Never had the chance to see them in concert but this was the first time I've heard Chino this way and it's sick as hell! No pun. I know some of you said he was sick and wasn't his best, but he has one of the most recognizable vocal styles period. Their combined sound they make is the icing on the cake, so kudos guys. My daughter who was born in 2006 asked who these guys were when she was around 11 or 12 and they're now her favorite, along with Alice in Chains, Sublime, and 311. It's cool to see her and friends listening to the stuff I grew up on, while her generation's music is BTS, Bieber, the Jonas Brothers, and the rest of the no talent pop stars. Her first Deftones record was White Pony and now has most of their stuff. They can say their synced collaboration style and sound has influenced multiple generations of young people like mine and they will carry it on and on.
no one listens to jonas brothers who was born in 06 lol you shouldn't be so harsh on what kids listen to even if you dont like it, you might find something you really like :)
If I'm not mistaken this was filmed Around February 2001 and a month later he completely blew his voice. Thanks to White Pony and Back to School tours his voice was already giving him problems a few months before that. It seems like Change at the time was the hardest song for him to sing even more so than Digital Bath. Watch live performances from early White Pony tour and you'll see he actually could sing his songs.
Deftones are a legend and I love it, I'm just never going to explain myself, how there are vocalists who release songs that they can't sing well live, in the studio version the song is great, it's one of my favorites from the band, but never I've seen one in concert that sings it well, she simply can't and her pushes are horrible

As a Deftones fan, I had to understand that their music is not very playable live specially the vocals. But I respect that they play live even though they know Chino sounds so weird and even terrible. It's more about love and enjoyment than playing clean.
