    I grow nothing but Zinnias love them. Super easy to grow and they are stunning when it bloomed. They're fully bloomed in my backyard as I'm speaking. I sowed them in March seeds I saved from pervious year here in Phx, Az. Some people pre planted them no need to do that. Zinnia grow anywhere as long as it's warm outside it will grow. They heat tolerant flowers even 120 F no problem.

    I’m very excited to see how this looks! Both my Thomas Edisons didn’t sprout. I was so disappointed! I was desperate to try & salvage them as it’s my first year gardening & I was looking forward to them the most. I watered them every few days & they finally sprouted! 3-4 wks behind my other decorative dahlias.

    I love grow bags! I have 5 20 gallon grow bags that are “natural colored” .. I never considered what the soil would do to the bags 😂 they are perfectly usable.. and have now found a spot in my yard where potatoes can grow in them, but I dont have to look at the dirty bags. I have a few that are a lime green.. that sun faded. Id love to add colorful bags, but Im not loving how they hold up appearance wise! Can’t wait to see you dahlias and zinnias!!

    It's going to be so beautiful. 😍 I can't wait to see how the zinnias and dahlias look together. Do you ever move your dahlias out of the sun when they are wilting (from the heat/sun)? The two I have are growing but do not like that hot sun for long and start to wilt. Not sure if I should leave them in the sun or continue to move them daily LOL

    • @ChicagoGardener
      @ChicagoGardener  7 місяців тому +1

      Not on this deck bc it’s the morning sun so not as hot, but I do that on the front deck with the hot afternoon sun! I usually just have to do it when they’re smaller and they eventually get used to the heat but it could be different depending on where you are!

    • @ChicagoGardener

    How did your overwintered dahlias do? I killed all mine again (it must have gotten too cold in the garage). The basement is too warm...my sister-in-law's basement is too far for me to check on them...and the garage is too cold!! So annoying. This year I have more than any sane person could possibly want...hopefully I can save some of them...I have an extra little bar fridge, so I may try that...
