Something about the rocketeer is that the way it chooses 4 enemies is that it picks a target, and if there is more enemies in a 60° radious(in a way similar to sledger attack) it will attack all the way up to 4 of them, so there can be multiple enemies and rocketeer will still attack only 1 because he was far from the others.
They should add the radius like sledger so there are less people confused on how he works
@@WilcentEdward I thought it would ALWAYS attack 4 enemies in its range. Like imagine two enemies on opposite sides of the paths and the four missiles go in opposite direction of each other. Would look kinda weird, like the rocketeer was shooting back wards.

Rocketeer got a rework, and then another rework. Both reworks aren’t bad, so why don’t we do like the helicopter and have 2 paths. 1 with single target, and one with huge splash.
If they gave it a multiple path system like Pursuit, then they'd be expected to put it on another tower, then another, which would result in the game being basically a watered down btd6

It also wouldn't be true to TDS, Only reason Pursuit got the multipath was because it's such a unique tower as is, that if it were to only have one path, it'd basically still be pretty boring and underused, the double pathway allows it to either be a good splash or good single target, which is what the tower is *meant* to be, Rocketeer is a somewhat good splash tower first most, not a good single target tower
the first one was a buff not a rework
Do keep in mind that this is an intermediate tower (along with militant and freezer) with a cost of 2,500 coins. I'd say that it really isn't the worst for beginners.
Well, the Rocketeer is basically just a cheap, more unreliable ground Mortar for beginners with hidden detection

while this is true that should bound it. have meta towers like trapper, ace, milibase, freezer (kinda op for early waves) and the rest mostly being saved by golden towers. So it being mid really isnt an excuse also militant is really a progression tower lets be honest.

Something I’ve noticed while using this tower is that, even though it isn’t stated to have flying detection, if flying enemies happen to be within that cone of range that the missiles target, they will still go directly after flying enemies, but it won’t shoot them unless there’s a grounded enemy for it to focus its attention on. It’s almost like an indirect targeting
corso, something i found interesting is that the rocketeer technically DOES have flying detection, but that's only if there is an enemy under a flying enemy (in the spread angle), and im not talking about splash, i mean the rocketeer actually shoots directly at the flying enemy with its spit rockets but for some reason it can't shoot at a flying enemy if it's by itself which is really weird. you should probably say this hidden "stat" as people can take advantage of this.
they should really give rocketeer flying detection at level 3 and 4 not gonna lie, it would make sense

@ im not talking about splash damage, which i already mentioned. try it out in sandbox and you can see the split rockets directly damage it.

I still dislike that it doesn't have air targeting. This just simply has it forever be outclassed mortar, and yes i get its an intermidate but its deadzone mechanic genuinely makes it more complicated to use and place more than mortar. It just doesn't feel right that a tower with way more disadvantages still doesn't get anything positive to separate it from its cliff counterpart.
@@atomickarate3421 The dead zone does feel weird, but it’s not a hard gimmick to get around. Just place it where the dead zone covers the Least amount of path, and it has long range so in a lot of scenarios, it will still be able to attack like a normal tower.

@murbed.Your kinda right, sometimes it’s damage doesn’t work right. It’s hit, even if all 4 missiles do max damage of 90, it’s still less than the old one which did 400 in one shot.
I think it just needs a small buff by buffing its damage per missile at max to 100, and make its attack speed 2.5.
I think those are the buffs it needs, but that’s just my opinion.
Old rocketeer wasnt A tier, a B+ tier would be fine, new rocketeer is def B tho
since the 4 rockets work as bullet count, the chance for a firework shot when buffed by firework technician is quadrupled making it pretty much guaranteed every shot, and if even one single missile becomes a firework shot, the rest also become firework shots, then here's the wild part, any enemy hit by a firework shot would take 1 firework for each enemy caught in the aoe of the attack that procced the firework, and for rocketeer, it counts enemies hit by other missiles, and to top it off, the aoe explosion of the firework would stack ontop making rocketeer the best crowd control tower paired with firework technician since it's the only tower that shoots out explosives as it's main dmg source and has multiple bullet counts, mortar only counts the initial shot, the cluster bombs don't get affected by fireworks, and bottom path pursuit's missiles don't get affected either
Ngl, spamming Rocketeer on Pizza Party is worth it. It can carry you til wave 40. Just need Fireworks Technician to support Rocketeer

