Honestly, I feel like this was one of Wander's defining moments. Dominator played the absoloute cruelest trick possible on Wander, and, despite being visibly angered by that trick, he still wanted nothing more than to help Dominator and see the good in her. That just goes to show how deep Wander's belief in others is, how unshakeable the kindness in his heart is. She made him believe she had murdered his best friend, and he still had faith in Dominator's ability to change for the better. That says so, so much about Wander's character and the strength of his convictions. Dominator may not have deserved that kindness or second chances, but Wander never stopped believing for a second that she did.

Yeah this was scary for sure, the show had shockingly dark moments O_O’ I personally don’t see Dom as redeemable, and i like to think Wander comes to understand and accept that - because some people are truly without empathy, and you can’t be good without it. She’s a serial killer, LITERALLY. I imagine she blew up in the explosion on her ship and Wander had to make peace with the fact that some people don’t change, and he was nature’s gift to protecting trillions.
I think it was intentional because backstories are give some insight on why characters are the way they are. If Dominator was given a backstory the viewers would most likely try to sympathize with her or say something along the lines of “Dominator did nothing wrong” The only way people possibly wouldn’t sympathize is if Dominator was evil from birth for some unexplained reason.
It's the fact that she essentially has no idea what she's doing. She's just playing everything by ear. Usually big bad villains like this have a big master plan which they follow rigidly. She has nothing planned. She's just flying around destroying whatever she sees and collecting things which she can use to destroy more things. It reminds me of how one plays a video game. You just follow the story. You're not concerned about what you're supposed to be doing beyond what you're doing right now because you know it will all work itself out. It's a video game, that's how it works. And, that's why it's so unsettling. The inevitability of everything she does. And, she does it all like she's some cool hero.
Well, I will say this. If she DID succeed and destroy everything and everyone...what next? Oh, I'm sure for, oh, ten minutes or so she'd be ecstatic. But then she wouldn't have anything left to destroy or individuals to torment. No purpose. Nothing left to give her "joy". She'd just have to, like, build more robots to smash them, then rebuild them and smash them again and so on and so forth.
Actually, Dominator _did_ have plans for what to do after destroying the show's galaxy: _moving onto the next one._ The only reason she _didn't_ in the end was because destroying _this_ galaxy was the most fun she'd ever had doing exactly that; the place was literally _perfect_ to her! Watching a planet slowly die from the inside out is magical to her, yeah, but how much fun she has dominating a galaxy depends _heavily_ on how entertaining it is for her to chase, harass, and torture her favorite victims (which, in the present galaxy's case, were Wander, Sylvia, Hater, and Peepers - but _MAINLY_ Wander). There were plans for an episode that showed us all of this, but it ultimately ended up being unnecessary... I like how he ASKS her to destroy him after accidentally telling her about the others. Like, he's so mortified with his slip up he wants to disappear (well, more likely he just wants to distract her, but I still think it's hilarious).

One of the best scenes from the finale. I actually never thought so much about this one before, but it’s actually an amazing moment. Wander having a real 1-on-1 with Dominator, his ideological opposite, for the first time on the show-funnily enough the second time being later on the same episode. Plus, there’s some, oh, so lush animation on Wander in most shots of the chase scene and in his movement while Dom’s clutching his hand-special mention to him trying to chew his arm off like a rabid coyote. Just top notch like usual for the series.
Your friendly neighborhood Star Nomad wander may be sweet and all, but sometimes he really needs to understand that not everyone deserves a second chance. people like dominator are complete heartless monsters.
Both Major Threat and Sylvia started off as villains and now they're good. Hater are now 50/50. Dominator did have a slight change of heart at the end (there was a moment when she reconsidered choosing a different path). Perhaps Wander was right after all. He is probably much wiser than he looks.

Wander over Yonder was a good show. It taught us to be nice and kind, even to the most evil and cruel of people. It had some really well thought out characters, and it really deserved another season. And it had some good quotes too. My favorite was "An enemy is just a friend you haven't made yet."
It's such a shame that this show stopped airing...Brought so much happiness and Wander himself helped people in a dark place (and I'm not just talking about in the show).

