Once you get your stove top as clean as you can't can with the ammonia technique. Clean up and remove the ammonia. Then take a paper towel and some petroleum jelly wipe down all those surfaces. This will help prevent buildup again. Thank you for the posting I really enjoyed your message😊
Mrs. R. You are brilliant!! You have just made my day! I can't wait until our weather is a little warmer so I can open my windows and ammonia my stove top like nobody's business! I love your great idea of cutting out a hole in the napkin................So Very Smart!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love it!!
OMG - I have tried everything to get burned grease off of my stovetop gas burners! It removed it all of it. Sooooooo Happy - Thank you!!! So Cheap too.
What a swell lady ! She's also does other projects. How awesome. Mine's an electric but I see the same method can be applied. Many of these videos say to use vinegar but I can't stand the smell of it but I can live with ammonia. I'm not proud of letting the grease build up the way it did and I will never let it happen again.
Thank you so much!! I was scratching and scraping my stove. I have a similar one like yours. I cook so much that I shouldn’t have let it get that bad!! Thank you again! Love & Light, 🌹💋
this was great! it was definitely a great first step to get off most of the gunk. i had to finish off with a razor blade. i will never let my stove top get to this point again!
Wow! So Smart! What a Great idea and method you came up with! So Very Thankful to The LORD! Because been trying to find a way to clean off that baked on grease on the stove. Going to give your method a try! GOD Bless You!
I used dish washer liquid and it worked well except that I need to do it again. I’m going to use your plastic wrap method with it because I don’t want it to dry.
I've used ammonia, but never soaked with a cut paper napkin and plastic wrap. Easy and Smart - Looks brand new! And I NEVER thought of covering the ammonia soaked paper with saran wrap to reduce the smell... that was always the worst part. Brilliant!
I scraped my stove with a blade and scrubbed it to heaven and back and it still had stuck on splatters. Until I discovered the easy off oven cleaner. Turn on the hood, open the windows, spray liberally and walk away. After a while, when you see the foam turn brown from dissolving the gunk, put on your gloves and wipe it off. No more scrubbing!
This is good info. I usually open all windows and apply nasty stinky toxic oven cleaner and let it sit for like 5 mins. I'm pretty sure its not good for health. I think your way is better
I clean my stove after every use and I don't have built up grease on my stove. I use Clorox wipes and paper towels. I clean the stove with the Clorox Wipes then I dry my stove with paper towels. My stove is always grease free and shiny. I can't stand a dirty kitchen so I make sure all the counters as well as my stove and fridge are cleaned immediately after I cook. I clean as I cook as well so I don't have a pile of dishes in my sink.
@@itsreginatv thank you so much for replying 😊 I’ll try this in my black stove top but my friend has a stainless top and hers looks bad so that’s why I was wondering. Maybe someone else will be brave enough to try it out 😂
Hey how do u clean the silver part when you take of the silver eye crown there's a smaller deep silver part which I have some grease on.. not sure how to clean as it's near heating element
Is this technique safe for stainless steel? We just moved into a new house and I’ve never had a stainless steel gas stove like I have now. Kinda struggling. I stopped up my gas part with baking soda and vinegar and it took me forever to get it unblocked. I got too aggressive with it.

Ill be giving this a shot this weekend. Absolutely hate the smell of ammonia but I've tried everything else I can think of including auto degreaser.
Did it work?
Yes very well. I will never have to worry about my stove again. Good luck.
fantastic tip. I have a similar stove and can't wait to try. thanks.
When I tell you I have tried everything to get my stove top clean. I'm going to try this tomorrow
Awesome, Mrs. R.!
Thank you!
I’m sure it works, but I would probably pass out from the smell. This would be my last resort. Glad it worked and your still with us lol.
lol. it works great. I applied plastic to control the smell
Thank you for this video!!! I was looking for a way to clean my stove without scratching and having to use a thousand chemicals!!

