When I first heard The Civil Wars (the duo), it had been years since they had separated. I felt really bad, not for the end of it, but for knowing that I would never get the chance to watch such a unique talent like them live. Then came Aurora and I really feel lucky to be able to follow every step of her wonderful artistic evolution. I've already attended a show with my four-year-old daughter, I hope there will be many more!

I love the message of this song so much. Yesterday I had someone practically almost become angry at me for suggesting I’d start drinking soy milk from now on for a more animal-friendly option. (I’m already a vegetarian) But that person was like: “You need to stop being silly thinking you can save the world with drinking a different kind of milk. It won’t change anything. Vegans are just sensitive, it doesn’t actually make a difference.” No, if we all have that mindset, we will ruin the world. Yes, one person changing his dietary options won’t save the world, but it does make a difference. We just need enough people, but if everyone has at least some sort of determination we can save Mother Earth.

He'd take ham or turkey or whatever meat he was eating and rub it in my face. He thought it was hilarious to watch me cry. I love hearing acoustic versions of Aurora's songs. I can be unsure of a song when I hear the produced CD versions, but then you hear the acoustic version and you get to hear the song for what it is and it gives you a chance to really understand the song and its elements. I liked this song on CD but was unsure. But I am in love after hearing its raw form. It is almost like you can hear the process of the song being written and I love that about Aurora's acoustics. I wanted to go to this so badly, but I would have had to buy another CD to get a ticket :(
It's even better live.