I mean with the way he so effortlessly breaks out of chains and traps when he wants to without even trying does give your theory some merit. Add that onto the fact that Wander is implied to be very old in the Time travel episode and you got yourself some solid headcanon material.
Have you noticed that the whole second season was showing, among other things, the obsessive behaviour of a wander like he will ignore everything and anyone to do things as he thinks is best, and domination was shown that she was lonely and that was part ( notice ibsad part) of why she is so sadistic
Can we sit back and appreciate that Dominator turned hero Enemies-Are-Just-Friends-You-Haven't-Made-Yet from the show Gumdrops And Icecream into someone so desperate that he tries to chew off his arm to escape? After the first season where nothing seemed to be at stake, now everything seems to be at stake and we do not have to be told, we _feel_ it. She is legitimately evil yet likable. That is a great villain.

I love the running theme of wander being the shoulder and ear for any and everyone whose troubled or has something they need to talk to someone about like. He's the guy you come out to about any and everything because you know for a fact he's not only gonna support you but help you through those emotions and not so easy to handle moments like. If you came out to this little guy. He's taking you out on the first date. Or dammit he's finding someone who will. I love this little orange weirdo everyone needs a wander in their life
1:18 lord dominator may be an evil jerk but you can’t deny that she’s got some 🧠 while wander is busy giving her the whole sentence she is able to pinpoint that exact detail and instantly work out what it must mean and she pretends to be touched to get him into a vulnerable position she clearly had no knowledge of this prior so she couldn’t have planned this she just suddenly came up with it out of nowhere she can think on her feet and easily adapt to any situation that’s actually really admirable if she focused on galactic conquest instead she’d likely rule the biggest galactic empire the universe has ever seen for a long time she’s that smart.

She might have galactic domination and destruction. But even if a plans exceeded, what is she to show for it? The only one who would truly marvel at her reign of terror would be herself, and everybody knows she is desperate for approval. One of the reasons why I think hater is a better villain is because he leaves his symbols of tyranny around his control territory and leaves witnesses to revel in his image.

Both Major Threat and Sylvia started off as villains and now they're good. Hater are now 50/50. Dominator did have a slight change of heart at the end (there was a moment when she reconsidered choosing a different path). Perhaps Wander was right after all. He is probably much wiser than he looks.

Wander over Yonder was a good show. It taught us to be nice and kind, even to the most evil and cruel of people. It had some really well thought out characters, and it really deserved another season. And it had some good quotes too. My favorite was "An enemy is just a friend you haven't made yet."

Have you noticed that the whole second season was showing, among other things, the obsessive behaviour of a wander like he will ignore everything and anyone to do things as he thinks is best, and domination was shown that she was lonely and that was part ( notice ibsad part) of why she is so sadistic
Can we sit back and appreciate that Dominator turned hero Enemies-Are-Just-Friends-You-Haven't-Made-Yet from the show Gumdrops And Icecream into someone so desperate that he tries to chew off his arm to escape? After the first season where nothing seemed to be at stake, now everything seems to be at stake and we do not have to be told, we _feel_ it. She is legitimately evil yet likable. That is a great villain.

1:18 lord dominator may be an evil jerk but you can’t deny that she’s got some 🧠 while wander is busy giving her the whole sentence she is able to pinpoint that exact detail and instantly work out what it must mean and she pretends to be touched to get him into a vulnerable position she clearly had no knowledge of this prior so she couldn’t have planned this she just suddenly came up with it out of nowhere she can think on her feet and easily adapt to any situation that’s actually really admirable if she focused on galactic conquest instead she’d likely rule the biggest galactic empire the universe has ever seen for a long time she’s that smart.

One of the reasons why I think hater is a better villain is because he leaves his symbols of tyranny around his control territory and leaves witnesses to revel in his image.
