Wow, a lot of videos to watch, but having watched a couple, I think this might make my mixing and mastering so much better. Already seen a few ways I've been going wrong. Big thanks for keeping it simplish as well.
Ive been trying to mix and master at the same time and it sounds good on my studio speakers but when I play it on my phone or in my truck it’s always sounds low. So it’s been a little frustrating.
You make a lot of logical sense👍 So, ideally you should mix your song from the static mix, include your processing, levels etc then export it. Start a new session for mastering only. That forces you to get the mix right versus mastering in the mixing session. Sound about right?
What's crazy is I just started mixing and mastering in separate sessions and BRO, the sound quality has been night and day. Leaving 6 db of head room before bouncing my mix has truly been a game changer. Great video, love your techniques keep it up bro!
Colin, I noticed that your db meter was in the red for the mastered tracks. I don't understand why this isn't a problem. Shouldn't the final masters always stay below, say, -.5 db? Great video! Great series, and yes, do release the new version! Tony
Hey Antonio! That's a great question - Just indicating red doesn't actually mean it's peaking- it's just a warning indicator. So inherently in mastering, you'll be seeing red on your meters.
@TheBandGuide - for an EP/Album, if you recorded and mixed all of the songs (and song transitions) in a single logic project...is there any reason to split each song out onto a separate track like you have done in this example? Is there any downside to just mastering it all as a single track at that point? Thanks for this series, immensely helpful!
The shortcut cmd shift M didn't work for me. Instead of opening "master track" it opens "stereo out". Is there any other way to open a "master track" column?

Yes, you should release this song 🎶

Your channel is a Gold mine unknown by many ♥️💯🌟
of course release it sir song is so energetic
Great stuff but make sure you turn the mastering plugin off when referencing your mix
Not that we are suppose to work with our eyes but.........your wave forms look just as good as the pro's
Yeah! I dig this track!
Dead useful tips! Thank you!!
Thank you for all you do, much appreciated, but please when is the video of the mastering process coming out?
Thanks
Tomorrow!
EXCELLENCE!!!

Can you make a video on how to set a mixing session after production? I am still confused on the bouncing the tracks out part of it

When setting up a mastering session for an EP, are you applying the same mastering to every song? And then bouncing the songs individually?
Onb thats wat im tryn find out
Is the metering a logic plug in? I’m still using GB but I think I’m ready for Logic 😊
I absolute hate third part plug ins that’s why I’m asking and yes I do set up mastering sessions
It is standard in Logic.
this is gonna sound like a ridiculous question but, what do i do if my mastering assistant button is gone? its genuinely not there

Yes! If you go up to Track in the top menu and select "Show Output Track"
How come my "Bnc" button is on my stereo out channel instead of my master channel? Will that make a difference in my mastering?
Your stereo out is your master channel I think he just renamed his 👌🏾
after listening you , rushing through , I was wondering what time is your flight
I do think the instruments drown out the vocals.. especially that cling sound and guitar:)
You talk too much just go straight to the point man !!
