    The reverse is even more funny: summarize macbeth in the format of a recipe

    • @AtomicShrimp
      @AtomicShrimp  2 роки тому +163

      Ingredients:
      1 ambitious Scottish nobleman, Macbeth
      1 influential wife, Lady Macbeth
      3 witches who make predictions and stir up trouble
      A hearty dose of guilt and paranoia
      A pinch of betrayal and bloodshed
      A heaping teaspoon of supernatural elements (ghosts, visions, etc.)
      Murder, to taste
      Instructions:
      In a large castle, combine Macbeth and Lady Macbeth. Mix in the witches' predictions, stirring well before adding the murder.
      Slowly add in guilt and paranoia until evenly distributed.
      Add a pinch of betrayal and bloodshed, making sure it's evenly mixed throughout the story.
      Fold in the supernatural elements carefully.
      Place the mixture outside of the castle for approximately 2 hours or 'till Birnam Wood do come to Dunsinane.
      Serve and enjoy the tragic tale of Macbeth.

    It amazes me how you did not give up as fast as Ann Reardon did on her try at AI-generated recipes!

    • @rolfs2165
      @rolfs2165 2 роки тому +2

      The other big flaw is that most AI these days is "trained" by just throwing stuff you scraped from the web at it. Which works about as well as if you tried to raise your kids that way.

    • @rkvkydqf
      @rkvkydqf 2 роки тому +1

      @@rolfs2165 Yep. But unlike your kids, a text transformer does not learn a thing from all that corpus, since the words still are just arbitrary numbers to it, not actual concepts with reasonable mental models. Ann Reardon was using a much less sophisticated AI, and was making a video with a different style of humour based on that lack of sophistication. I enjoyed her video.

      @@inventiveusername5191 I liked her video too, but she wasn't giving the AI a 'fair' chance. she just did it for the joke, but Shrimp I think has a better understanding of how to work around the shortcomings of the AI and which promps to give it to get an answer he could actually work with.
      He did it for the joke too, but he also made it work in the end (with some help)

    The collaborations I have thus far seen between creators and ChatGPT have been more and more impressive. Technology has been changing how art is made and experienced since forever. The curve has apparently hit an inflection point once again, and we are about to see an explosion of creativity. Consider the learning of an instrument. At first, you struggle to make sounds that do not drive people from the room, then you master simple melodies and rhythms. Later you are improvising at various levels. Each ability is based on the foundation of confidence in earlier, simpler achievements. Each new level is filled with ever more doors into which unexplored avenues for creativity are laid out, each with more levels and more doors. ChatGPT is indeed such a door, and behind it lie undiscovered avenues for artists, and creators of all kinds, with humanity reaping the benefits. I guess I am all for it.

    That first lyric recipe was maybe a German or Austrian sponge cake. These don't contain fat and I can tell you they perfectly work, as long as you don't use any fat at all. Just separate 3 eggs. Beat separately the whites until stable and the yolks with 125 g sugar and a splash of water, then carefully fold in the egg white and a 75g flour - 50g starch mix. Pour in a paper lined mould - no fat here either - it would ruin the cake and stop it from rising. Bake for 10-15 min in a preheated oven.

    This is brilliant. And I think AS is being a little harsh on the Chatbot's attempt at verse. I'm with Clarkson that Shakespeare is lost on school children at the time - but I think we benefit from at least having some knowledge.
    The obvious basis for this recipe is the 'witches brew' from Macbeth. I've always remembered this as 'hubble, bubble, toil and trouble', and Googling this, it seems many others have done the same. Apparently the actual words are: "Double, double toil and trouble; Fire burn and cauldron bubble".
    That upstart crow didn't consider how we'd mis-remember his words.

    An example of what you would ask is:
    Please give me a recipe which uses all, but only the following ingredients, allow for seasoning.
    Carrots, rice, eggs, cauliflower, chicken and satsuma.
    This is just an example so you could go pretty wild with it. I would love to see you test some of its creations.

    I could listen to you read in iambic pentameter for-freakin'-ever.
    (How about a Slaughter Valley PSA short in verse, Sir Shrimp?)

    Reminds me of Linus' video where he built a PC using ChatGPT. This is so great. Would love to see more content using ChatGPT as a creative tool.

    Even with an AI recipe by Cakespeare, "a smeared face", I prefer watching Mr. Shrimp baking, as I fix lunch.

    Funny that the AI took the extra effort to rhyme instead of using blank verse, probably it only read the first scene of Macbeth.

    I actually learned about iambic pentameters (and the related) in uni just a few months ago, so you gave me war flashbacks!

    Damn, now I try to read all comments in iambic pentameter style of William Shakespear's "Macbeth".

    I recently tried having it translate my botanical field notes into iambic pentameter. Happy to have thought of a similar idea as the shrimp.
