No. The engine looks fine. The engine from that movie looks wrong. This engine is what would be more used back in the 50's.

The teacup with a lime could be referring to an espresso romano or maybe tea.

I wonder why the couplers are not magnets like all the other trains. I still have tons of the older 9-V that ran on metal rails and no batteries needed. My favourite train is my Emerald Night and glad I bought that one back in the day. I wish Lego would bring back the 9V trains and the rolling stock you used to buy as individual sets like they used to. I was considering buying this Orient Express set, but after watching this video and the poor abililty of the locomotive driving wheels to turn, I think I will pass an dsave myself over $300.

Having bought the emerald night with its far better engine and still one passenger car with the tender for $100, I am having a very hard time stomaching the price being triple for an extra passenger car and more detail in them when I miss out on the engine design and the ability to power it through my lego village.

To be completely fair to lego, its not entirely their fault about motorization. The coaches are exceptionally heavy, and this item was intended to originally be a showboat piece. And if its more meant for play, the LEGO team is more going to focus on the insides and making it more fun to roleplay with the figures. Not saying your opinion is invalid. I actually intend to purchase an additional set to make it 4 cars long and an emerald night looking train

My main issue is the color. The real train is a classy dark blue but the bright blue Lego makes it look cheap.

They should reduce the price. 300$ is insanely expensive. With 50% off I'll consider buying it.

The loco appears to be based on a Prussian P8. Recolour in olive green and it's not far off.

I want this set despite it being $300 and knowing it is kind of more complicated to motorize it but trains were a huge part of my childhood so that is why I’d get this so it symbolizes that. For $300 it would’ve been nice to have either a motor or make it so it runs smoother on track and makes it easier to motorize though I’ll admit that but has 8 figures

Picked up this set recently with discount, and found that I had the wrong sticker sheet and misspelt destination tiles, customer service was great and are sending me the correct stickers and tiles which I received today, and can now finish building.

You're reaching so hard on the bar/alcohol part, and limes are very common to find at bars as they're used in many different drinks.

I like the looks of it yes the original design one was a cool engine, but that had so many parts and way to complex for people to build.
I don't really like amy of lego train official sets besides this one. I plan to motorize it 9v rail/motor. People have already figured out the flaw and did it and its not to hard of a fix its mostly the coal cart thats the main issue.

@@ArchitectPlaysparkitectlego trains should be launched as an actual theme and sell trains and locomotives and rolling stock separately like how the non Lego model rail set are

"The names stick out on top. It doesn't look nice." Meanwhile the real thing: "has same outer names for cities as plaques the same as the Lego set"

I wonder if LEGO could find a way to chain multiple Powered Up motors to a single connection. The carriages seem large enough to hide cables beneath the floor

The coaches are great but the locomotive is a big let down. Despite that I still purchased it!

Yep I would of been more happy with a blue emerald night I did pick this kit up only reason I did was I got it at a good price I will put it on the back burner until a better engine for it comes along

I would buy it, but it’s quite expensive and I’ve got lots of train MOCs at home. At the very least I can use the new minifigure parts and the official Lego train couplings.

To me the locomotive looks a bit like Gordon from Thomas the Tank Engine if I ever got another locomotive I would build and modify it to resemble Gordon and I will make Gordon

    • @n.pags.99
      @n.pags.99 Місяць тому

Love the reference bc Thomas was my entire world when I was really little, I’d say it kind of looks more like the size of Edward, Gordon is definitely a longer locomotive. Edward is in the middle between size of Thomas and Gordon