Yup this worked on my black stove too

Good for you
very clean and shiny thank you for sharing
Thanks for watching!
how long do you let the ammonia and paper towel sit and do its thing?
Let it sit till the paper towel starts to turn brown.
How long did you let chemical sit?
I let the paper towel sit until I saw brown.
Thank you cause I would have poured from the bottle probably spilling fumes everywhere.
How long did you soak the ammonia and paper napkin solution before removing?
Until the paper towel started to turn brown, That's how you know it's working. Hope this helps.
I am asking this in October 2023. Does this method work for non-grease scorching? In my case it is from oatmeal that overflowed. Thank you.
It never hurts to try. Thanks for sharing and good luck.
I cant wait to try this. As a Chef it is imperative to keep mine clean
You mean 'cook' don't you?
This will work! Good Luck
Thank you Thank you I had a mess and it looks fantastic!
Glad I could help!
Amazing! Would this be ok on a Stainless Steel Stove Top?
I don't know. I don't want to tell you something i haven't tested out myself. Good luck thou.🙏
@@itsreginatv thank you so much for replying 😊 I’ll try this in my black stove top but my friend has a stainless top and hers looks bad so that’s why I was wondering. Maybe someone else will be brave enough to try it out 😂
How long did you let it sit with the wrap? I know that makes a big difference?
Till the paper towel turned brown.
@@itsreginatv lol, I just realized you did say that in your video, but thank you for responding! 😊
Amazing. Thank you for this video.
NO PROBLEM
Going to try this ! Thanks for sharing😻
You’re welcome 😊
Found out today the enter pieces for the flame lift right out so not in the way!
Hey how do u clean the silver part when you take of the silver eye crown there's a smaller deep silver part which I have some grease on.. not sure how to clean as it's near heating element
I don't know. Sorry
The silver part might come off. It does on my stove
Thanks for sharing.
You're welcome. Thanks for watching!
is this method okay for white topped stove ranges
It should. good luck
@@itsreginatv It works on white stoves without hurting the finish. I wish I had done this last year.
great
How long to keep plastic on
Until the napkin starts to turn brown. Good luck.
How long did you leave the ammonia on the stove ?
Another lady did this first and I believe she said keep it up there for 4 hrs...but better for overnight and she didn't have top scrape at all.
I left mine on till I saw brown on the paper towel.
Easy off oven cleaner will do the job. No scrubbing just wipe off.
Be careful, Easy Off will damage enamel.
How long did you leave it for ??
Until the paper towel started to turned brown
Thank you. Ill try it.
Thank You
THANK YOU VERY MUCH, GREAT JOB, GREAT VIDEO...
Legal amiga gostei muito do seu trabalho muito sucesso pra vc 👍👍
Gracias
Thank😊 I'm about to try it right now lol
Did it work?
Yes it did, thank you so much

I don't know because I don't have a stainless steel stove. Good Luck
Does this work on the actual burner too? I just moved into a house that the stove was left a wreck
IDK. I don't see why it wouldn't just make sure you clean it properly. good luck.
But wouldn't that be dangerous on a gas stove bc amonia fumes to strong mix with gas
I'm very careful and the napkins and plastic controls the amount i use and the smell.
Smart lady, thank you!
You are so welcome!
Why is mine cloudy/dull...i clean it daily so almost no grease at all,but stays cloudy not shiny
Wow. I don't know. I would just continue to wipe it down with damp
cloth. Hope this helps
How Long should I let the Amonia sit?
I let mine sit till i saw brown on the paper towel.
Don’t you have to turn pilot lights off first ? Before you put the ammonia
I was very careful with the ammonia, I only had it on the napkin.
Thank you so much! You’re amazing.
Thank you
Thx Sis.🤔🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽✊🏾
You're welcome
Well it would have been nice if she should the first application when it really had the burnt grease verses now when its semi clean
I decide to share what worked for me; hoping that it would help someone else who really needed to know.
I love your short hair due Girl😁😘
Hair doo
Thank you.
Genius! Thank you!
You're welcome.
Another tip, before you start cleaning sprinkle baking soda
Good idea!!
Remove the baked on grease by baking on more grease. Thank me later!
Great tip!
Dangerous chemical be careful
