Oh wow! You’re so right….I darkened the area under my lip (I used an old eye brow powder palette in the colour blonde!) and it makes a huge difference. I then discovered that the old eye brow palette is the perfect colour for contouring. I love learning new tricks at the age of 63. Particularly for my thinning lips. And I tried the idea of putting a bit of blush on my eyes to balance the face - another winner! Thank you! I love what you teach us.
I realized that many of my brown eye shadows and pencils could do double duty as lip liner, eyeliner, brow pencil, face contour and eye shadows. No need for one item per body part! Just another way companies get your money!

I love this series that you’re doing, tutorials focused on a specific topic like mascara and full lips! The contouring is a technique I haven’t considered, so I will try! I discovered the glossing the center of the lip technique by accident: if I don’t want too much gloss, I dab some gloss at the center of my lip and then rub my lips together. One day, I looked in the mirror before rubbing from side to side and thought, “Hey, that’s a cool illusion!”
You’re probably too young to remember this, but years ago, for a brief period, the look was a dark, fun color like purple, and then dabbing on the center a color opposing it on the wheel, like orange. Sound like clown makeup and I def wouldn’t do now, but it actually looked pretty cool!

Love to see all but especially love you shared the tip on #3 with concealer basically “wiping out “ the ends of the mouth on each side…I do this everyday with foundation since even without the other lip makeup it adds the look of volume to my thin lips!
Concealing on the sides really helps for those with naturally downturned lips or as we get older, especially if you are wearing a significant lip color like red.

Love no. 2 look. I have tried to over line my cupids bow, but I have many fine lines and it seems to accentuate it. From afar it looks okay, but I wonder if other people looking at me, would think it looks odd. Your thoughts with lips with lots of fine lines. Thanks for the great tips. 🙏🥰

Use a child's toothbrush to exfoliate --Dollar Tree carries them. I use infant/toddler hairbrushes for gentle, weekly facial exfoliation in summer bec the bristles for children's products are softer than those for adults.

I love Dervish by MAC. It is a light pink/nude that is soft and super wearable. It works on fair to light skin tones best.

I don't care for a brown lip, it accentuates any yellowness your teeth may have so that one def is not my favorite. The second two looks are stunning! I'll be looking for those lip liners b/c I already have the City Lips in several shades. I got the pink nude shade of the matte version and I must've gotten a bad one. That dried my lips out SO much in about 20 seconds it went directly into the trash can. I won't look at another matte version again in my life! I love the tips you offer!!

That one is my fave too! I also have a wider mouth for my face and these tricks have really helped to balance it out more.
#2 is my favorite. More natural, flushed lip. I am looking for a polished look suitable for Zoom and in-person meetings with clients. At 60yo, with recent facial work including eye and lip lift, I definitely look more like 45yo, but I want subtle, not overtly sexy. But after finding Gabi yesterday, I am loving these tutorials. I like the 2nd lip look, I’m more for pink tones, but since the skin on my lips are dark pink, not pale, I can’t use light color on contour it won’t be noticeable as much. The 1st look goes well on me, thankfully I know now how to do it the right way, as you mentioned I used to counter the lip all around and end up with a huge lip like a monkey 😂, look awful 🙈, had to take it out and just have lipstick alone or just make contour with pink.
I tried the method as watching your video and looks better 🥳, only using contour line and lip gloss but since my natural lips 👄 are dark pink, I still I need to have a color lipstick on, just to change color if I want another look. What lip gloss budget friendly can you recommend? I heard about Hard Candy brand , can you advice ?
Also the color on the contour stick NYX it goes well for everyone? Since it’s summer in Florida I have tan so I better be sure before buying .

Thank u Gabi! I have a mature semi full lip , but naturally pigmented border (i have tan skin). If i use a sheer lipstick it highlights my natural outline. All 3 techniques look gorgeous on you! Which Mac lipliner color would suit my tan skin (i am slightly darker than u)?
Have you tried MAC Soar? It is a great lipliner for medium tone skin. I also love Whirl and Spice.

@@midlifemom5829 No problem at all! Here in Canada, since it's national lipstick day, MAC is having a sale on all of their lip products. You should check if they have it where you are located. I just know that because I put a whole bunch of stuff on hold for it. LOL. Because I just don't have enough makeup...

Sure wish I could do this I use city lips I wear Sun Diego. I did not know. There was a lip plumper though I thought it was all the same just a lip gloss.

How long do the lips stay plumed ?
You are so sweet! I find that my lips stay plumped for a long time! I reapply it overtop of my liner throughout the day usually for hydration and moisture and I get that plump effect again but I am sure if you do it once, you will get several hours of hydration and plump from it.

That's ok! You can fake it. There are A LOT of things about me that aren't perfect (my lips are uneven, one eye is more hooded then the other, my brows are a COMPLETE DISASTER without makeup) but we have tools to balance things. Makeup is a super power.
What eyeliner do you use?
Today I am just using a dark brown shadow applied with an angled brush that I spray with makeup setting spray. I just wanted a very soft and diffused line.

You just have to blend. It should look like a shadow so as long as you take your time and shade/diffuse it out, you will be fine :)

Like another person commented, how can you not buy the City Lips after this? 😮 If I can get my lips plumped that much without filler I’m buying at least 2. 😂 I like all your looks. I’m a little on the fence about the return of the 90s lip. I rocked it when it was popular but I think I’m done. I prefer more natural neutral shades now. So the other 2 are my faves. Especially the last one. I think if I wore makeup every day, I might be more into the different colors but I don’t so the natural lips are my go to. ❤❤❤❤
I totally get it because I am the same way. I like the brown lip. It is cool and fun but 99% of the time I wear lip #3 (usually less over-lined then that though). I LOVE makeup but I am very natural most of the time. I just feel more like myself and more comfortable that way.
