meet record is phelps 1:54.7
Marchand vs Casas 💞
Of course the day I’m not at the meet this happens
And the 100 fly
xD this guy can swim everything
My guy was mad he didn’t get the WR
Oh he dangerous
He swims every style so beautyful
that fly to back turn physically hurt me
His fly to back turn was soooooooooooo long.
Probably coulda cut 0.5 there. Really shoulda been the third guy to swim 1:54 in this race just there
@@user-em4wh5ji3w I was so excited that he might have been during this race
No?
Great job!
How can this be the new US record if the WR belongs to Lochte (who happens to be from the USA)?

US record is the world record isn't it !?
Would like to see what he could do in a 2 free

Dude's going to break the WR
Unless Léon Marchand breaks it before...
Yeeaaaaaa Shaine
How is this a national record in any sense of the word. The US national record is the WORLD RECORD surely
Fastest time on US soil, AKA the US Open Record
I want see at this men in the olimpic's
That shit light asf. I got 14 year olds from my town going 1:50s on a bad day.
This is longcourse bro
LC. Swimmers not sharpest tools in the shed.😂
Long course meters at that
