Thumbs up if you enjoyed the video! Stay tuned for more, love you all!
My issue when doing others' makeup is usually the eye part. Everybody has a different eye shape and it's really difficult getting into the crease, blending out the shades, doing a cut crease and also eyeliner.
Ayesha Tabassum SAME
I can barely do eyeliner on my own eyes
Yea then if they have tucked in lids is like hard asf and I get frustrated and nervous
Yes girl I feel ya, I’m so used to do on myself and I know how my eyes are and everything but with others is hard. Unless their eyelid is very visible and not hooded at all.
people are saying you talk too much but this was so informative i loved it!!
Thank you so much! That’s what I was aiming for not to just be like every voice over. But people always have to judge somethinggg🤷🏻♀️
And hey she's not doing a million jump cuts which is awesome. First video i've watched of hers, she seems great K'm subscribing
The most important q is not skin type....it's "do you have any allergies?" Latex, fruits, vitamin c, avocados, vitamin e are all ones I have come across in my 9 years in the industry.
Kate Thompson yes! I have a latex allergy myself and I always ask my client's before using anything because even certain beauty sponges break me out from the latex.
i think if it's about allergies, people always say it before they asked
As a professional you should be able to identify your clients skin type
Kate Thompson my best friend is very allergic to aloe- a big pain in the ass whenever I want to do her makeup 💕
@@paigebricexo how would you do that though? I personally wouldn't find it unprofessional if someone asked me my skin type but if you have any advice on how to identify a clients skin type I'd love to know !! ❤
This is random but I liked how you grabbed/lifted her lid to apply mascara. I have the hardest time getting to the root of clients lashes, but I never lift the lid like that. I’m going to try that next time! Thanks!
I'm so glad I found this video because I want to have my own salon to do makeup and I still trying to figure how to work out all of it. I'm 15 so I still have time but I want to learn as quick as possible. This video is great.
Naomi Chase so glad you like it and that it helped you out!
How'd it go
I’m the ‘makeup friend’ in my group haha. There’s a group of like 8 of us and every time there’s an event or something it’s alway ‘Georgia can you do my makeup please mate’ 😂
Eibhlín Murphy omg SAME
SAME😂
Omg sameee I love doing makeup on my friends!
Eibhlín Murphy sameee I have to do a girls makeup tonight and I’m nervous!
I’m a self taught makeup artist and the makeup one in the group and all my friends always want me to do their makeup. It’s a great experience
Hey lovely, just came from your last video, so good to hear you listened to the feedback on hygiene. When using the MAC concealer palette you should be decanting with a spatula and palette, not dipping straight in, cream products carry bacteria and you can't clean it. Another great question to ask is if they have any allergies or sensitivities with products on their face. This is a gorgeous look x
Thank you so much I appreciate your support and feedback! I actually disinfect my cream contours before and after each client. I don't use that palette very often for my clients but when I do, I clean it. But now I used a spatula it's a lot faster!
Sophia Perez how to disinfect? Do you spray it with alcohol ?
No you actually can disinfect creams. There is a spray called "BeautySoClean". look it up
@@melissalanderos2710 no you can't.
@@iamthelacquerrandy yes you can. like I said before, look it up
Before moisturizer I ALWAYS go over my client's face with a little micellar water. So many clients come in with some makeup on their face. It is so important to start with a clean slate. Also, a high quality micellar water adds extra moisture to the skin. Hope this was helpful. 😁😘❤🌹
I hope u can reply to my question. After u put the micellar water, do u wipe it off with water or let it be and put primer straight?
@@ibtisamal-jahsyi242 I also use micellar water beforehand, and you can leave it as is, makeup sits perfectly on top of it. :)
Ibtisam Al-jahsyi better if you wipe it off. I let it be for my friend and cousin and their faces feel itchy the whole day!
@@bardilaura oh alright
@@SoPilates95 Thank u for your advice, I think it's definitely based on people's choice
Have my first client Saturday for prom and I’m so nervousss
Kathy Enriquez I hope it went welll xxxxx
How did it go?!!
Did it go well? I'm always nervous to do other people's makeup.
Hey! How did it go? All the best for all of your future endeavors 😌
This was a year ago but I’m holding everything went great ❤️❤️❤️
Wow your video was extremely helpful and I loved your tips .. could you please do a video on how to do makeup on multiple clients for a wedding or party. I'm always confused do MUAS clean up their brushes and sponges between clients, specially when there's a time crunch. Thanks !
