So for eye shadows, you can actually spray them with rubbing alchohol and it actually doesn't change the composition of the powder at all. You just wait for it to dry and BOOM sanitized 🤗
@@florasarkisian2876 from what I know, from more advanced makeup artists, 70 is better bc it takes longer to dry and in that process, it will kill more bacteria
If I were a client I wouldn't mind what products are used I just want to look good! I agree with what you said. The client is paying for your time and skill, not what brand of products you use.
Hey I went to school for makeup artistry and my program was six months / self paced . It depends on faced you passed the course exams and did you hands on training. you go over a hygiene course to learn how to sanitize brushes, pallets and the expiration date of foundation and concealer. you can sanitize eye shadow pallets, with 100% or 90% alcohol. I have a spray bottle mist your shadow let it dry take a cotton round and wipe that layer off . I hope this helps 💜
Can you make a video on how to color match foundations? Maybe have someone with light, medium AND deep skin tones 😬 so we can see step by step. Please & thank you 😁😁
Thank you so much for making this video ❤️ I've really been struggling lately financially while going to school and always have my family and even strangers ask if I do makeup or that I should do it. I'm scared honestly of doing a horrible job on other skin tones and texture but I recently did my boyfriend's mom's makeup and she loved it 😅 now I'm really thinking I should practice on a few more people and just take the plunge and do it to help me out 🤑 I just really need some help starting out and this is it. Hopefully it works out and I can actually do something I love while becoming financially independent.

You can start by saving up for buying things for your kit one by one(put a max budget each months from your saved up money from your pocket money/allowance) , starting with some tools. The last one is products that did not last longer or liquid and cream products. You can learn from watching some videos first and do makeup for your friends' to practice on. Do not forget to take pictures to see any progress and well, you can ask aroubd some insights from your friends' how does it look and what you can improve from it. When you get the basic knowledge on makeup application, you can start looking for makeup schools that also provide financial aid or financial loan. Start researching by now so you will know what you want to do after. I recommend these youtubers who also PRO MUA, and not "beauty influencers" : Angie Di Battista (who you will learn about what to do to be a pro MUA), Monica Blunder, Robert Welsh, Wayne Goss, Lisa Eldridge, Mathias4makeup, HarryDoesMakeup, etc.
I am so glad that someone actually use LA pigments for foundation tips! 😍 I saw a lot of MUAs carry a lot of bottles of foundations and seeing them went through a lot of problems with how they organize their things and how they struggle with it is insane. I keep my liquids in 4 shade ranges in muji bottles, well depoted. I also keep one foundation pallete, MUFE Flash Pallete, and LA pigments in those same four shades as well .... and that's all🤣 Thank you for teaching us the tips! Hopefully more MUA will carry the tips well because we all know how heavy our kit is 😅
can you please make a video on must haves or products you recommend for building your makeup kit?? i’ve recently started working with someone else doing makeup but i have just been using her products, but i would really love to start building up my own kit

I'm looking forward to start soon especially for this upcoming prom season 2020. Thank you so much for words and advice. Blessings :)
I’m very surprised you charge just $75. I had my wedding last September and the most affordable I could find was 185 dlls, plus 25 dlls for a travel fee. Most makeup artists start at 250 here in Dallas. I also had makeup done for a boudoir session and my engagement pictures. The best was the boudoir session makeup. I guess how much you charge depends on your market and target audience. Thank you for the tips ❤

Nice video and advice. Are your clients bridal or prom girls? . In nyc makeup artists charge a lot more... years ago when i needed one for my wedding, ..they want minimum $300-500 ( just bridal makeup), but for that they do both makeup AND hair, which they finish in two to three hours. A lot also tend to want you to have a whole entourage of bridesmaids, ensuring they have at least 3, 4 or 5 girls before they even want to come onsite to your house or hotel... I guess pricing varies state to state?
NYC does charge a lot more, I charge 175 for the trail if it’s a bridal party it will be 200 for the bride and 150 for each bridesmaid. It all depends, out of my MUA friends I’m the cheapest they charge 200 & up and are fully booked everyday. So again I think it depends on the area
Thanks for all the tips. But, girl. You have to sanitize everything, including powders. Spraying 70% isopropyl alcohol on your pallets keeps everything safe, without damaging your products.
keep in mind that you don't have to be licensed to do make up, however, it is illegal for someone who is not a licensed esthetician to touch the face with your bare hands. Implements and brushes must be used at all times.

I think it depends where you live, I’m from nyc the cheapest out here will probably be 85. I’m a pro makeup artist for the last 5 years and I charge 150 if it’s at my home. To go to a clients home it’s 200. Most of my friends that do makeup charge 200 and up.
