I have a Ford escape titanium 2.0L 2wd in blue and it's the best car I have ever owned.
recently got the Ford Escape trend as a 2.0L AWD diesel and is honestly one of the best cars i've ever owned
I had a 2016 Ford Kuga Trend AWD (TKII 2.0L Petrol Turbo), it was the best car I've ever owned, unfortunately I had an unfortunate turn of events and she got written off 😢. However, today my dad spoiled me by buying me a 2018 Ford Escape (ZG AWD 2.0L Petrol Turbo), I test drove it today and it felt exactly like my old Kugsie.
I love this series!
Josh _ , Thanks! More to come! Cheers, Mal Flynn
In the U.S. these have always been called Escapes. Think I like the Kuga name better. Escape sounds like you're trying to make a getaway after robbing a bank. In 2017, the U.S. Escape's middle console was re-designed with an electronic parking brake, and the gear shift lever was moved forward, and the lower part of the console is flat and doesn't slope upwards like the one you show here. The result was a bit more cubbyholes and storage space.
I’m pretty sure you didn’t have any of that in the back, 1 the suspension didn’t move, 2 I could see the drivers side tail light the whole time
Is there a way to route the engine block heater cord out through the grill for easy access? I just bought a 2019 Titanium and the block heater cord is under the hood on the driver side. I don’t like the idea of plugging in the block heater with the hood not sealed shut to allow an extension cord to be run into the engine bay. I don’t know if I can close the hood shut onto the cord.
Awesome 😊 please tell me you did a video of the tow test?
meownmazda1, I'm afraid we were a bit pressed for time to shoot the tow test, but there's a lot more detail on this adventure in my written piece. Cheers, Mal Flynn

CarsGuide thanks mate 👍
meownmazda1, No worries. Any other questions, fire them my way. Cheers, Mal Flynn
It's about time these car manufacturers removed that tacky crap grey plastic around the wheel arches and side skirts... it fades and colours and looks shite after a few years!
Callum Balodis, Fair point, but they use it to give the car a degree of scratch resistance, rather than painted plastic. Also handy if you drive on dirt roads. The occasional squirt of plastic protectant will keep it looking new too. Cheers, Mal Flynn
You can set the car to lock the doors when driving
Luke Hall How?
Omar Almaghrabi watch a UA-cam video you program it
Luke Hall I tried the 3 unlock then unlock button procedure doesn't work. This car doesn't even chirp when you lock it with a remote! Typical gutted Australian specs.
Omar Almaghrabi just look at the mirrors to see if it’s locked, my falcon had a drive away with locking so that’s really weird if the Escape doesn’t.
Luke Hall I will try again and report back.
Captiva has flat folding seats.
Don’t like the car......., but the kid are cute :)
