Shocked at all the comments about the gloves. Did anyone not go to school? They teach you to wear gloves and there are many reasons why. Self protection is my first reason. Contracting god knows what from client to your hand. Transmitting other germs and diseases to client. Perhaps people need a refresh in modern esthetics or a 101 on cleanliness.
I just gave my sister who I just spend a week with visiting. I saw she really needed a massage. I wanted to show her how she can make more money easier cuz we both have our licenses but don’t practice. So I gave her a upper chest, shoulder, neck, upper back, facial massage, and scalp, then did both hands to the elbows and since I basically did the upper arm I connected. Then from the feet to the knees. I used gloves on the feet and legs. She said u know it feels no different. Mine were blue rubber gloves. Did pressure points. A lot of these techniques and actually a lot more for an hour. And pressure points. The only thing I didn’t do was apply a mask. Then I put a hot towel over her face and wiped off some of the lotion with a cool towel. She couldn’t believe how relaxing it was.
Good video but the gloves prevent that connection to the client. I work at a very upscale spa and the only time I use gloves is for an acne client, chemical peel, hydrafacial or microdermabrasion. Gloves do not feel feel comfortable during a facial. I cringe at the thought of getting a massage with gloves.
+Gigi Bean she commented on the length of her own nails. She explained that her nails were too long and definitely would not have them if she did facials on a daily basis.
The gloves 🤦🏻♀️. Massage therapist and estheticians are required to have short nails. It’s nice to like your manicure but it’s about the client not you. I’ve managed high ends spas. This is a no no

Gloves are now required throughout the whole service from finish til end because of covid now.
