- Meet Miriam, a 27-year-old window dresser with an expensive passion for fashion. She’s filling up her tiny room with impulse purchases until it’s overflowing. Along with countless jean, there are countless bags, including two from Fendy, bought in the same week. And she’s spent piles on dress after dress after dress. And, when it comes to bling, she’s got pot-loads. She feels untouched by her £36,000 debt.

For the people saying her clothes are bad, remember this was years back....Miriam was quite fashionable actually according to the style back then.
I think she looks really interesting, for any time.
NO I lived in London years ago those clothes were not in style.
Wrong - clothes were not that bad,she and a lot of the spendaholics simply had no taste
The average person doesn’t dress well even today. Twenty years from now, we will be saying the same about people today.
@sonaterese799 Miriam needs to sell the clothes she's not wearing. She could pay off her debt by selling everything she bought but doesn't use. She isn't in any position to tell Jay that she won't sell her bags or dresses. Naomi, you're $36,000 pounds in debt.
Before we judge all her possessions. This was filmed in late 2006 and released in 2007. It was a whole different world.
Aww, Miriam is a genuinely lovely, insightful person. She's the kind of woman who seems like a great friend. She's smart and enthusiastic.
If she is as "insightful" as you say, why is she so much in debt? Neither did she start to plan for the future and that can be seen when she is let off the lease and has time off from her jobs, she went haywire and reckless buy going on binges. There is no logic in your statement, her behaviour or reckless spending. Such an "insightful" person would not just giggle, etc., when confronted as she was and did.
Incidentally, in Japan, it takes up to seven years of apprenticeship to master the skill of making sushi. I never buy from any other place because I know I am not getting the genuine article. One lesson - that is an outright joke.

Yet dumb
Where is Miriam today?! What a joy this woman is, her laughter is contagious. I hope she has done well since this show and life has been fulfilling.
Debt aside, she has a ridiculously nice personality and understanding outlook to her predicament. Wonder how she’s doing now.
tbh yea
Your comment is the only positive comment. The world needs more nice people like you.

The book "30 Days to Stop Being a Shopaholic" by Harper Daniels is helpful.
Jay: "We can discuss budgets and talk about realistically adjusting your life"
Ben: "GIVE UP ON YOUR DREAMS"
She's been a retail store manager in London since 2018. I hope she's doing well during COVID times. She seems really bright and genuinely a good person. So glad she's moved on in life and this programme actually helped.
Thanks for the update! I wish they would do un update show.
She's extremely gorgeous❤
Wish they'd bring this show back, I remember watching it in the early 2000s. It was so good and would help a lot of people now
I really love this show!!! These episodes are like therapy to me . Thanks
Me too!
What a sweetheart. I hope she is more content with herself now ☺️💝
“I couldn’t get any wine today, and that was really difficult” girl I feeeeeeelt thaaaaaat 😭😩
I have shopped at thrift stores and garage sales for many years spending a fraction of the cost for name brand clothing plus I keep wearing my clothes over and over I own a small amount of clothing and did not go into debt shopping.
If I was her I would have sold the clothes I want to give away. Pay off some things with it
Yesss
Harper Kernen true. I don’t understand many folks got things storage just hanging and maybe that one item got so much value to get them a lot in return 🤑
@@darkbionic1044 You don't understand it because it's a disorder that only those of us who live with it can come to understand. I set my example for you. I went into debt for buying, among many other things, belts and wallets. And you know something? I don't wear belts or wallets.
It's all about the "pleasure" of buying, opening packages and then losing your illusion and wanting something else.
I'm still working on it. But we must not judge the habits of others when we do not know what is behind it.
@@r.m.2737 i do the same at times but something and never use it up to this day but yes is the emotional thrill
In my experience there is usually not much money to be gained from selling used clothes.
She's very attractive❤❤😍😘
No no no
Really are you Drunk
@@ms.artichokecheesepizzawst3239 she is very beautiful. What's you ideal beauty it's quite obvious it's not black
Onyx Moon Visuals Why did you bring race into this?
@King Pins , damn those ppl. I think shes very attractive.