They typically "spot clean". Meaning they have a little bottle of ispropyl alcohol and spray the brushes in between clients to sanitize them temporarily. Then when they get home, they really clean everything.
+Tracy Warman and they usually clean the beauty blenders with soap and water. They need the bb damp anyways...
it depends on how much time you have, i usually start early in the morning & if I have 5 client's I spend 30 minutes on each bridesmaid & 45 on the bride and I'll just bring 3/4 Set's of brushes along with my colorswitch. if I need to I will spot clean with cinema secrets or alcohol in between clients but remember it will take a few minutes to dry and can really slow you down.
Hey girl, love this video btw , i noticed when you applied the mascara with the disposable mascara wand you used one for both eyes. Always remember to use two ( one for each eye). This stops cross contamination ( when bacteria transfers from one place to another). Also if your going to go into palettes with the makeup brush and apply it to the skin, remember at the end of the treatment to spray the pallets you've used with something that will kill the bacteria. For example an ant bacterial cleaning spray, this also prevents any cross contamination and infections. Hope this helped xxx
I think you are a great artist! I did make-up for over 20 years, and getting that good, positive conversation started is so important, & creating a real relationship keeps clients coming back. :) You really did a gorgeous job on the model. If you are new or shy, just ask the client about herself, and things will flow. I love that you talked about cleaning your hands...I always tried to wash my hands in front of clients, if I could, and always, always use disposable lip and mascara wands. My eye doctor shocked me recently when she told me about 1 in 4 of all people not only have herpes, but have it in their eyes, too (it's very common, and nothing to be ashamed of, but keep your brushes both clean & disinfected! I've seen many great makeup artists...especially in store, where so many people use the testers, that were very lazy with cleaning). It's so I important. I also recommend taking a photo of every great look you do, for your book, so you have something a client can look through...it's old school, but models, and makeup artists still have books. It's still a great way to show to your talent...and you have it! Best of luck, and great job!
Thank you so much for your feedback I really appreciate it!
I think you did an amazing job. Screw that person that said you aren't skilled or experienced enough to be making tutorials. Honestly, more than half of these "gurus" on youtube teaching people how to do makeup have never even worked on clients before. They call themselves gurus, all they can do is recommend the viewers good products but majority of them only work on their own faces. And I think a LOT of what you did here can help new (and experienced) makeup artists find new tips and tricks. I LOVE watching other people work on clients and I'm always finding new and interesting ways to improve my techniques, just from watching other artists work..How you lifted up the eyelids while doing the clients mascara is a great example. That is something that took me a couple years to catch onto before I started using it during application and it made a huge difference.
Yes I've read all of Kevyn Aucoin's books and studied makeup artistry in beauty school but that doesn't make me better than anyone?? It's all in the physical practice and examination of others. Anyways, I totally enjoyed this tutorial and just wanted to tell you to keep up the great work!
tabby moreira wow this literally made my day THANK YOU! This video is pretty old and I have come a long way since this video but your comment really made me appreciate what I do. I am so glad I can pass down knowledge to others❤️
At 2 seconds my thoughts were "omg who is this make up artist, her make up is stunning and all those colors match perfect together." PLS do a full make up tutorial of it 😍
Ahri Arcade you are SO SWEET! ❤️❤️❤️
I love how your voice is so soothing
Rachel Merrill-Hoosick thank you I was actually loosing my voice so I sounded super raspy 😭
Very helpful video! Other things i like to do is clean their skin with toners bc if they smoked on the way to the appointment or they sweated or their skin is very oily theres always a layer that i prefer removing so that the make up sits on a clean base. Also something to ask is allergies and preferences on finishes, some people have dry skin and still will prefer to be matte. And some people think have a skin type that they dont really have so you should kinda be able to tell by looking at their skin and give them advise if they dont know!
Loved this!!😻 Your model looks gorgeous you really enhanced her natural beauty!!😻 Thanks for showing us the difference between putting make up on a close friend or relative and on a client!!😘
beautiful makeup ! And yes keeping conversation and making your client feel comfortable is very important. You hit all the hygiene MUSTS! Make sure you also ask if they have any skin conditions/allergies ( latex )
BUT
one tip as an mua , do not push the clients face. It's not very professional to be handling someones face like that.
Simply ask " can you move your head to the side " and use a hand signal of which way you would like them to face.
