Hi guys. I just finished watching all the episodes and now I’m current. You both should be very proud of your adventure so far. Well done. I look forward to watching each new episode. Please be safe. Greetings from Southern California.
Heya, oh that’s awesome! Always love to hear when people binge our episode’s 😝 thanks so much! We’ll definitely keep as safe as possible ☺️ cheers to you
It’s nice that u guys included a map and direction for your heading, I can follow it in google map,, don’t miss Dubrovnik in Croatia if you continue sailing Adriatic Sea..
Hey guys great effort & drop !! Classic why don't we put the motor on. Jason with a slight head wobble & the sound of authority. WE..... don't need the motor. Next shot the motors going. HA Ha Stay safe. 🏴☠⛵
Unfortunately it's the "Civil Servant" mentality that many have. Mostly in the older generation but not unheard of with younger also. It's the "you need me I don't need you" state of mind they have. We have many names we use to describe them here but none that are youtube friendly. Stay safe and always have fun. I hope this unfortunate encounter does not leave a negative impression of Greece.
@@georgekot6377 hahaha yessss I definitely agree with you with the whole ‘I don’t need you you need me’ thing for sure! I don’t think it will, I guess it just happens sometimes or in particular places. Just never know what you’re going to get anywhere really 😏 thanks George 😊
I feel your pain last January I checked out of Kalamata Greece and was tormented for 4 hours at the port police and ended up having to pay a fee/ bribe to get my transit log released . Then was given 1/2hour to get underway. Love the Greek people and the country but hate the corrupt system and lack of continuity.
Thanks Simon, um it really depended on the island and also the time of year. I feel like they were more friendly going at the start of the season this year than last year at the end of the season. Of course the smaller towns and islands seemed to be friendlier. I would rave about how friendly they are though. So far Turkey especially and then Montenegro are prob the friendliest on our travels here 😊
Hey Andrea 😄 our episodes are a couple of months behind but we were there for 2 weeks total, prob don’t need any longer than that. The coastline further north is super exposed to there isn’t many places to anchor and towns are harbours are few and far between. Ksamil and Sarande are definitely the most popular spots. We used Sarande summer tours, you can find all the info if you Google that 😊
Loved the drone footage of the coast. Especially loved the SAILING, though! As far as the rude official..... I always wonder what happened personally to them that morning, to set that tone for the day. Most people doing menial jobs like that get the job because of "who they know" NOT "what they know". People get Govt jobs that way all over the world! US&OZ, too. AND that is WHY it's so F'd up!😝😝 Best to just keep smiling. Albania awaits!
Thanks Earl 😄 glad you enjoyed! Yeah I think she’s pretty notorious for being like that everyday 😂 heard a few rumours about Corfu, might not just be her though might be others So true!! Bring in Albania 😁😋 cheers 🍻
Just saw your video and was wondering which agent you used ? We will be going from Corfu to Sarande upcoming March, seems you guys were happy with the agent. And what is with the mooring buoys ? Need to make a reservation or they are just for free to hook up to ?
Hey Dave. The agent we used was Sarande summer tours, it’s a couple who run it and they’re awesome! You can Google them 😃Very friendly and onto everything. also if you check back out in Sarande, They’ll check you out of the country without Having to pay again. From memory it was €55 total. They can also organise gas bottle refill for a small fee if you need The public mooring balls you can just hook onto for free, there’s a couple of spots with the really big orange ones so if you see them free, you can take them. No need to book 😃 they had one in ksamil, some smaller buoy’s in Sarande but Sarande had good holding anyway and some further north. Ksamil is def the nicest area to go in Albania (that we went to anyway) as we didn’t go to all the spots up north, it is quiet exposed
@@LeadingtheEscapade thanks for the quick reply. The 55 euro sounds a lot better than the 900 euro quote we received in Corfu (which also included check out in Corfu). Good to hear the mooring balls are free as well. Just like you we are planning to stay for a couple of weeks in Albania, seeing the country a bit before moving on to Montenegro. Also saw in another video you were in the same bay just South of Corfu town and we had a horrible experience there as well. Was quiet in the daytime and at night all hell broke loose. Not a lot of fun and no sleep whatsoever. 🥶 Safe travels. 👍
Hahah yeah more straight to the point I agree and not a bad thing but a little bit of real kindness goes a long way too 😅 she wasn’t just straight to the point she was deliberately going out of her way to be rude
We had the same woman in Corfu by the sound of it, short-dark hair, she was so rude it was just funny. She told us we hadn’t paid the Tepei properly and from her position behind the glass screen waved towards the other doors and said go there, from that instruction we were supposed to work out we needed to find an email address written on the window and email out tepei info! We had a half hour of those sorts of instructions, she told Judy to get out as well, we ignored her. When we finished the first time she said ‘now go there’ and waved in a direction down the corridor behind her office, now we’ve been there before so we know customs are outside, way over the other side of the port luckily someone standing there shook her head and pointed outside, I thought for a second they had moved it. She just wants to set up a situation where she can shout at you. It’s obviously how the woman amuses herself she’s like it all the time, we were talking to some of the agent in Customs & they were all laughing at how bad she is.