I love how this show has taken so much time to help her get on the right track.. good luck Miriam 🥰
Miriam's clothes are nice. They're still in style today. I was recently at the shops. These clothes are timeless. Women are still wearing these tops that have a late 60s look. It's very popular in California. There's nothing wrong with Miriam's rented room. It's a nice sized room.
She’s lovely - a warm and funny personality.
She ought to have a thrift sale!!! You'd think she lost the ability to count. Someone ought to give her a spreadsheet to track her expenditures. Regarding the singing, why don't let her CHOOSE what she sings?
It was so nice of Benjamin to take Miriam to a recording studio 🎙 to record the song 🎵 she wrote. She has a CD 💿 of that song, thanks to Benjamin. That's pretty cool.
Miriam is so cute with her childlike excitement on the roller coaster. She should ride roller-coasters instead of shop. I have to give the psychological coach Benjamin a lot of credit for getting on a roller coaster 🎢 ride that initially terrified him.
I’m reading the comments and it’s ALL people arguing like are y’all ok?
She reminds me of Lauryn hill, gorgeous!
She looks more like Lady Leshur to me.
I’ve seen a number of these now, probably all from the early 2000s, the decade of pencil thin eyebrow victims. I would love a where are they now.
the show is from 2005
There's a small book titled "30 Days to Stop Being a Shopaholic" by Harper Daniels, that's popular. I recommend it.
GREAT VIDEO.... HOPE SHE DOES WELL.💛🙏
When you know where your money is then you can sleep....if you're out of control with spending then stop as of now and write down how to pay it off if you don't then eventually you are so out of your depth there is no way out. Sell everything you've bought and pay off the debt...debt is expensive.
I really like her I hope she's ok
£25 in London for a week is not a lot at all tbh. For me travelling is £40 a week
Bad Barbie this was from a decade ago
She has a very beautiful voice. She should be more confident.
Yeah she is great! Beautiful, Funny, need more people like her are needed in the world.
Dad don't give her any more money
I love this show! My concern with Miriam is the amount of sushi she is eating. I hope she doesn't catch a worm or two.
That jacket that Ben’s wearing is hideous! 🥳💣
The book "30 Days to Stop Being a Shopaholic" by Harper Daniels is helpful.
I wish I could have Jay and Ben sort out my life.
So glad Canadian lenders know my limit & force me to play within it.
They do in our country too now, but this was before the 2098 credit crunch. It was the same in Canada then. Watch Till Debt Do Us Part!
I don't think she can sing, hope she's doing alright wherever she is now tho.
Besides getting all those useless clothes-_- you can get your self a better house and with more space. Doesnt that make more sense
She's really pretty and smart too!
It's really annoying how this documentary is ruining my enjoyment of the commercials.
Miriam ❤
Well she's 40 now, I wonder how she got on?
Wow! Do you think she is still alive??? so many dumb comments...

If she’s happy oh well. At least she’s not a gambler 😆
Congrats to the narrator for butchering Orion's name! 🤦🏻♀🤨😂 *Edit - she has a good voice! 🥰
She works in a Store!!!😩
Tiny rented room? I guess they never saw one...😂
It's actually quite cute and cozy!
@@dariawells7438 But not tiny in terms of rented rooms, not by a longshot.
Ikr! It looks like it could be the master bedroom.
that is huge. i lived in closets in London, literally just enough space for a bed and wardrobe.
My ex rented rooms out that legit only fit a single bed in.
Off topic but Ben and her would make a cute couple 💑
Wait a minute she has a law degree and is working in retail? The math isn't mathing here......
This episode is online already. Why do you keep repeating episodes that are online already when there are several you haven’t shown?
i'm guessing those episodes were uploaded to a channel that isn't this one?
No they haven’t been.
helenweb --- can you send a link to where this same channel has uploaded this same video before?
Wow
The dissapointing thing is her clothes don't even look that good or fashonable. I mean c'mon if you're going to spend thousands on clothes atleast have a fit that looks good.
Not your money...
@@Michelle-pn9xt and? I wasn't trying to rude to her by making this cooment. You saying it's her money doesn't take away my ability of commenting on it.
@@randomuser3441 Your comment is not going to cause her to follow your fashion rules. It is still her money to use in any way that she wants.
