As a health content creator, I appreciate the insights shared by Aubrey de Grey in this video. His emphasis on the integration of AI in longevity research is particularly timely, given the rapid advancements in technology and our understanding of aging.
It's fascinating to see how AI can enhance our ability to analyze complex biological data, potentially leading to breakthroughs in anti-aging interventions. The experiments at the Lev Foundation, especially those measuring health span alongside lifespan, are crucial for understanding not just how long we live, but how well we live.
Moreover, addressing myths surrounding AI's role in this field is essential for public understanding and support. As we continue to explore the potential of AI in healthcare, it's vital to remain critical and informed about its applications and limitations.
I look forward to seeing how this research evolves and contributes to our understanding of aging. Thank you, VitaDAO, for bringing such important discussions to the forefront!

Think of the advancements that could be made by Aubrey in this space for the price of 1 fighter jet.

Yep, its absolutely disgusting and almost devilish that they cant invest a tiny fraction of the military budged for this. Its so damn crazy if you think about it.

The resources will flow if he can make the case that they should.

The use of ai in the context of anti aging will most likely yield results most people either would not follow or like. For example ai says your diet sucks, eat only this xyz combination. People say but it tastes nasty and does not taste like a big mac or a whopper. Thats the end of anti aging. Talking about it and actually doing it in reality may be 2 very different things. You would not believe how many of these anti aging people i have seen eating pizza and mcdonalds type foods all the while preaching dont eat this or that. Its kinda like how doctors back in the day would smoke tobacco. I do believe many of the keys to a longer more functional life is already here, but people just will not follow it, or if they do its to an extent they achieve mixed results. You cannot try to follow a healthy life style then go drinking, smoking and gobbling up fast food on precieved days off.

A healthy lifestyle wont prolong your life by that long. This guy is trying to get us to 500, 1000 years and more. Talking about certain diets in this context is almost useless. We need to get deep into the genes and molecules. This is a thing of technology, not nutrition.

    What AI is discussed?

nah what will happen is ai will solve math which will help us solve phsyics which will help us make like quantum computers or something that will help us simulate biochemistry and cure disease

No need to do that in such a round about way.
Current ai is already being used to simulate and predict different proteins, compounds and materials. The Ai program called Alphafold is a great example of that. It can predict protein shapes, folding sequences and interactions better then anything that came before that, and by a extremely wide margin on top of that. It really is only a matter of time until a similar Ai like this can test the effect of any drug and compound on a simulated cell with adequate accuracy.

I like the Good Doctor Aubrey, but if he thinks anyone needs incentive to use AI in the pursuit of life extension, he's lost his marbles. It's inevitable.

@@danielmaster911ify I don't appreciate it when people try to tell me what I can and cannot say. Also, it's pretty bold to assume that everyone wants to live for eons in your technological utopia (dystopia to some). This may be a novel concept to you, but not everyone shares your opinions.

These mice really are not living that long. If we are getting a serious additive effect, at least 10% should live over 1,400 days. In the future, it would be nice if they were fed quality food. Food low in Advanced Glycation End-products (low glycotoxin diet) helps them live longer. Your average life extension biohacker is trying to eat well, regardless of what else they do. Also, mice are nocturnal, maybe fooling them with lights makes sense. That way it is night (in the lab) in the day when we would rather work. Yes, to the exercise wheels, and add some interesting objects for them to investigate and play with.
Yes to acarbose, but we need berberine, and non-feminizing estrogen too
I hope these are heterogeneous mice.
The step up from one intervention is 2 not 4. It would have been better to start with all the combinations of 2 interventions (but with all the healthy life features: good food, exercise, novel environments, good sleep, and low stress). If the interventions don't work over and above the usual advice for long life, they are near useless. I believe there are interventions that will show effective in these conditions, and I very much would want to know what they are.