Hi guys, I checked out of Corfu a few months ago using Gouvia marina as the exit point. There's a customs/police office in the port, we found them very helpful. Just make sure all your boats paperwork is ready! See you in the Adriatic? (SV Nike)
Yep that sounds exactly like her and she was doing pretty much the same thing to us Aswell, she’s such a Bitch 😳😤 It just sucks that you can’t do anything about it as it’s not she’s there as customer service, maybe we should all take a stand and complain about her to some higher power 😅
Hey guys! Ah yes we did read you could also check out of there, we weren’t in that area but definitely if we ever had to go back there I would use their instead. Only thing is it’s seasonal for check in and check out there Thanks for the suggestion ☺️ hopefully see you out there sometime
continue to be present on your channel, it's really fun. Continue with your latest video, I'm waiting for you here from Indonesia your compact greetings, success is always the youtube content and success is also my youtube content too. amen
I had the same lady and she was very nice to me but as I finished up she started yelling at the next guy in line. It is so inconsistent. Last week I was scrutinised over my original boat registration papers at Porto Heli and I told the port policeman to relax as the entire routine is a crock of shit and a waste of time. Of course, as I had hoped, he went off his nana. He threatened fines and I told him he can stick his fines. The senior officer told us to calm down and ordered me to come back the next day when hot head was off duty. The next day there was no problem. The best thing to do if NOT checking in and out of the country is to not go to the port police office.
Yeah she sounds like she’s got her own issue’s going on. Crazy how many stories I’ve heard about her now 😅 hahaha I love it, telling someone to relax is always going to make them not relax 😂 Oh wow that’s interesting! Yeah we actually want to find out if we now even need to check in at port police when we arrive in a Schengen country from another Schengen country, so we’ll already be stamped in and the boat is EU registered too Might have to get on Facebook and Check that out 😄
Yeah 😏 I totally get they would have trouble with tourists etc too but no need to become a sour puss to everyone. I’m always extremely friendly to them too
We had the same woman, she told us to wait whilst she wondered if the get her phone and we needed to she a guy on the other side of the hall. He then called her and said something in greek.( He was polite to us,but clearly un happy with her). She then slams her phone down and starts looking at our documents. Like you say she hates her job and is unhappy about everything... We decided to be overly friendly and ask her multiple times about the forms just to be sure and watch her reaction.... 🤣 We did Albania a couple of months back. Very friendly people, but stock up in the supermarket near BAR, we didn't find any good food shops until Montenegro after that. The guy at the fuel doc in Bar is a total legend to super friendly and is opposite of Corfu rage lady.
Wow she really needs to be fired or she needs help with her anger issues it’s insane how many people have sent me similar stories about her. Hahah I love it 😂😂 We only ended up doing around the southern end of albania before sailing onto Montenegro however we didn’t end up visiting bar in the end. Loved Montenegro though, will be coming up in episodems soon ☺️ Cheers
Some people get into civil service jobs because of the benefits but despise the workload then the mundanity and repetition of of the bureaucracy kills whatever soul they had left. Next time genuinely ask them if they are ok. Not in any kind of snarky way but actually as a genuine concern and if they respond with any kind of question, just say "Surely a job like this shouldn't be making you this unhappy?"
Yeah totally understand that. It’s so hard when there’s a language barrier for things like that to come across the right way so there was no way I was even going to try. I was always polite to her despite her continuing to be rude about everything
@@LeadingtheEscapade One of the most frustrating things for people being rude (not just having a bad day) is the other person going slowly so just slow everything down! Breathe a lot between each step. Get them to repeat themselves multiple times! It's not personal as they don't know you so make it as laborious and painful for them as possible! First time I went to India I learnt a hard lesson about their love of bureaucracy and lost my temper so many times. The next time I went I just smiled, acted dumb and turned it around!
STAY SAFE AND HAVE FUN!
Thank you very much for your efforts!! 🤗 Sail safe guys ⛵

It definitely looks nicer from the water 😄 same as ksamil 🤭
Great episode... love the adventure you are on

The police are like that there as we found out when we arrived at the airport. Must be the broom to far inserted 🤣🤣
Really 😂😂 must just be something about Corfu 🤭 hahaha agree