Absolutely beautiful and so natural. Love, love, love it! 💛💛💛
Best moisturizer for all clients is Embryolisse. It's extremely hydrating, non-irritating, can we used as a mask/remover. I have used it on every client/actor/model and have never ever had anyone react badly to it, even the women who say their skin is "super sensitive"
My first wedding coming up and you’ve giving me so much confidence with this video ❤️❤️
Your video was really helpful!! I’d love to see you do makeup on someone with troubled skin though, to teach us what extra measures we have to take!
I think you did an excellent job...it’s modern...natural but glam....that is what most people want these days.
Omg I can hear your voice singing. I love how raspy it is. So random lol but I thought I'd appreciate that.
Shisiz my voice is also raspy
When you’re using a beauty blender with a client, how do you make sure it’s properly sanitized and clean every time ? Since it’s a sponge it typically holds onto a lot more bacteria than a brush, and a lot harder to
I figure using a different sponge on every client would be a little ridiculous lol
You can clean it with alcohol, i think it's a good idea
Wash it with an unscented soap or soak in hot water with beauty sponge wash
Use the sponges that are just for one use. Even if you cleane the beauty blender is going to have dirt and bacteria.
I'm not a makeup artist but I'm watching this for my mom lol
I’m a couple years late but this turned out soo good! 🥺❤️
I just came across your channel and I am so happy I did!! I’m currently an esthetician student and this was super helpful with my makeup application section!! Thank you!
You can use the other end of your huge brushes but wipe it first with an alcohol sanitizer and dip it into the foundation from your metal (tray? I forgot what do you call it) and use it to dot the foundation on your client's face. Some clients really find it unsanitary when you personally touch their face. This is just a suggestion tho. I love your video it also helped me a lot
That's smart! Thank you
Love, love, love this makeup look 💖💖💖💖
You guys are both so gorgeous!!!
Great video! I just started in a new job and I found this super helpful! You’re very professional but also laid-back and natural, subbed ❤️
this is my 5th time watching this video, I love client tutorials! I’m 14 trying to start a makeup business & this is really helpful!
This is so helpful, I am just starting out with freelance! sooo thanks for this 😂❤️
I started my makeup artistry journey today and thank you so much for this video!!!
Allie Soon so happy for you! I wish you the best and I’m glad I was able to help❤️
It is my first make up video and it is the best, great room lighting
Amazing video and tips! Another tip I'd recommend is popping in a mint before beginning the makeup (not gum because you don't want to be smacking the gum or accidentally spitting in their face) that way while you're making conversation you don't smell like your food!
She looks sooooo beautiful
Such a helpful vedio!!! Especially the tips on what to ask your client!!thank you, you are amazing!
This is so beautiful, so natural so simple but also very glam 😍
you both are incredibly beautiful! i'm glad i found u and your channel!
the final makeup look was so pretty i loved it
an hour of silence is an hour of torture, true fact :)) thank you for posting this vlog, Sophia :)
A few things missing is cleaning the clients face before moisturizing and asking about allergies. Also talking about safety and cleaning all brushes after every client.
What do you suggest for your clients that have bad skin? Dryness, facial hair, redness, etc
I loved this video! I will definitely be using some of these tips on clients!
Gorgeous makeup. Gorgeous model
I love how natural and glowy this look is. What bronzer would you recommend for dark skin tones?
Tracey Kadondo the ABH contour powders the new ones that just came out the shade “ Mahogany” is great
Sophia Perez awesome. Thank.you so much for replying and the recommendation. I will check it out now xxx
The air spun powder is the powder that created “flashback Mary” lol
Good job ! She's stunning omg !
Thank you for the video. I am a up and coming MUA, almost done with my school and this is very helpful to me and I've only seen about 12 mins...😅😅😁
This video is great and informative! I'm somewhat starting out with my UA-cam page and will have people ask me to do their makeup. Everyone has to start start somewhere. So your video definitely gave helpful, advice, tips, and pretty look.
loved that video i wish if everyone does that kind of videos , but there is an important question like what to do when clients start to criticize or look like oh that is too harsh ( even though it's not and etc..) how to deal with it , i would appreciate if you did of how to deal with these akward situations ❤️
First time watching you and i absolutely loved this video! I want to start doing make up on other people and this is a VERY INFORMATIVE video! The look came out beautiful!
love this!!! weird but both of you guys such amazing skin!!
So good to see you making videos again. Been a subscriber for years!
