  • Would you like some non-stigging bees to help pollinate your spring garden, vegtables, fruit, fruit trees and bushes! Look no further...simply put up a Mason Bee house and they will often arrive. I'm going to add several new houses this year because they have filled up last years spaces.
You can buy kits or ready made houses too: amzn.to/3PRR2Vu

I'm about 99% sure it's the Mason bees that pollinate all of my stuff. Especially my apples. These guys are the real MVP

agreed for sure they pollinate most if not all of my fruit trees too. I'm going to put up more houses throughout the property...make sure they are happy.

that is awesome. They overwinter in that spot or greenhouse ? garage ?

excellent question...they overwinter right where they are, it's best to put them somewhere which is solidly backed (a wall or building or fence) protected from too much wind, 3 to 6 feet off the ground and that gets morning sun year around. Mine is facing SouthWest and it works great.

Do you find little to no bees on blooming tomato or pepper plants ? Are toms wind pollinated ?

Tomatoes and peppers are one of the few plants that are referred to as a 'perfect pollinators' they have both male and female flowers and often self pollinate simply from wind or dropping pollen from higher flowers to lower flowers. Of course bees and other insects can still assist with the pollination of those plants. That's why they are so easy grow...once the plant is established...
