I remember meeting Nina at a street photography workshop back in 2017. She's was and is an awesome human being and it makes me so happy to see her here! Go Nina!
Loved this and her work! Great question about managing your art and passion along with family. It is a struggle as you somewhere feel guilty (wrongly) about taking your time off. But slowly the family does realise it and also enjoys our photography
Very inspiring interview. Specially had to think over the fact that there are different types of ambiguity (visual, contextual, narrative, emotional), which gave me new ideas.
@, different kind of pairing: Daido Moriyama & Ralph Gibson. I paired them for the seminar for seniors I run on the history of photography. Most photos in vertical or portrait orientation because book publication was always the aim. Also extreme high contrast and the effects that creates.
yup trying to do SP with a family kids is the ultimate challenge, it is a young man's game as they say. Idk how some ppl are able to get decent shots of their kids or when theyre out with their kids...i cant...i always had to make time or on lunch breaks, it took a toll on my then marriage and family but it is what it is
Legal Consent is different in every country - in the US u do not need consent for if the photo is for art purpose - different if used for commercial purpose ! Send me a dm and I can tell u more about it
As it is art and not a commercial project, I did not need any consent to publish the photos in the book. I usually Google privacy laws before I travel to a new country.

I love Nina's way of seeing things around her. I'm going to try similar perspectives in my photography. I know it won't be difficult in Turkiye.

Yes - being a parent and trying to take photos is challenging but kids do get older and it gets easier xox
The issue of whether the people you photograph in your book consent to this or not, keeps me away from experiencing street photography.

@@NinaklingWhat about in Germany? Do you need consent to publish in a book ,for example? .
