Maybe it has something to do with the way he teaches and how she views her art. A lot of artists say “oh it’s nothing” and tend to be a little pessimistic. Vivian’s positive attitude probably contributes to her good art because she isn’t all about total perfection and all about trying new shapes, designs, colors and anything that can possibly be visually pleasing.
Siphy I guess it's changing due to how she behaved back then, before she wasn't able to handle criticism before. It's like she's been praised a bit too much which raised her ego, she may have changed, and I hope so. :)
Not gonna lie, looking back at Viv’s old sketchbooks, it makes me reminisce and miss her old, more flowy art-style… Regardless, it makes me really happy to see the amount of growth she has had over the years, for she is truly an inspiration :)

It's so cool to encounter these years later and see how far she's come. From silly animations on UA-cam to a full show on Amazon Prime. Years of hard work and time definitely paid off.
I like that she has found her very own style of drawing. I am still searching and funding my personal drawing style, I am on my way. I really like her drawings, she really can play with the emotions of her characters.

***** well I know it's nice to have a cool sketch book. but somtimes you have to improvise. heck I started out with using collage ruled notebooks, and I know a pro who still uses them. never let your lack of resources hold you back from developing your most important tool, yourself.
Viv is such an amazing artist! This sketch book and many of her other work taught me that there is no limit in to pushing expressions or movement and that really helped me improve my own art as well as her attention to detail in the most simplest of drawings.

The way this teacher compliments and praises vizie so much just reminds me of all the teachers in my life who have support my art and encouraged me to continue drawing, we need more teachers like this, they really raise creative and free-thinking teenagers into adults who are capable of doing anything

I saw the thumbnail and recognized the art style! It's nice seeing how she progressed throughout the years, I only really started following Vivian after the pilot episode of Hazbin Hotel came out(I think I saw one of her college films years before but didn't know it was her) but just seeing her old drawings and designs of characters when just a few weeks ago I was watching the season finale for her show.. it's really inspiring!! :)
I saw part of this on TikTok the other day but I genuinely appreciate the teacher's enthusiasm and overall praise for her drawings. To be fair, that first page with Alastor is terrifying but the teacher doesn't flinch. This is such an amazing timepiece. Makes me wish I could pick up a pencil and draw myself. Well my heart is tearing apart here because yeah, vivi is amazing, and she's said that she is. Me being in art high school, when I draw or animate in kind of cartoony style, I'm immediately told to s top being so infantile, it's not art, it's just a craft, your hand is steady, curves are nice but your ideas and I don't know are just... like they wanted to be liked by the audience. Of course I'm not going to stop or anything ewh, it just makes me feel so down, while I see people can be told they're doing great job... Good for them, good for viv, uh.
That sucks but Vivienne understand the basics. the fundamentals. She knows anatomy really well that she is able to break the rules and exaggerate it to however she wants because she a strong understanding of realism. Great art, or any art should be based of realism. Matt knows this fact. Maybe your teachers are trying to teach you this as well. but to say its not art?? something is wrong there. you should punch them in the face. XD

hey this looks really great! Sorry if I offended you or anything. It's just that most of the time teachers would caution students who would ONLY draw what they like without knowing the or at least studying foundation skills. I love drawing cartoons and anime and whatnot but i put in the same effort towards my foundation skills and my teacher didn't mind my stylized drawings because she knew that I knew what I was doing. Sorry for rambling on haha. you obviously know and understand the fundamentals. I apologize again if I offended you in any way. I don't understand why a teacher would discourage a student for drawing something they really like. That just.. That makes me furious. Just do what you love but do what they say they say even if you disagree with their outlook about art. I hope everything works out for you buddy. And how old are you btw?

Well my heart is tearing apart here because yeah, vivi is amazing, and she's said that she is. Me being in art high school, when I draw or animate in kind of cartoony style, I'm immediately told to s top being so infantile, it's not art, it's just a craft, your hand is steady, curves are nice but your ideas and I don't know are just... like they wanted to be liked by the audience. Of course I'm not going to stop or anything ewh, it just makes me feel so down, while I see people can be told they're doing great job... Good for them, good for viv, uh.
That sucks but Vivienne understand the basics. the fundamentals. She knows anatomy really well that she is able to break the rules and exaggerate it to however she wants because she a strong understanding of realism. Great art, or any art should be based of realism. Matt knows this fact. Maybe your teachers are trying to teach you this as well. but to say its not art?? something is wrong there. you should punch them in the face. XD

hey this looks really great! Sorry if I offended you or anything. It's just that most of the time teachers would caution students who would ONLY draw what they like without knowing the or at least studying foundation skills. I love drawing cartoons and anime and whatnot but i put in the same effort towards my foundation skills and my teacher didn't mind my stylized drawings because she knew that I knew what I was doing. Sorry for rambling on haha. you obviously know and understand the fundamentals. I apologize again if I offended you in any way. I don't understand why a teacher would discourage a student for drawing something they really like. That just.. That makes me furious. Just do what you love but do what they say they say even if you disagree with their outlook about art. I hope everything works out for you buddy. And how old are you btw?