@julietschwab5876 wdym? You can get it. On next year. It's fine, DJ and Commander is enough, if you don't have Firework Technician. Like, who even don't have this Tower? It's one of the easiest exclusive Tower to get. I've seen a lot of random player using it on Fallen, Pizza Party and Polluted Wastelands II

it's worse after the rework than a few days before, rework reduced its dps at max and the missiles are actually inaccurate so they do reduced damage most of the time (since splash damage decreases the farther enemies are from the center)
hopefully it gets buffed because the 4 rockets with separate targeting system is pretty cool
I still think its weird that a ROCKETeer doesn’t fire rockets but missles…
2:20 this isn’t a bug the upgrade says it has “lower accuracy” which is crazy considering its dps is already lower than before the rework. Had they just made the changes without the accuracy it would be about the same/a little worse but imo it’s significantly worse than the last version bc of the accuracy.

Im kind of thankful CORSO didnt make a video about one week ago when rocketeer got buffed cause it just got a full design overhaul and new gimmick.

The rocketeer do also have flying detection, I've seem it on my team's fallen gameplay. I'd say, this rework is good for midgame players.

Not a fan on how they butchered his character identity. A quadlauncher is pretty cool but the Howitzer cannon made him way more unique.

I like just placing 8 level 3 rocketeers for single target dps with some extra splash and when I get to the late game I upgrade them all to max and place the other ones. Also, it is an intermediate tower so it isn't really gonna out perform towers like the mortar since it's shop price is quite low.

Its good for its value on its early levels. Crazy damage and range for just a 3000. I got to wave 34 on fallen by just using this tower without any supports and early game slammers

I feel like the better model created a placebo effect atleast for me. When i used rocketeer it seemed like it was accelerator level op if not higher but in the end it was mainly merc bases. Took me a while to realise
I did notice this guy dealing 1-2k damage per attack on lv4 regularly, might've been due to the quad giving him allot of buffs and with the stalling keeping the enemies together but still. it does pretty great, 150k dmg per match on average with JUST commander
They should of gave rocketeer an alternate firing type with an ability, that is similar to jester's, where he uses a different rocket launcher that will be on his back. The other firing type could shoot one big missile that has a small radius but and pushes back the primary target, if they are not a boss, a short distance. The stun would be a good synergy between the two firing types being able to group up enemies such as large breakers. However, the rockets will have a max hits of 3 to prevent spam of the big missile firing type and will also do significantly less damage to non primary targets. The price would need an increase though. Or they could make an ability that shoots one missile with higher damage and more knockback to 2-3 non-boss enemies.
Imo, rocketeer is basically just for people who don’t have mortar yet. In terms of buffs maybe it could receive flying detection, and like what you said damage could be increased a little at max level
ngl I'm glad the rocketeer now has a quad missle launcher instead of an ugly artillery. I always thought the artillery was weird and outdated. Glad it got changed.
Recently, I tested 8 of the rocketeers, I put them against 100 fallen shields. They actually killed them all (I did use max lvl dj on range track) and after many many enemies, I figured out it is still very good and well for beginners and experienced people (as long as placed well)

Man I hope they keep the previous max level as a second path upgrades. While the quad launcher can be good for crowd, the canon can be good for single target.
The deadzone just has to get removed and I'm happy.
i like the deadzone, it encourages the player to place the rocketeer in a more strategic area, and the high range compensates for the deadzone!
@@GingerDW-130 Most maps aren't deadzone friendly and the "High range" is effectively 12 range, which sucks

Most of the time, you'll be using dj, which can give your rocketeers a range buff, which will make the range more effective.
The deadzone is also not much of a problem, as it is relatively small, and you can put rocketeers nearby the end of the path or middle.
Which its high range, it can sometimes see most, if not the entire map, when used with dj, which just makes the deadzone a small inconvenience rather than anything.
(Also its not that hard to put rocketeers like 8 studs away from the path or in a better spot.)