Michelle like I said the comment isn’t meant to be taken seriously. And you bringing up the fact that it’s still her money, like I said already I can still comment on what she does with it doesn’t mean I can change anything, but I can still say something about it. Obviously she isn’t going to see this video it’s years old, so why should she care or I care?
Again her clothes and everything that she is baying looks so cheap on her unfortunately...
Hun kan blive en skøn jazzzsangerinde...iført flabede kjoler og bling🎉🎉🎉😮
Why do people who have shopping addictions always have the WORST taste?
There people are stupid they should buy on when they really need clothes ..
Your understanding and compassion are really impressive:/
Great personality and a beautiful lady but why over do the lippy
Tacky, entitled and irresponsible
jealous... The last time I checked people were allowed to spend their money on whatever they wanted.
Michelle if it’s credit she cannot pay back it’s stealing. Don’t get it twisted.
@@Starbuck7280 She did not steal anything. Stop being racist. Black people are actually allowed to purchase things. Your mind is twisted.
@@Michelle-pn9xt R Brow meant that if a person - no matter their color - uses credit cards even though they KNOW they can't pay it back, it's basically stealing from the credit company. It has NOTHING to do with race and applies to everyone on this show. Stop making everything about race and perpetuating division between people.
@@karayna9071 I am not the one making racist comments. This is one video. It is not everything. She did not steal anything. People use credit cards everyday, and nobody accuses them are stealing. Credit cards are accepted before other forms of payment. I guess you are stealing too! Telling them that she is not stealing is not creating any type of division anywhere,. Maybe, that is your goal.
ADHD maybe?
It's painful watching the "therapy" segments. What a quack! Telling the patient how to feel, how to think of themselves and their life, forcing his own narrative based on his initial hot take, even when the patient is telling him "No, that doesn't describe me or my situation at all"... Completely unhelpful.
Hmm. You make me think. In a way this may be why I do not really like my social-psychiatric nurse. I won't go into detail or give an example but you just helped me out the finger on it. I may use that thought one day when brave enough to tell him since I have told him before not to always still try to 'fix me' if I don't actively ask for that kind of talk. But it failed, as he is right back to it. Never thought it would be this when it is actually pretty simple and straightforward. Once again, thanks for this comment 💐
Uanset årti...hun brugte pengene dumt😮Hun må videre, finde nye værdier...håber det går hende godt idag😅
How much does she spend on wigs.
whatever she wants...her money..
All her money . She probably moved to lace front wigs now even more expensive
her laugh is very annoying. HALHAHLAHALHALHA!!!!!
I love it lol
3rd comment!!
She could have invested in a better wig!
I don't think better wigs existed back then 😂😂 early 2000s uno
+this looks more like a sew-in
It's a weave not a wig.
Always a judgment on hair. Smh
God tho her clothing choices are terrible. Like if youre gonna spend money at least buy something nice
This is from 2007ish so a totally different fashion era than now
Exactly what they said. This is from 2007 and back then this was considered high fashion. You probably weren't born yet I'm assuming by your immaturity, so you wouldn't have any idea. That's not your fault though.
AngelCore your comment is at least as immature.
@@missk7001
It's actually not in the slightest immature. I was being completely calm about it, and stating what I thought, but if you want to think that, you absolutely can. It should be common knowledge that if someone was born before 2007 they wouldn't have much idea what it was like to live back then. It would also mean they're a child and children are immature lol. Which is why I said that what they said was immature, and that it also wasn't their fault. Sorry if it came off as if I was being rude, I wasn't trying to.
Or she just thinks the clothes are awful . There were also much classier choices in 2007. She has an urban style . Not everyone’s cup of tea
What's the main difference between african brits and african yankees aside from their accents?
What? Im asking
Why are you even asking
@King Pins it is😂
There isn't a difference. And we aren't freaking Yankees. It's also not a term used for black Americans at all. It's African American, black people, or nothing. Yankee was meant for the Brits coming to America or a derogatory for Americans and stolen from Indian culture to call new settlers of the US cowards. No one's a Yankee anymore. My point being. Your question is stupid and has no answer😌
I would say African Americans tend to look at white people as the enemy.
@@saraherget5089 idk who deleted my comment but I said WITH HOW WHITE PEOPLE HAVE AND ARE CONTINUING TO TREAT THEM CAN YOU BLAME THEM.