Thank you so much for your endless support!
This was perfect! Thank you 😊
Ha that’s crazy, I used the same palette for Bronx fashion week today. 🤩🤩
This video really did help! I practiced on my friend who has a deeper skin tone that me and she taught me/ gave me some good pointers for darker skinned people. My question is what do you do to get your skills out there? I'm 17 and want to possibly make this a career or at least a side hobby but also get a little extra money. What do you recommend to get yourself known to people and get clients?
Where can I purchase disposables? Thank you for the lovely advice the finished results was gorgeous too 😍
The Hills Have Eyes Amazon has the best deals on them. Also check your local Sallys beauty or beauty stores.
Lovely MakeUp! So nicely explained!😍
How do you guys clean your beauty blenders? Or do you use new ones on each client?😬
She’s so pretty
This was so helpful girly I’m starting to be a makeup artist !!
Obsessed with this look! Can't wait to recreate it!!
Hi! Loved this tutorial! Sorry to bother but I loved your lipstick color!!! Can you share which color is it?
love the makeup look , she is so pretty
How do you prevent the eye make-up from coming off or getting patchy when you put your thumb there to apply mascara?
So pretty model and well done!
I have two legitimate sanitation questions:
1:How do you prevent contamination of makeup when you double dip in powders? Is it better to scoop some out with a spatula? The powders you used (highlight and eye shadows) and dipped your brush in more than once isn't that considered contaminated?
2: how would you apply liquid eye liners without contaminating the liner brush? is it better to use a gel or a pencil that you can shave off the contaminated part?
Use 70% first aid alcohol and mist it from a distance. It dries pretty fast. Just leave it open until it is dry. I use a travel size misting bottle. Thats what they taught me in my makeup class. You can also scoop some of it out. I recomend that more for creams and lipsticks.
Hi! Lovely and very helpfull video, i just wanted to remind you about asking them about their allergies!
Cc has the most stunning eyes.
You work so hard and it shows! I've been following you for years and I'm so happy you're succeeding. Just a question, I googled chi by colour pop and the bottle and colour look a lot different. Is the colour you used on her called chi? I really love the color haha.
Hey! It should be, Im not going to lie colourpop lippies tend to look a little different in person then they do online. But they are amazing!!
Sophia Perez thanks for replying, I'll definitely purchase it then because I love the colour.
A great video, very informative.. for me as this may be a career I may want to pursue that started off as a hobby. I love makeup.
Thankyou so much.
🇬🇧
i keep coming back to this video because it’s so educational! i just wanted to ask what brush are you using at 5:21?
im no makeup artist but whenever theres a special occasion my female family members want me to do their makeup because im decent at doing it on myself but i'm always hesitant about doing it on others as i just do not have enough practice and whenever i do it's always the mascara, eyeliner and lashes that i always struggle with.
Yeeeeeeeess, you killed this look! 😍
That is gorgeous! ❤️
I don't have any UA-cam video...I just love love your video💖
This is so cool that you did this it really helps us beginners
Your voice is very calming
love this video !!
Love this look simple yet beautiful 😍🤗
Araceli Alvarez thanks love ❤️
Please do an updated one
Thanks sophie. New subbie and found this so resourceful. So helpful mwah
Amazing job and beautiful client
Great job ❤
I love this video, its very informative! I do have a question though. I noticed that you are very careful not to touch the clients skin with a brush and then dip the brush back into the product, but you didn't do that with the blush or bronzer. Is there a reason for this?
You hit all the points 🙏🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
im soo love this make up,,,
So beautiful and well presented ❤️
And always wash your hands before and throughout!!!
that looks so good
Sophia I loveee the video😄😄 do some more like this🤗 kisses from ARGENTINA
This is a gorgeous look!!
Hi Sophia, this video was awesome. Thanks for explaining in detail! I would love to start doing this for proms but afraid of eyeshadow colors. I’m really good with just doing a Smokey eyeshadow on myself but not different mixing colors (color on top of color) like you showed here. Also how do you wash/clean your makeup supplies/brushes for the next client? What if you have another client lined up and have no clean makeup brushes etc...? And also matching makeup on clients? Thanks so much.
Gorgeous!!!!!
Very helpful tips 💁🏻 thank you 😊
Love the look! she is gorgeous!:)
hi... new subs here... just wanted to say that this video and the way you present it is great! love it... and thanks for making this video 😄💕