It couldnt get the firework buff before. Or at least it couldnt fire them. Now it can. Its actually really good. And against a boss, whenever it summone it gets a temporary danage boost. As ive noticed the fireworks seem to prioritize the boss iver its summons.

From what I can see he doesnt always hit 4 random enemies even when they are in range. however if there is a huge crows of enemies scattered around just jet the targetting to random and watch the dps going

Well if you set all mortar on random, you basically clear all the breaker and low hp enemies much more than all others towers
Max lvl Rocketeer states it gets inconsistent with targeting, so the worse single target aiming is proposital, which is a bummer. Rocketeer main thing was about being a single target splash.

But the way aoe works is that there's an inner radius that deals the full damage and an outer one that deals less damage the farther from the center the enemy is
Tip to use it: on max set it to random It will send all the rockets around the map
That 4 missile design should have been for the other lunar night tower unit. And the rocket launcher, the previous design was fine, I think they should have added more attack range or splash damage like the mortar, or more troops to put in there.

This tower is really cool but my one compaint is that it has an aoe of like 0.1 range and will never hit more than 1 enemy per rocket unless they are in each other
They should keep it the same since it’s just an early game tower and not used for late game like how you would use engi over mini for late game
Well Tbf rocketeer could be used for new players for a splash attacker until they get the mortar though, so I’d say this rework was alright
I tried trapper, electroshoquer and the reworked rocketer and all i can say is " there's no crowd so large, nor boss so tanky
How I'd change it
-Give it Flying Detection at max level
-Make the rockets home onto their targets to fix the inconsistent damage
-Make it placeable on both grounds and cliffs like gatling gun
-Bring back it's howitzer because it was cool

Honestly they should have kept it as a far ranged single target + multi target... Also the howitzer was way cooler than the dumb quad launcher from fortnite.... (Yes ik it's not from Fortnite it's an actual launcher... But when pursuit rework came out everyone said it was TDX when it was an actual helicopter)
I have some rework ideas... My main one is have the shells imbed into tanky enemies, and fly through weaker ones (Aka max everything below around 1,500 hp gets pierced, and then above it imbeds) piercing would be just normal pierce except the hp needed for imbedding would be lower by 500 every time... Meaning at most it'll hit around 3? But imbedding would slow the enemy down about 0.5% of their speed... And after a timer the shell explodes, piercing defense as the shells are armor piercing... The shell itself does 300 dmg, the explosion does 150 dmg... But to balance it, the fire rate would be higher (maybe 6? Slower than others but faster than ranger...), and the prices would need to be increased (i am not a balancer... So idk how much... If there's any problems with this let me know.)

Awe man I loved the artillery one
I mean it kinda helped us go a bit far in fallrn mode on winter abyss (because of fallen brawler quest) and it did good against the fallen souls
it's really good with fire tech because it has 4x the odds which uhhh very balanced I tested it and it made rocketeer probally top a tier maybe bottom s tier
lv 2 its soo good, and firework dudemakes it buff it even more cuz more targets a tower hits more rockets and dont work with mortar
When targeting a single enemy, most of the time only 1-2 rockets deal full damage, and the rest do 54.
Man i miss the artillery design already, If only they gave two paths, One have insane range and big damage which was the Artillery one, and one is just good dps which is the rework one

i just played a game with this new tower and it did very well for me doing around the same amount of damage as the gold minis my teammate placed down so i think it is pretty good on certian maps because i played another game on another map that was more dense and it did not do as good

remember its an intermediate tower so its not meant to be too op mortar is an advanced tower that u get at lvl 75 so the comparison isnt really fair
