My pick is still the tata harrier. The car in its segment which is based on range rover platform and also gets suspension from jlr. Harrier is superbly built and the road presence is unbeatable. Other thing is that harrier offers a great combination of power and mileage. Hector is more of a gadget than a car, its ground clearance doesn’t look ideal for indian roads and tyres are too small.Another issue is mg light steering. I am not a fan of very high speeds just like indian roads, and harrier remains so stable and communicative till 120kmph. Best part is that it won’t feel underpowered anywhere. Except that ugly orange, grey and gold harrier looks just like range rovers and have undeniable road presence. And no matter what happens, tata will gonna stay in india but that can’t be said for mg and jeep. Booked xt variant after so much waiting

Pros 1. Front look 2. Interior quality 3. Rear seat space. 4. connected car Cons. 1. Rear look 2. Engine option and driving dyanmics 3. Lagging touch screen with no physical buttons.
To get this car to be a beast we need : Complete chrome blackout Black body paint 20 inch knobby tyres Blackout on the rear skid plate and reflector ECU remap to Stage 2 at least . . And then, maybe, we have a car that can be a strong seller.
Bala M for me it doesn’t matter.. The country become crowded every where and you cannot even maintain 90 kmh speed on the highways.. The trucks never follow the lane disciplines and handling never need for just driving behind trucks with 25 km/h..
Not just 17 inch rims, even the overall tyre diameter is not big. We can see some customized SUVs with only 17 inch rims but 35 inch diameter tyres, having huge side profile.
It's a Chinese owned company,sometimes it can offer some extra luxury and style,But along with these Tata Harrier provides that extra safety,Which was Made in India

A car can give almost all the features of the world but if it lacks the driver's confidence while driving then it loses the core drivability assurance no matter how many airbags it comes with for safety.

Joju Pulikken if you have more city use, Seltos is better. I myself booked it on 12 dec and I have more of a highway use so the bigger boot and more legroom really matters. Otherwise Seltos is better.

Imo guys MG will be updating this model and I guess by 2020 they'll give an inch bigger wheels, third row seats too (as said in the vid obv), and tighter suspension. I was also excited for this launch but tbh better to wait an year.
To all buyers ... it the actual 2018 Chevorlet Captiva. You can check too. So no need to worry as the design is by chevorlet. Just the engine is of different make. Captiva launched as hector by MG. Captiva lives on.....
The looks, design features suberb, price 9/10, so I booked without a test drive, sharp hybrid Mt, when I drove it my 1st impression was I made huge mistake. You won't get SUV feel what so ever. No initial pick up. Now I have cancelled my booking. Overall rating 6/10. While Diesel engine is very good. 9/10. If you want to buy Hector with 4-8 waiting period better to go for Diesel.
People who don't know much about cars shouldn't even comment. The wheel size is 17 inch which is more than enough. The tire size should be increased to 265/65.
I just absolutely love the honest opinions Gavin gives. Love how not biased he is. Personally I'd still prefer the Tata Harrier over the Hector. I mean such a huge vehicle definitely needs to have a larger boot and for Indian roads you most certainly need sturdy suspensions with the least body roll.

Too much automation. It will feel awkward in giving voice commands when other passengers are inside. So manual switches are required, atleast for AC controls, so that the eyes don't move off the road. And those command through smartphone from long distance (anywhere in the world with internet). Are those really required? When you drive a car worth 25 lakhs, you must have a house of 1 crore. Is your house have so much automation? I think these are fancy things (atleast for now), and will stop using once the car is a month older. The things that really matter are comfort, suspension, offroading for an SUV, good pickup, and good aftersale service.

I drove the hector a while back,i liked it the first time..ride was floaty, little body roll but features made up for it..so i thought of riding it again before i can book it,god have i saved some money.The interior rattles went way up and it didn't feel it compensated for the features.THE vehicle I've driven is a test drive one and it drove 4.5k till now.No matter what abuse it faced rattles starting so soon is not a good sign,so i backed off!

Rear transmission tunnel is not available in this car it means it is never going to get 4x4 option. Rear transmission tunnel also works as a beam and provides rigidity to the structure. These things clearly indicates that it wouldn’t be safer as Harrier.

The Tata Bolt has the eight-speaker infotainment system from Harman with Infinity speakers... It also has the voice commands though not as varied.
