A man who couldn't look at another boxer dog without crying after his previous pooch's sudden passing was brought to tears of joy at his desk when his wife surprised him with his dream puppy at work. Four years earlier, Chad Hamill, 38, from Latrobe, Pennsylvania, had been driving home when his beloved female boxer, Jada, started to get "car sick." In a shock twist, Chad and his wife Rachelle, 30, later discovered that Jada had a blood clot on her lung, and the couple were forced to make the difficult decision to have her put her down that day. Chad was devastated: Jada had been his "heart dog" for 11 years and he had raised her from a puppy. For a long time after Jada’s passing, Rachelle said Chad couldn’t look at another boxer without crying. But having seen her husband move into an emotional condition to have a boxer in his life again, Rachelle started secretly searching, coming across a puppy named Louie. On October 18, having given Chad's boss a heads-up, Rachelle quietly entered her husband's place of work - a car dealership in Greensburg, Pennsylvania - where she approached unsuspecting Chad. As soon as he saw his wife holding the puppy, he immediately started to cry joyous tears at his desk.

So sad for so long when you lose one that's been there so close and you've taken it for granted so long. Whenever you're reminded of your baby it doesn't matter the occasion, the place, the type of replacement or age of replacement, the bottled up love comes flooding through at the moment you see the newcomer and the missing the one you had, Jada, at the same time, leaving you weak and helpless to control the emotion that takes over and demands the flood of tears that controls you, whoever you are, to come non-stop for longer than you want them to. Congrats Dad on the newcomer who will absorb those tears and sorrows in a few minutes and replace them with his own innocent cute face and licks across the face till you sober up an start your examination and discover what you like which will be lots of things to make mental notes of. Jada is fully at peace and would be glad to see you smiling again when it finally comes and you give a name to the newcomer whose going to become as sweet as any could be in their own way and wear a place in your heart all their own. It will take a little time but it will happen, and Jada would be fine with that❤😢❤. And Thank You Rachael❤

IMHO a truly 'good woman' 'lets' her man pick out his own dog; nor does she show off by delivering it to his place of business so everyone can - as everyone has here - ooh and ah about what a wonderful wifey she is. Wow. There's a reason her husband hasn't gotten a replacement dog in 4 years and that should be respected. It all looks very self centered - she centered - to me. Smh.

me too, 4/2021 my old dog and even older cat 9/18/22, died 1.5 yrs apart. Dog was 18, cat was 20. My life has been in a full nosedive ever since.
So sorry for your losses. I lost a few cats myself one only 5 months ago. It's hard.

He lost his dog on his birthday... That had to have made celebrating his birthday hard. She changed that by getting him a new puppy on his birthday when he was ready to have another puppy. Making his birthday a happy time in his life again. 😊

Hard to lose an animal let alone many animals like me. I have had animals since moving into my own apartment in 1974. My last was in 2018 to be put down. My 💔 couldnt rescue or adopt as my babies lived beyond their expectations and unfortunately i had to make the humane decision to put them down. But i do have a shelf i made a memorial with them with their toys, collars and of course many pictures on wall above. I miss them but do feel they are with me in spirit❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

You never, truly, get over the loss of a pet. The hole in your heart may be smaller, but it's still there.

I feel you on that one I know exactly what you're talking about and it hurts so bad. I had to let my little Bailey boy go on to be with his big sister just 2 months ago . My other one passed away in my arms 7 years ago and I thought I'd never get over that. I haven't actually it still hurts. But Bailey had made it a little easier by being there for me. He knew when I was sad, even if i wasn't crying he would just know and come over to me and love on me. If I cried he would jump up on me and lick my tesrs away. Now I knew it was going to be devastating when he passed away, but I never thought it would hurt as much as it does. I mean, I'm still bresking down and sobbing every day. For anyone to say it's just a dog, is crazy. Just goes to show you they don't have a heart like ours (dog lovers)
They think we are crazy for loving an animal like that. I'll be the first one to say i love my dogs way more than I do most peoole.

We lost our cat Sam to cancer. There's a hole in our hearts. We adopted Gracie 12 yrs ago and she's been a blessing. We found out in November that she has a rear cancer.We r looking fir a source to help us with her treatments. She's comfortable for now. Shes eating and still sleeping with us. Please pray We can get help!!!

@danking8379 Unfortunately, it doesn't work that way for me. My Akita was a dear family member to me, and we went thru some tough times together. I had to put her down in 2015 due to nasal CA, and it still hurts. I can not get another dog at this time.

This person is saying they're crying at this video.....The only time I ever seen my father cry was when his mother had died in his arms after she had a heart attack in front of him & he gave her CPR. My Dad was a real masculine man who treated me like a princess ❤. He had to put down baby kittens once for me before because they'd gotten in the horse stall & spooked the horse who accidentally stomped them...he had to sh oot them. I cried - he did not. He had to put down a colt we had who's mother passed from giving birth , we tried everything, taking shifts in the barn to bottle feed,bought a nursing goat etc. Unfortunately the colt got pneumonia & had milk& fluid in its lungs & the vet said the colt couldn't make it& was suffering. He did not cry but he was very upset to have to do that. Point being this is ridiculous a grown man crying over getting a puppy. Smh. Testosterone levels have been dramatically declining for years now.
He did get a,wonderful birthday from his wife .

She’s been there for me and my son through the loss of my husband, my son’s father, the loss of both of parents and to celebrate the adoption of my grandson.
